What are you currently playing?

I'm pretty positive there was no Bonus Dungeon. That was one of the few knocks on this Grandia, no Bonus area. The first 2 game had optional places you could enter (and signs telling you they were optional). Xtreme has a 100 level dungeon to go through after the end, but nothing in III.

That makes me sad, especially since my millions of Casino Coins will now go to waste since I thought they might put something special in the Casino after beating the game and opening some places that weren't open before.

Still slowly working on my Pokémon Capture Team and getting it ready for Diamond/Pearl (which I found out that you will transfer you monsters to D/P and then you have to capture them in a special park (which you will have to buy the balls, but they have a 100% catch rate), the problem lies with how rare the pokemon you transfered (the rarer = more harder to find in the park)).

Trying to find all the alternate routes in New Super Mario Bros.

Trying to make my second Advance Wars 2 all gold like my first one.

I hate to sound like a n00b, but how exactly do you transfer game data from 1 game cartridge to another on the GBA or something (as the GBA doesn't have memory cards like PS consoles or controller cards like the N64)? I remember Pokemon being on the GBA.

Well, for a while (GB, GBC, GBA) you just used a link cable between your 2 gameboys. Then they got a wireless adapter for the GBA that works up to 20-30 ft. Now, the DS has built-in wireless capability, and you can get a Wi-Fi connector so that you can trade with someone on the other side of the world if you wish.

Ohh, thanks!

I remember doing memory-card swaps and "copies" on the PS consoles and N64 to backup my saves. It never hurts to have a backup save if one card gets corrupted then I can still have my saved info intact on the other card.

Kinda wished I could do that on the SNES and Gameboy. Sometimes my 7th Saga game on the SNES would erase itself, pissing me off quite a bit. Thankfully I have it on emulator now, so no problems there.

Exactly, emulators rock! Oh and I found the Pokemon transfer info.

From Wikipedia:

Pokemon Transfers

In Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl you can transfer your Pokémon from past games; this done through a four-step process.

* Step 1: The player gets the National Pokédex.

* Step 2: Then, the player inserts a compatible Pokémon GBA game (Ruby/Sapphire, FireRed/LeafGreen, or Emerald) into the GBA slot of the Nintendo DS. When Diamond or Pearl is started, the option to transfer the Pokémon from the GBA game to the DS is available.

* Step 3: The player can now transfer up to six Pokémon to the Pal Park where they need to be re-captured. These six will need to be re-captured at the Pal Park before another six can be transferred. Pokémon transfers to the Diamond/Pearl games are limited to 6 Pokémon per day (24 hour period), per cartridge (so if the player has another cartridge, they can transfer from it once they've re-captured the six Pokémon from the previous cartridge). Pokémon cannot be transferred back to the GBA game.

* Step 4: At the Pal Park's entrance, the player will receive Park Balls. These Park Balls have a 100% capture rate, so the capture is guaranteed. The challenge is to find the Pokémon in the Pal Park. The rarer the Pokémon, the more difficult it will be to find that Pokémon. Once the player has found all six Pokémon, the Pokémon will then be transferred to the game's PC.

Damn! Good thing I haven't pawned off my FireRed and Ruby games with the complete Pokedex.

Ah Pokemon, those games were so broken, I found that it was much easier (and faster) to finish the game just by power-levelliing your starter and using nothing but him/her, while bringing along a straggler or two for cut/flash/surf/. Hell, I remember the first time I played my Red version, I started with Charmander, and had a level 19 Charmeleon before I took on Brock. :)
which is pretty much the opposite of what I usually do. By the time I get done I have an army of pokemon....

Me too. I collect them all and breed my team of 6 equally.

Just got Star Wars: Battlefront in the mail today. Picked it up for some random fun game I can pick up every now and again. I don't have anything like that other than Madden '06.

6?? I usually have a team of about 20 by the time I'm done. :tounge:

WHoohoo! Only three pokemon left to acquire in Colloseum. Shuckle, Togetic, and Ho-Oh.

I never buy sports games- to be honest I don't like them. I was never really into sports other thjan baseball, and I prefer watching or playing baseball in real life than some video game.

I remember I played a couple of sports games a long time ago on the NES with a friend who rented them, and I hated it. I haven't played sports game ever since. Racing isn't considered a "sport" by me- I do like crazy racing games- some of them include...

1. Rock N' Roll Racing

2. R.P.M. Racing

3. Super Off-Road

4. Mario Kart's (SNES and N64)

5. R.C. Pro Am

I'm not into the silly NASCAR or Indy-500 or Formula-1 racing games that have you repetitvely circle a racetrack that is usually oval. I prefer racing games that you can blow up your opposition and race on racetracks with large bumps, hills, or elevations.

:whoa::whoa: That's soooo badass! I LOVE the racing games I've put in bold. Off-Road was an instant classic of mine for the NES. And Super Off-Road, was all the better for the SNES! R.P.M. Racing for the SNES was simply awesome (one of the first games for the SNES, if I remember). R.C. Pro Am is an instant classic. And, of course, Rock N' Roll Racing! Now, that is my favorite game on that list that I've bolded. I remember renting that waaaay back in the day, with my cousin, and we were constantly playing for hours, and days on end in two-player mode. I still own all these games you have listed, and love them dearly! Great choice of racing games!

ALL the Mario Kart's are grand! The original for the SNES is still my favorite, though.

On a side note: I've been thinking of picking up Disgaea 2 for awhile now... but, I've heard mixed reviews about it (the first one was OK at best, in my eyes). Just not sure if I want to pick the game up. If I do, I'll update my post.

One reason why I loved R.P.M. Racing was that you could actually create your own crazy race tracks! I could create all the bumps, elevations, crazy switches, crosses, etc. in the editor.

How many racing games let you create your own race-tracks? Only one that I know of.

I'd d a lot of different stuff like making 1 long-ass race track shaped like a snake, or make racetracks with like 100 huge bumps, or make a track with like 50 crosses or something. Simply awesome!

After you purify every one of the pokemon you have captured, go to that one 100 battle tower place, and battle your way to the top. I think thats how its done.

Playing Advance Wars DS right now and just got to mission 27. They weakened Sensei a little too much for me, but at least they made it up by making Grit stronger. Can't wait to play with Kindle :wuvwuv: (love her Urban Blight).

Playing Rocket Slime! I'm past the 50 slime mark. Hoorah!

Got both the new Pokemon game and Rocket Slime this week. Playing Pokemon much more. I did that whole stat thing with all the items from Torneko a few weeks ago and got rehooked on the Mystery Dungeon franchise, so I'll play until I'm sick of it. Rocket Slime is something to look forward to in a month or so when I don't have to split my time.

Well... I beat Xenosaga III yesterday. Damn, it was good. Only the music was lacking... and I guess the battles were pretty slow sometimes. But it was definitely played for the story... just... wow.

My next goal will be to get Disgaea 2 from my brother. Other than that, I only took a few games with me to university, and so I have nothing on the go! It's pretty crazy. I might restart Dragon Warrior 2, though, because I just got a craving to play it... so we'll see.

Still on Mystery dungeon Red.... 172 hours so far O_o!

HOLY CRAP!

You must have the Japanese version, correct? The game has only been out about 12 days now, and although I really enjoy it and have over 18 hours put into it, at your time that's an average of over 15 hours/day.

Unless he's ROMming it and using frameskip.

Currently playing both versions of Shining Force 1, at the laser eye battle on the genesis version, and the battle right before the laser eye battle in the GBA version.

Bit late, but better late then never...

Yeah, I love MGA. I've played it through before and it's definitely one of the most interesting mix of games I've ever played. It certainly isn't MGS, but it is great in its own right.

Well, I beat Pokemon Mystery Dungeon after a marathon session today. Won in the 21st hour. Now it's time to evolve some people, do some post-game fun things, and begin splitting my time with Rocket Slime!
