Itadaki Street PSVita Unboxing and MORE!

Recommended Posts

Got my order from playasia today!

This is the unboxing of Itadaki Street for the PSVita, and a Jibanyan case for my 6yo's 2DSXL.

Can't wait to get into this later tonight! (Didn't realize my Vita battery was dead.)

So... tonight was the first time I actually got to sit down and play.

So far really enjoying it. My mind came to these note cards when i was trying to figure out how to buy a property off the AI.

@Plattym3, when I played the PS4 demo I made these note cards for reference.

Also, turning off all the animations, talking and speeding up play was super easy on the main menu. I didn't even need to translate it.

I was thinking I'd leave it on just to see the characters a bit but since I can't read it, and I'm not going to whip out my phone every time they talk, I turned it all off after two rolls into my first game.

I'll try to remember to post screenshots (I just have to google how to do a screenshot on the Vita because it's been forever since I've played it regularly) and such as I play here.

Screenshot = the PS button + Start at the same time. Funny you bring the game up. My son and I played a 2.5 hour game today on the Wii. First time I'd played either version in 40+ days. He killed me, I just couldn't land on properties at all the first 10-20 turns. Remembering what you said, I turned it all off, but man it still went on forever with 3 human players (my youngest said he wanted to play, but he bowed out in 10 minutes so we continued to control him). After finishing off Grandia 2 last week on Switch, it's been 25ish hours on lots of Vita time this week. Maybe time to play more.

Welp, I won my first board! Handily I might add. It was a very familiar one, Castle Trodain!
They definitely changed the AI from FSWii but it was still super fun.
The fastest fast forward speed was a bit too fast; Everything went by in a blur. Took it down a notch and it went by smoothly.
Got two trophies. This is one game I for sure will never platinum; Some of them are earned only in online-play.
I'll post some screenshots tomorrow!

Today during lunch at work, I beat the second board! Ghost ship! One thing it was missing was the monsters on the deck of the ship below the board, a little less dynamic. Didn't win as decisively, it was a race to the bank against Alena. Unlocked two more characters. Got more screenshots to post sometime this evening.

So, I started over since I had to. Was winning the first board the whole time despite my rolls being rediculous. At one point I was 3 levels behind Carver because he was just flying around the board and I was crawling. Of course that's how I lost too. I had 10K and only needed a 3 or more to win. Nope. Got a 2. Lost because 1 ended up 1 space away from the bank and Carver got there on his turn (because another computer player oddly landed on his only spot in range to put him over the top. Luckily I still cleared the board. a9bb5cc40a77c75be02aa3d59187b269.jpg

Had horrible "luck" on the Pirate Ship, but didn't quit this time. Like before I got 1 property the entire first time around the board. The second pass I got 2. Then they were all bought up. I bought 2 more off others, blowing most of my money in anger. Was actually doing alright when the computer made some trades and bought out each other to get 4 straight properties. Then, instead of leveling some of them up, it repeatedly leveled one up to like 1,800G. The others were all 100-200 or so. Guess what spot all 3 of us landed on as we passed the next time? Yep. Computer went from not really close to winning in about 5 turns. I swear a lot of this doesn't sound random. Came in 3rd on that board. Time to do it again.

Where's the autoplay option in the menu? I thought I went through it all and couldn't find it.

Oh man, I didn't even think of that. I'm not sure, because I haven't looked. I wouldn't be surprised if you have to unlock it though because, I played a free play game and I hadn't unlocked vacant lots yet (dumb) so I couldn't use them.

I started the next set of boards and only a few turns in, I had one property when all but the most expensive were already taken, so I started over. I'm halfway through it again and doing a lot better.

Also, I forgot to mention, on the Ghost Ship board, I pulled unlucky card 13 towards the end of the game which is why it was a lot closer race.

I started the next set of boards too and game in 2nd place. Move to the next board and about 5 turns in I know I'm doomed. Ugh.

I'm really digging this being on a mobile platform. Being able to put it to sleep and come back is awesome.

Load times are pretty horrendous though.

That's the truth. It's a neat feature having that recap feature at the end of matches. But that's the worst of the saving and loading and such.

Yeah, it's great being mobile. I played through the entire DS version ages ago (2007-8ish?). That was good being mobile too.

Is there a way to NOT immediately go to the next board in a series of boards when you beat one? I'm on the 4th board and losing and guess I'll just leave it sleeping or save and exit. Don't want to quit because I'm afraid it'll make me do board 3 all over again.

Game two.

Here it is, DREADED 13. This made the game way closer than it needed to be. I eked out the win barely.

Game four.

This was a close one. Yuna was two spaces away and only rolled a 1. Whew. I had a couple spurts of four or five turns with "1" rolls. Pretty frustrating. The board is a cool design.

This really demonstrates how Yuna almost came out of nowhere. I thought for sure Angelo was going to get there way before me but he fell off right at the end.

Two more trophies after this one. I played a free game that's how I got to 5.

Game five.

This one I had a slow start. Minfilia (had to look that up, idk FF) kept buying my properties and was ahead for a good portion of the game. Then Titus (I only know this character because I've watched my wife play FFX) started to glom onto my success by purchasing stock in my district. HE ALMOST BEAT ME!

Game six.

MY FIRST WIN VIA BANKRUPTCY!!

Kiryl just couldn't hang on for me to get to home. You'll see on the line graph that I was actually above the winning line but when he started auctioning properties it was too hard to pass up the third one in a district!

Nera was on my heels for a good portion of the game too.

In the first pic you'll see that they actually just rearranged the spaces slightly from the Mario "M" board in FSWii; Plays the same way, just less "M" shaped.

Oh yeah, the AI is starting to get a bit more difficult as well. They will trade with one another but will not let me purchase a property from them even at 5x or more; Kinda frustrating.

Also, I figured out you have to use the coins won at the end of a game to purchase the ability to add vacant lots to free-mode games. When it says at the end of a game that you unlocked a character, it actually means that you unlocked the ability to buy them in the store, you cannot use them right away. I bought all the DQ characters and boards available. Just go to the treasure chest on the main screen.

Started the third board of the third campaign at lunch today; It's the volcano board from FSWii and the first to have vacant lots!

I had to take notes on the vacant lot menu; One thing to note is that there are 3 shop sizes to choose from now.

Game seven.

Here it is, I've been dreading this post and actually haven't played since I lost (been playing more DQ11S). luckily if you lose you don't lose your progress from the series of boards you're in and you just have to replay the lost one.

First off, I got LUCKY NUMBER 13 (/s) again.

PS_Messages_20200802_205208.jpg.a5a0eb5287c8f1547a3553f5d3ee964b.jpg

Once I knew I was going to lose I went for broke and went blocked them on the card board.
