Dragon Quest III GBA special features?

Recommended Posts

So in the wikipedia article covering Gameboy Colour games, Dragon Warrior III is listed as having special features when used on the Gameboy ADVANCE.  I've never found anything unique when playing on my GBA SP, nor can find any information regarding any distinct features that are GBA only.

Does anyone know what this might be referring to?  Or is it just a mistake?

However unlikely it is to believe...you'd be surprised at how accurate most Wikipedia articles are, especially technology and science/math related.

"You can trade medals via link cable to make things easier."

That's from the amazon storepage. I presume those are the special features because they are only unique to the GBA and not any other version of III.

The link cable has been around since the original GB.  It carried over to the GBC, and I have one and used to have two GBC's (lost both, not sure where or how, it's one of those odd things where they suddenly disappeared when I went to check on them, and I can't think of anyone having had access to steal them).  You can trade via the GBC.  So no, this is not a unique GBA feature.  Good train of thought though.

I've scoured the manual and prima guide for any information.  Nothing I can find, unless I completely overlooked it.

The boxes for the US and JP versions don't seem to mention any special features. It's likely an error.

Forgot to check the boxes.  Thanks Psi.  Though even with that, it should have been in the manual somewhere.

Definitely sounds like an oversight/error.

I'm late to this party, but I have never noticed any changes between playing on a GBA SP and a GBC. Must have been some misinformation going around.

Though I would laugh if playing on GBA it made the Jester class act like a genius versus how they normally act...

I think you're all just reading in to the typo here. GBC, not GBA. That's it. Just a typo. No type differences.

Yes, medals are exclusive to the GBC color version. They weren't on the original, SNES, or mobile versions.
