More or less than people that have committed suicide so far?

I got 7777 again with the fifth being 1 row off. There is supposed to be a "cheat" slot right? If so, I found it by picking a random slot at the 2nd casino.

you should have played with more difficulty settings on.

I started with more difficulty options but removed some of them. That isn't the point. I want LESS grinding, not more.

I guess the only thing you can do is make some armor or weapons, you play on a harder difficulty, of course there is going to be more grinding, cause its harder

So I got 4 jackpots in 15 minutes, followed that up buy buying secret turd for most of it. What a time to be alive!

Edit: yeah... this game is making me look like a fool every time I play this, fantastic.

I can’t help but notice how secretive Sylvando is yet has no problems showing off his skills. Definitely an odd character...

Anyway, I’m almost to the Slayer of the Sands boss fight. I’m dreading how tough this will be, as there has been a bit of a difficulty bump in the Gallopolis region. No doubt it’s because of having 4 party members, and thankfully I’m starting to get skills like Fizzle for Serena and Bang for both MopTopMo and Veronica, so the tables are turning somewhat. I may grind up to the next level for everyone just to be safe...

Edit: BOOM! Killed a Metal Slime! Everyone leveled up from that! Woo-hoo!

I feel your pain.  Especially if you're at the second casino

Managed to beat the Slayer of the Sands on the 4th try. Erik poisoning him and using Scorched Earth really helped deal damage, as trying to put the Slayer to sleep would always get interrupted because freaking Sylvando kept waking the damn thing up! Luckily no one died on attempt 4, so that was a plus.

Also, while leaving the desert I managed to take care of that Wild Side quest you need to do. I’ve heard the troubles others have had with this quest, and was surprised I got lucky with it.

Next time it’s off to Gondolia, and maybe some target shooting with the crossbow! I’ve read the crossbow was a new addition to the western release, but I don’t know if this is true or not.

I made it to Gallopolis. I just finished updating my party's gear (Veronica is squishy AF).

Gonna meet with the Sultan's son at the circus.

You get to learn some of the party members more as you go along.

Serena has less HP but can at least use a shield.

...Yeah, I assumed as much. This isn’t my first Dragon Quest rodeo.

No, just your first DQ horse race and MMA fight. Rodeos slated for DQXIV.

Got the White Shield from the first casino. It helps a lot.

Suprisingly though, it now puts numbers to the ice and fire resistance the White Shields have always had in DQ. And they suck. It's like 5% less damage. So if you're blasted for 40 damage, it cuts that to 38. Kinda pointless. But good defense. Sylvano has my highest DEF by a good deal with one equipped. Mainly because I eschewed DEF by dual wielding everyone and using great swords. I made my own minimal difficulty bump.

Just finished the main story yesterday after about 80 hours and got started on the post game content.  What a game!  I'm still honeymoon phasing with it so I can't definitively say but DQ11 might have finally overtaken DQ4 as my favorite game in the series after falling in love with Dragon Warrior 4 NES as a 5 year old boy back in the early 90's.  While I do have some nitpicks (being thrown into the deep end with the story just a tad too quickly, original music mostly being bland, voice acting being spotty) this game has so much of the intangible that makes Dragon Quest what it is in it to me that made almost every single minute of this game a joy to play.

That’s the one that will have the western theme, right? Can’t wait to have Buff Alo join the party!

Anyway, Sylvando has now joined the party! Finally. I’ve been waiting to use this guy in my party. I was happy to see them have a new character who represents the Jester/Goof-off class, and Sylvando fits the bill. Judging his skill set he’s like a combination of the Jester and Luminary (from DQ7) classes, since he can eventually get Hustle Dance. Definitely aiming for that skill first.

I’m not really sure what weapon I want Sylv to focus on though. Maybe Knives and Whips so he can work with Erik to put enemies to sleep and unleash Persecutter and the poison equivalent. But Whips would be good too for multiple enemies.

Edit: Wow, Seeds of Skill are pretty lackluster in this game. Only 1 skill point per seed. So much for giving Sylvando some extra help. Ah well, at least I was able to give him the +5 attack when equipped with a whip.

Damn, I can’t get the Golden Globe enemy to spawn in the desert. I keep fighting Cactiballs but no luck.

Anyone else have trouble getting one to spawn?

Edit: And of course, as soon as I post about not being able to find one, a Golden Globe finally spawns. Happens every time I’m looking for something. I just need to post about it and BAM! It shows up. Thank you RNGesus.

Dang, the game just keeps getting better the further I get into act II. I thought the first act was fine, but the characters were so boring compared to VIII. Not anymore.

Can't wait to see what else this game has in store.

I’ve liked the main characters so far. They’ve each had good moments so far. No doubt the latter half of the game will touch on some elements of them (such as Erik’s comment about siblings while in Hotto).

Anyway, I’ve reached Gondolia. I’m debating if I should go out and grind for the money to get the cat suit for Veronica. I do need to look for targets for the crossbow...

Edit: Ha! Nice little trick you can do to lower the price of the cat suit, game! Very nice.

Remember that trick for the second half of the game.

Just got through with battle field.   Ever since the second half started I haven't grinded that much... I feel a little under leveled.  Is there a slime hill type location?
