Ah, I always forget that you can poison some bosses. Does defending champion work against crits?

Sorry for reviving a dead post but I recently started playing the 3DS version of 8.  I'm just after the part where you help the mourning king. Found that amazing area that spawns Metal slimes and

Look at Mr. "I employ a proper strategy" over here. Thinking ahead and being prepared.

Blade Cascade is a wonderful attack skill. It's very much worth the investment in knives. Combine it with a Liquid Metal Sword and she's a metal killing machine.

Yes.

I have yet to open it from its plastic wrapper. I'm waiting until I beat VII first.

I hit a wall at the Silver Dragon. Lost the motivation to continue. Beat Rhapthorne again, watched the "true" ending, decided to take a break and reevaluate my life choices.

Angelo just joined my party. Still unsure if I should go swords or bow with him.

Forgot how the voice-acting was great in this game.

I really wish I could play my 3DS on the bus so I wouldn't have to wait so much between my game sessions.

It's been awhile since I last posted on this thread.

Got the ship, did some more bingo in Pickham's Casino for alchemy, finished more codex pics(including the Golden Grimalkin, had to beat 30 Terror Tabbies first) and talked to Morrie, let him name the team this time(I usually do name my own, but I figured let him do it this time for the heck of it). Now I'm working on getting a good early team together, starting with Axoraptor. I'm not completely decided on the rest though, I usually add the Cannibox and Jargon infamous monsters for the early rounds since they do a pretty good job. But I would like to get something else for a change of pace in the early rounds. I'll look into some options.

Speaking of the Monster Arena, I need to take of a picture of it really quick.

Played a lot during the last couple of days (gotta thank the holidays for this).

Just arrived at Argonia. I have my party at level 25 and have been doing all the Codex Photo Challenges until now. I have a total of 95 as I'm writing this. Also played a couple of rounds in Monster Arena until I reach Rank D. I'm using an Axoraptor, Skeleton Soldier and a Fowlfighter. Found 48 minimedals.

I reckon that altough the maps are vast they are pretty much empty and the geography is boring. You pretty much roams around trying to find the chests (which are always in a corner) while avoiding some pesky enemy battles. Great game but I wish the maps were more populated or smaller.

I've owned this game since release. I've just now gotten to the Argonian Hunting Grounds.

I'm going for the opposite of Lightspeed Champion.

Sublight. Like me. I did the dark world and paused...

Dark Pikachu must have done a number on you.

I got to the end game then decided to catch up on those pictures.

Then I didn't.

I'm basically playing the game of 'do all the pictures asap.'  I do the story when I can no longer do more pictures.

Oh I need to do those as well. I meant the quest we have here of photologging all the monsters in the game for archival sake.

I didn't plan on starting this game before beating Kingdom Hearts...

...but then I had a plane ride and nothing better to do, so I guess I'm playing two games now.

I'm goofing around in the beginning of the game at this point. I've already beaten this game a couple times on PS2, so I'm gonna take this play-through slow, have fun with it, and try not to miss anything.

Well I am gonna be resuming my playthrough after a quite extensive break in order to play Breath of the Wild.So when I do resume I have to recharge the Magic Mirror and grind a little bit and upgrade my equipment via alchemy before heading to the Dark Ruins.

In a month or two, I hope to do the same thing after my Persona 4G and DQH2TOWTLS break.

So before tackling the dark ruins and since I know have access to the bazaar,I think its time to upgrade some equipment. What do you suggest I make or buy?

My party is set up this way

Hero:Swords

Yangus:Axes

Jessica:Whips

Angelo:Bows

In case I have to where is a good place to grind for gold at this part of the game.

If you've been tackling ever monster arena monster in the overworld, selling your monster coins will probably give you enough gold at the point to buy/make anything you want/need.
