;) Dragon Warrior VII is by far the longest RPG I have ever played, I've put more time into this game than I did playing FF12 (Which had me at 300 Hours) to be exact, 401 Hours. All I really need to do now is beat the Almighty One twice more and of course play through the Second Bonus Dungeon. I guess it's safe to say that if one is a hardcore RPG gamer they'd play this game as thoroughly as I have. Kalisiin once made an ultimate Save File in which everyone had everything in the game.

DWVII is definitely the longest DQ/DW game. Playing through it normally without doing all the extras, it took me a little over 100 hours. Had I gone and did everything, I'd have put as much time as Slime Master did, or more. It was surprising how DQVIII took a serious plunge in the amount of content.

;) Indeed it was, I found it rather refreshing though after putting like 200+ hours on DQVII three years ago.

Content, YES. From all those skills and jobs and magic to just the skill points was a drop, but the length was pretty damn near close. I know my 2 games of DQVIII took between 90 - 110 hours each, and I never finished the trials at the end.

;) That's still nothing compared to Dragon Warrior VII, I managed to complete the second Bonus Dungeon and nearly got the Monster Park complete (Plate Kings are hard to tame...) and of course completed the immigrant town in addition to massive Class and Level Whoring. All of which took nearly 404 ( ) Hours to complete. And I took a look at my file on DQVIII as I was preparing to begin another quest and my hours were 107.

I must play through games quick then, because my DQVIII game took about 70 hours including the Dragovian trials. I played DWVII at about the same pace, though I had to grind a lot more in DWVII.

(Plate Kings are hard to tame...)

Yeah, they keep getting food placed on them and then get stuffed, dirty and smelly, into dark, dank dishwashers for days at a time until they finally get cleaned off nice and good and are trainable.

;) Well, I finally started on Dragon Quest VIII, and I've knocked quite a dent into it. I've completed the Waterfall Cave and the Tower of Alexandria. I also snagged quite a few Overworld treasures, got Jessica into my party and now playing around with the Alchemy Pot. Also, I'm building some levels up too.

Went completely through Chapter 2 and most of chapter 3 last night in DQIV DS.

Got the Sword of Malice sold to me on day #2 of running the store. Going outside to fight a few battles got me some large armors and a couple broadswords, so I was pretty much maxed out with the best armor and weapon before I went in the cave for the iron safe. Making money at the store tonight before moving on to chapter 4.

;) I just got Angelo into the party so I'm gonna have to spend some time leveling him up since he's way behind the others. (Hero 21, Yangus 21, Jessica 18) And with each character I have been investing my skill points into two sets I find very important. The Hero (aka Debitto, an internet to those who get the name reference) is working towards Swords and Courage (Even though he's using a Boomerang right now ) Yangus is working towards Axes and Humanity since Yangus gets those awesome insta-kill skills and he'll get some good overworld skills too. Jessica is mastering Staves for some extra spells that she'll need and of course Sex Appeal so that I can get the Hustle Dance. After Each character's First Two Skill Sets are maxed out, I'll move on to Spears for the Hero, Fisticuffs for Yangus (Seems like he'd benefit most from it.) and Whips for Jessica. I plan to work with Swords and possiblly Staves and Bows later on for skills Angelo might need.

I've been playing DQVIII again the last few days. Just leveling up my 2nd party and preparing to take on Rhapthorne in his final form. Man, the game is so much easier when you actually start using the alchemy pot before you defeat Rhapthorne

;) Isn't that the truth? I've made a little bit of progress myself on Dragon Quest VIII. I've explored around Trodain Castle and I've been level grinding quite a bit. So far my party's levels are Hero: 31, Yangus: 30, Jessica: 28 and Angelo: 27. Skill Points are also looking good with most of my team passing the 1/2 to 2/3 point of Skill Set Mastery. Also, I've entered the Moonshadow Relm for the second time and will soon embark on that little fetch quest. Afterwords, it's more level grinding until I possibly can get Omniheal or at the very least Multiheal.

;) The last time I played through the game I had only Multiheal and I found Dhoulmagus to be surprisingly easy. I managed to defeat both of his forms on the first try. Now a few bosses towards the end of the game proved to be a pain in my bootox (Empearya anyone?) But level Grinding to the point of having Omniheal before fighting the "Big D" will make the remainder of the game delicious cake.

Holy crap - 401+ hours! That's over 16 days. Half of me is impressed with your dedication and the other half is thinking that you could have had over two weeks holiday abroad or something like that.

Then again, I spent about 160 hours on Disgaea and a similar amount of time on Star Ocean 3 (which is a credit to SO3 since the final boss was defeated at the 55 hour mark; Disgaea is just grinding from start to finish so it's more a case of how long you can be bothered to grind for no apparent reason). I didn't even bother completing FFXII - the last FF I completed was IX.

Anyway, when it comes to gaming I'm currently doing the following:

DQVIII: I'm still only 2 or 3 dragons in at the Dragovian Trials. I recently saw the 2nd, happy ending.

DQIV: Grinding to the point that I can defeat those chicken and egg bastards!

New Super Mario Bros: Slowly but surely trying to get all big coins in all levels, having completed the game months ago.

Since that's more like mopping up than actually properly playing through a game, I'm strongly considering replaying Star Ocean 3 again - I know all its faults but I just love the unique feeling it has. I would start playing the PS1 DQVII but I don't want to burn myself out when it comes to DQ; I've completed DQVIII, I, III, IV and played II, Rocket Slime and DQMJ all in a row.

;) Yeah I did spend quite a bit of time on Dragon Warrior VII and to make things even funnier I managed to complete the second Bonus Dungeon and tame all monsters but the Platinum King (I do not like Weird Abbreviated Spellings) and of course complete the Human Class system with everyone and Gabo nearly completing both routes. The Spirits actually proved to be less of a challenge than God was but the monsters like the Demon Kings and Esturks were extremely brutal. Also on Dragon Quest VIII, I've put almost 80 hours into the game (some of which was spent away from the console as Trode accused me of. ) but mostly doing level grinding. I just now got the ship and will be sailing 'round the world level grinding. Angelo now has Multiheal and the party's levels are a little something like this. Hero: 33, Yangus: 32, Jessica: 30, Angelo: 30 and the skill sets I have invested in are.... Hero: Swords: (70) and Courage: (65), Yangus: Axes: (73), Humanity: (72), Jessica: Staves: (70) Sex appeal: (65), Angelo: Swords: (41), Staves: (40) Once certain sets are mastered I plan to go into Spears with the Hero, Fisticuffs with Yangus, (Seems to me he's the only one who'd benefit from it initially) Whips with Jessica, and Bows or Charisma with Angelo.

;) ... tame all monsters but the Platinum King ...

There's no taming me!

Oh well, successful weekend. Got a ton of time to finish off DQIV once and for all despite helping my sister move into her new home all day Saturday.

I completed the immigrant town, getting all forms.

I completed the monster book which got me 300,000 casino tokens which I used to get lots of Meteorite Armbands and a couple Metal Babble Helms

I completed all the bonus fungeon boss battles. Never lost to them, but did take 24 turns once when I got breath attacked too many times in a row. Actually, everyone died, but Taloon had a nice little bracelet on that revived Christo & friends as he passed away. Won that in 24 rounds and didn't get a prize. Should have used the sandglass there...

Beat Amon on the first try. He wasn't a difficult as I remembered from the last time I tried him in the Japanese release, but I'm sure I was way more prepared this time.

Nothing left to to do, so I bid farewell to a great game. Total time ~30:00 exactly.

Back to DW7.

Well im approaching the final leg of Dragon Quest IV. Amazing game. I had a brief stint with Unreal II. Another great fps but too damn short. Im back playing Half life 2 now. I doubt there will ever be a greater fps, nay game than this. Also playing through Oblivion. Amazing game as well. Got me seriously pshyced up for Fallout 3. Also Wipeout HD. Another piece of quality gaming from PSN. To say the PS3 has no quality games as apposed to the 360 is heresy.

;) I've been doing more level grinding than anything in Dragon Quest VIII, I've also been testing something with the King Kelp's Song of Seaweed. I've determined that during the battle when a King Kelp uses this as you know will summon six Khalamari Kids or Squid Kids into battle (I tested this on the Squid Kids for more EXP) but after about 17 or 18 uses (96-102 Squid Kids/Khalamari Kids) the King Kelp will no longer use the ability. Anyone else pick up on this? Also, I've explored around Baccarat and Chateau Felix and collected Treasures in each area. Currently My Party looks a little something like this Hero: 39, Yangus: 38, Jessica: 37, Angelo: 37. Also my Skill Point Distribution looks a bit like this Hero: Swords: 91, Courage: 90, Yangus: Axes: 94, Humanity: 95, Jessica: Staves: 95, Sex Appeal: 83, Angelo: Swords: 62 and Staves: 62. Anyone here think I could take on Dhoulmagus?

;) Done a little more level grinding in Dragon Quest VIII and have maxed out a couple of skill sets for my characters. Yangus has mastered Axes and Humanity and has now moved onto Fisticuffs (I feel he's really the only one to benefit from it) and Jessica has mastered Sex Appeal and Staves with a few points invested into Whips (Which is good because she's equiped with the Dragon Tail Whip right now) and the Hero has mastered Courage and thus gained the 50% MP Cost Reduction trait and is close to mastering Swords. Levels are Hero: 41, Yangus: 41, Jessica: 40, Angelo: 40. I've also managed to get Dumbking for my monster team, find some of the treasure chests around the world and complete all events at Cheteau Felix, Baccarat and Argonia. Now I have the Magic Mirror in hand and probably more than ready to take on Dhoulmagus but before I do, I want to complete a few Alchemy Recipes and gain some more powerful equipment.

I love using Jessica's Sex appeal...

anyways! I'm right infront of that Dracolord or whatever his name is in DW7 where you gotta save this town from a monster in a tower of darkness. Ishehard?
