Did you notice the party (especially Erik) pointing you to the macguffin that pops up once you reload your save? The glowing blue light near those “ruins,” north of Dundrasil that you see during the credits that Erik keeps mentioning in party chat? Probably should go there.

He DID mention Octagonia when we left Arboria, so I could check that out.

Just survived a close call with the pt 1 spider boss on my 2nd playthrough with strong monsters.  That wasn't the easiest boss for me even on "easy" mode.  I did well early, but got confused. Hero had about 110HP left and the boss just KO'ed Serena. Luckily confused ended. It was now or never and luckily I was able to get a Cutting Edge shot in to finish him off before the missiles and attack combo which might have finished me.

Haven't been playing games for the past years, but I'm still big fan. The game was on sale on Steam last on christmas week and surprisingly my laptop was able to run it on low settings.  I'm addicted to it, but soon I won't be able to play for a long while again so I'm just rushing through the post game. Just an amazing game. The big plot twist really suprised me, it's one of the best games in the series for sure. I love the characters and the gameplay. That's all I can say.

Finally fought the post game boss, finally finished the trials, and done the full wheel of harma.   Finally after putting it off for months I finished the post game.

I've gotten Jade and Rab in my party; and now I'm in Sniflheim City.

Maybe it's just me, but Tentacular is super annoying.

I finally learned how to actually forge stuff. I'm so stupid. Now I can get all my equipment to the max level.

I also learned a nice tip to level my party very fast. They're almost the max level.
I still have two challenges to complete, 3 quests, the bull's eyes (gonna use a guide for that one, don't have the patiance to look for them) and the casino trophy. After that, only the last fight is left, then it's all DONE.

I'm rushing so I can finish everything before my vacation ends, but this game is just so satisfying. It's the best DQ experience.

I'm currently at Angri-La, working on the Wheel of Harma trials.

How many of those do I need to do before I can move on?

You don’t need to do any of them. They are optional trials. Only do them if you want the rewards or if you want the Playstation trophy (or steam achievement) for finishing each trial at least once.

I think I cleared the first class and then waited for the rest of them until near the end

I flew to Puerto Valor, and did Sylvando and Hendrick's power-up quest (I'm assuming each character has one). After that, I stopped by Phnom Nohn and saved that town...again.

I still haven't ventured into town yet, since I saved at the dungeon save point after fighting the boss.

Just went two rounds with the Octopus Boss. The first time I got Sonny Corleoned since I had a bad party going in. 2nd time, I got him barely.

Mac (Hero) has the Plantinum Powersword and it saved my butt the 2nd time thanks to the oomph spell and my healers keeping him healthy.  I had Mac, Sylvano, Rab, and Serena most of the match. Jade was in for a bit until she was barely alive. Veronica was KO'ed almost immediately so she was out of action. Erik was a bad matchup for this (and doesn't have critical skill yet).

I was lucky to win. With the strong enemies challenge in early/mid game, this team goes as far as Mac and Veronica carry us until I get Multithrust and Critical Claim.

I had a chance to make some good progress yesterday. I've got Hendrick and Rab in my party. And I've stopped by Phnom Nonh for the second time. And I'm now ready to go to the next dungeon.

Took me two tries (Mac level 30) to get through the painting on strong enemies. That boss fight is pure luck.  I got multi-thrust now which helps immensely. I always forget about Erik's boulder attack spells and that helped me out as well in this one.

I'm dreading the dragon fight coming up fairly soon. That guy knocked me out the first time last game even without the Draconian Quest options.

I just finished the Phnom Nohn vignette. Now I'm on to the last orb at the town in the winter wonderland.

Part of me wants to start a replay of Dragon Quest XI, or at least a file to mess around in. I’ve been curious about the Shypox Draconian setting, and seeing what’s it like to play without being able to buy stuff from shops.

I don’t know if I’ll follow through on this since I’m in the middle of Etrian Odyssey Nexus and Monster Hunter World, but still, might give it a try some evening.

Made it through infiltrating Helidor. Took a break for the night. I've put in about 11 hours in the last 36 hours.

You shush. You should know me by know that Etrian Odyssey takes RPG priority over anything else.

Now if a new Dragon Quest game was out at the same time....well, tough luck EO, you tried your best.

I defeated Tyriant last night...and got the Purple orb back. Oh no, I hope I don't have to gather all 6 Orbs again. I don't think I'd mind too much, actually, but I hope it doesn't take me another 20 hours.

You answered your own question. All the Spectral Sentinel fights are fun save for the last one. That last one sucks, especially with stronger enemies on.
