Been playin' more of DQIV DS. Started Chapter 6, got you-know-who in the party, filled out my bestiary and got the 300,000 casino tokens to buy some Metal King Helms, and now I'm trying to do some grinding. Those blasted metal king slimes won't show up, though!

;) Best place to do it would be the bottom floor in the Tower to the Underworld.

Just downloaded Wild Arms off of the PSN store for the PS3. Its great. A western RPG. Bloody Brilliant. :)

Wild ARMs has one of my all-time favorite intros to a video game. It fits the game perfectly, and the song is one of my all-time favorites (as nerdy as it sounds, it's one I play quite often on my acoustic guitar). Michiko Naruke is such a great composer (one of my favorite female composers, right next to Miki Higashino of Suikoden fame). Such a great game. For $5 it's a steal!

For progress in my game:

I currently have Avin, Mile's and Martie in my current party. All characters are around level 4-5. I'm off to complete my final task to become a part of the adventure guild of El Phildan. About 2 hours into the game.

I tried killing those Metal King Slimes.. Now where were they again? I think they were outside of that last town on the island with the Zenith Tower.

Yeah, I found a bunch down there and a bunch on the island on the center of the world map, but for like the past two days I've encountered only a few. Like I'm playing it right now, I've been at it for almost an hour abusing Torneko's Whistle and I've finally encountered three measly liquid metal slimes. x_x;

Also, when ever I do encounter them they always flee on the first turn. I must be having some horrible luck.

You must have, because I had no issues getting them near the town in the center island. I always stood on a certain patch of forest area north of town. Not sure if that makes a difference. I'd just whistle a lot. I think it being a certain time of the day helps to(all the more reason to whistle instead of moving around).

I'm currently in chapter 7 of Rogue Galaxy. I'm getting everyone over level 50 soon. Jaster is halfway through level 52 since he's always in the party anyways. I have Kisala's best weapons already, and Jaster has his best sub weapon. He also has Absolute Halo +, which is his best non-special main weapon(special ones being the 7 star swords, like desert seeker). I'm currently working on Deego and Jupis, since they were the last two to join(and Jupis has never even been in active party until now. Chapter 7 is the earliest that he can be). Working on their weapons and trying to get their levels caught up to the others.

I haven't officially started it yet cause I've been busy, but I found a copy of Dungeons & Dragons : Warrior of the Eternal Sun for Sega Genesis last weekend at Game Xchange. So, I dusted off the trusty old Sega and it's in there just waiting for me to fire it up and try it.

Anyone played it? The back of the box looked promising, but sometimes that's decieving.

Eh, I finally found some after hanging out on the last floor in the dungeon to the Underworld. Managed to bring Psaro's level up to 38 so he could learn Kazing. Now I'm taking on Foo Yung and Chow Mein to get all of the bonus items (already got the sword and shield).

Wow, to answer my own question the game sucks. It's like a crappy mix of the Pool of Radiance and Eye of the Beholder games with absolutely horrid play control.

I'm still working on Deego's and Jupis' weapons in Rogue Galaxy. Exp in Chapter 7 is starting to drop down now(except when I finally fight some monsters that don't appear as much). Some of Jupis' weapons make me wonder if he's supposed to be female. Most people assume there are only 2 females, but Jupis has some sub weapons that are called purses. :P

Something funny happened while I was training these two. They were attacking a volcano type monster, it requires them to jump to be able to hit it. There was one of those worms burrowed underground. When the volcano monster died, they both kept jumping and attacking thin air because they were trying to attack the worm that was underground. Normally, they'd just attack thin air, but since they were used to jumping before doing so, they kept doing it. XD

Well, I gave Warriors of the Eternal Sun a second chance today. If you can get over the awkard play control it's actually a decent game. It's like playing the old Gold Box games, only without being able to use a mouse and keyboard, which is where the awkardness comes in.

I have 3 of my characters up to level 4 and one up to level 5 now... which by 2nd ed D&D rules is actually doing pretty well for one afternoon of play.

Currently been getting into the Klonoa franchise. I've beaten Door to Phantomile weeks ago and Empire of Dreams last week. Then went onto Klonoa 2 for the PS2, beat it but haven't totally completed it 100% yet. Now proceeding into Dream Champ Tournament. These games are pretty easy but they get more difficult as you progress and they feel rewarding once you've unlocked everything even after you've finished through the last boss.

Just started up: The Legend of Heroes: A Tear of Vermilion. This game is made by the same creators as "Ys", "Brandish" and "Sorcerian" games -- Nihon Falcom. And, as with those games, it boasts a GREAT soundtrack (Nihon Falcom always makes great soundtracks to their games, especially the Ys series).

The game is for the PSP, and I'm not that far in yet. Just viewed the opening cinematic and just got control of my character. It's a trilogy, so I'll be playing all three in order (I managed to find a buyer online selling all 3 brand new for a reasonable price, about a month ago). The graphics are gorgeous. Simply stunning 2D sprites and backgrounds. The PSP's ability to put out 480p really helps make the graphics crisp and vibrant. From what I've read on-line, they are very old-school, with a resemblance to the Lunar games and Golden Sun (both series which I enjoyed immensly) in game play and direction, so to speak.

For those on the boards looking for a new old-school RPG for their PSP (other than Star Ocean 1 and 2 that recently came out!), definitely look for this one. While you're at it, pick up The Legend of Heroes II: Prophecy of the Moonlight Witch and The Legend of Heroes III: Song of the Ocean, to complete the trilogy. :wd_coolslime:

I am actually planning on playing every game you just mentioned here. All I need is time, I already posses them. But first of all need to finish dragon warrior 3(which by the way I am playing on my psp with a gbc/gba emulator, I also have a nes emulator for psp).

Decided to finally clear DQIV DS again. I forgot how devastating some of Aamon's attacks could be--I was at an even higher level than my previous playthrough and I nearly didn't make it. So with that out of the way, I decided to go back to Tales of Symphonia 2. Thinking about it, the game itself isn't all that bad. I just wish they managed to get more of the old voice actors back than just Colette's. Also, the monster recruitment system reminds me a great deal of DQV, only you need to do those silly pacts at the end which has a chance of failing, unless you have the right monster in your party to increase the pact's strength. Oh well.

Broke out the old SNES and played through FF: Mystic Quest today, I'd forgotten how short that game was.

Still playing Warriors of the Eternal Sun too... have 3 characters at level 8 and one at level 9. I need to do a bit more grinding before I can make it through the Pyramid. I don't have a thief in the party so I have to absorb a ton of trap damage... too much to handle with my levels where they are now.

My friend let me borrow his copy of Final Fantasy XII, so I'm finally getting the chance to play it! All I've played thus far was the demo that came with DQVIII, and I wasn't particularly impressed with it, but I decided I wanted to give the game a fair shot. So, I'm not too far yet, only a little over an hour, but thus far it's not that bad. While I was (and still am) disappointed that the FF series has ditched their traditional roots, at least they ditched it for something that works. I also dig the license system. It reminds me of FFX's sphere grid system only... it's not.

So yeah, gonna play this until DQV comes out... along with some more ToS2, probably.

I wasn't too fond of the license system, I preferred FFX's sphere myself. I thought in FFX the characters were more unique, I just feel with the license system in FF12 everyone can be anything eventually. But I never got that far either. I do want to finish it someday. Right now I'm playing Super Mario Galaxy (I'm the only one on the boards probably who's into Mario and Zelda) and I have 60 stars and can finally get to the center of the universe or wherever where Princess Peach is! Took a long while to get them, some levels were easy, others were really difficult (for me anyway).

I might start my DQ marathon back up, replay 1 and 2 again (I played them in like November) and drag it till the end of the month when the DQ3r translation should be finished. Then play DQ3r and DQ4 DS until the end of March when my birthday comes out, the 27th, and get 5 DS. That way I don't have to pay for it, and people will have something to buy me special since I always get the good stuff I want for myself so no one ever knows what to give me as a gift.

Then I'll probably skip over 6 (kind of want to wait for the DS version plus I hate that menu crash bug) and just play DW7, try to do some of the bonus stuff I've never done before with that one. And after all that, I might not play 8. I personally didn't enjoy that one too much, it was okay but I didn't think it was as good as the rest, just my own feelings there.

Well just got the Chrono Trigger DS 2hrs ago, been playing it for those two hours. Anyway its bloody brilliant innit. The graphics are amazing, the music is brilliant (love the battle theme). Also love the way the combat works. A new twist on the turn based system (well its not really new the game is from teh 90s like). I highly reccomend it.

Forget to mention the name of the game in my first post lol

Are you talking about DQV DS? I can't tell....

Well, I'm still in chapter 8 of Rogue Galaxy(it's the longest chapter). My hunter rank is nearly 3rd place. I could possibly get to second by the time I get all the hunter points I can get in this chapter(then take over Desert Claw's spot in chapter 9). Also almost done the Frog Log. Just need to create a couple more weapons

Finally got around to continuing Magical Starsign. Got all the winged set equips for everyone and they're all almost lv 61. I just need to level up more to be able to make if further in the bonus dungeon. second special fight is tough because those tombstone monsters are strong against magic.

;) I'm tackling the Bonus Content of Chrono Trigger DS, the main game was pretty easy to conquer and I am more than ready to get the remaining endings but before I do that I want to get the bonus content done. Also, my Arena monster has two new techs to use in battle and maxed out stats. Talk about an uber file.

Still playing Warriors of the Eternal Sun. I've maxed out the levels on all my characters and upgraded my weaponry to the best possible. Just time to head into the final area, the Dark Elves lair.

;) Just playing around with the Bonus Content in Chrono Trigger DS, so far I've completed the Dimensional Vortex in all eras it appears in and now I am working on the Lost Sanctum. I have to say this about the Lost Sanctum, talk about a tedious task...
