Hey all,

I got this idea a month back and totally blew through and entire evening doing nothing but finding images and asking my kids some favorite tales.  I'm actually going to compile a bunch I make into a real book using www.mixbook.com (which I've used for 7 years now) because they do images with transparent backgrounds so well and allow you to upload anything you want.  Compile what?  Read below!

Basically:  Rewrite a common nursery rhyme to be a DQ-related Nursery Rhyme.  Replace some words and get it sounding just right!

How to enter:  Paste the text of the original nursery rhyme AND your revamped version in a post below

You need not: Make a photo like my 1st entries will, but you can as part of your submission

Who will win?: 10% of entries (rounded up) will get badges, minimum 2 winners.  So, upon the 1st entry, we'll give 2 badges, 21st entry will get us a top 3, 31st = top 4, etc.

Timeframe: Post before April 2018 ends

Happy Questing!

Original

Spoiler

Lyrics to "The Wheels on the Bus"

The wheels on the bus go round and round,
round and round,
round and round.
The wheels on the bus go round and round,
all through the town.

The wipers on the bus go Swish, swish, swish;
Swish, swish, swish;
Swish, swish, swish.
The wipers on the bus go Swish, swish, swish,
all through the town.

The horn on the bus goes Beep, beep, beep;
Beep, beep, beep;
Beep, beep, beep.
The horn on the bus goes Beep, beep, beep,
all through the town.

The doors on the bus go open and shut;
Open and shut;
Open and shut.
The doors on the bus go open and shut;
all through the town.

The Driver on the bus says "Move on back,
move on back, move on back;"
The Driver on the bus says "Move on back",
all through the town.

The babies on the bus says "Wah, wah, wah;
Wah, wah, wah;
Wah, wah, wah".
The babies on the bus says "Wah, wah, wah",
all through the town.

The mommies on the bus says "Shush, shush, shush;
Shush, shush, shush;
Shush, shush, shush."
The mommies on the bus says "Shush, shush, shush"
all through the town.

What's funny is reading Wheels on the Bus to Plattym5 last night prompted me recalling my idea and making a note to post this in the morning!  I was messaging Yangus two lines:

The Yangus on the wagon says,

"Cor Blime-y!"

"Cor Blime-y!"

"Cor Blime-y!"

& the Not Safe for Kids:

Jessica's boobs on the wagon bouce

So if I understand what you said above correctly, you plan on compiling entries into a book? Any plans to put copies up for sale when all is said and done?

There was a Healslime from Nantuckett,

Whose tentacle was so long....

Uhm, scratch that. I'll try getting my mind out of the gutter for a day or so before I come up with one.

Actually, yes. I'll be putting a bunch together in a book for my kids. I can share the link to that book on here for others and if they wanted, they could order too. I've done this via that site before with family and friends.

I’ve got one in mind. Once I have the particulars figured out, I’ll post it.

Georgie Porgie, rant and rave,

Monsters came, made you a slave.

Once the hero's kin do roam,

Georgie Porgie trek to home.

(How interesting that the use of puns in DQ means I didn't need to alter the name of the nursery rhyme).

Oops, forgot to put the original up:

Georgie Porgie, pudding and pie,
Kissed the girls and made them cry,
When the boys came out to play,
Georgie Porgie ran away.[1]

Prince Charmles sat on the stair,
Royal pressures he just couldn't bear.
All the king's horses
And all the king's men,
Couldn't find Charmles
Anywhere!

Couldn't put Humpty together again!

Terry, Terry, quite contrary,
How does your ego grow?
With Angel Bells and Tortoise Shells,
And dead beasts in a row.

DQ Nursery Rhyme: BOOM! Goes The Rockbomb

All around the mulberry bush,
The dracky chased the rockbomb.
The dracky bites with not enough might.
BOOM! Goes the rockbomb.

Original: POP! Goes The Weasel

All around the mulberry bush,
The monkey chased the weasel.
The monkey stopped to pull up his sock
Pop! goes the weasel.
