Probably the Switch.

Afterall there are a lot of last minute changes to the device to keep up with current trends.  The original dev kit released used a far less powerful system than the currently released dev kit, causing a lot of controversy in what the real specs are.  Likely fits the Foxconn leak (given it's been dead on accurate so far, and the only leak that's been consistently accurate as actual specs are unveiled for features), which suggests something just under the power of the Xbox One original version.

In anycase, it's likely the main reason why the delay on the DLC item releases, which they've intimated was done after when it was initially intended to see a release.  No one clearly had any idea what the heck was going down, so who knows how chaotic it is in the Nintendo offices, but this is the first release of a system with virtually NO demonstration until just months before.  Usually it's a year prior, a bit earlier, or at least 9 months prior to official release, with fully functional dev kits released one to two years before the official system is, to give some prep times for actual day-one releases.

So...yeah, as Yangus said, they lack the passion and the gusto, lol.  Though definitely better late than not at all.

No, no, no, you're saying/typing it wrong. It's not "the passion," and "the gusto." It's "the PASSION," and "the GUSTO." The all caps is very important to truly capture the spirit of Morrie Mozerella.

I'm going to offer the opinion that it has absolutely positively nothing to do with the Switch. Whoever is doing marketing stuff for DQVIII has absolutely nothing to do with the specs for the Switch. How does that even make sense? If that was the case, Nintendo has zero ability to multitask. No, completely different departments are handling DLC for a 3DS game and working on finalizing the Switch.
