Oh, so special monsters that don't appear normally in the tablet except when the boss calls them?

Or does "monster leader" refer to non-boss monsters that can call for help?

Either way though, thanks, that'll definitely help.

That was too easy.

Maybe I'm intruding on something personal, but I can honestly say I appreciate both of you guys. Yangus, I can always get a chuckle out of you, and our mutual interest in Atlus games is neat. And Iggy

Yeah, I pretty much just use regular streetpass, since it seems to work a little funny. Streetpass data is typically saved to the SD Card, but your Monster Levels and immigrant town are connected to y

When you create a tablet, you pick monster 1, 2, and 3.

However, 2 extra monsters also spawn.  99% of the time, these two are Monster1 BBoB+1 and Monster1 BBoB+2.  These are cases where the boss, the first monster picked does not spawn either 2 extras, despite being a normal game monster and not a DLC monster, OR it spawns two monsters from completely different parts of the BBoB than the standard +1 and +2.

So if you picked Drakulord as the first monster, and thus the boss, instead of getting 001 and 002 for the extra two monsters, you get 002 only.

Oh, ok. I got it. My guide is more of a reference for the DLC tablets that are being distributed by Nintendo, but that's still a useful piece of information. I guess I should jot it down somewhere.

Another repost of pertinent and useful info (based on the PSX names but it fits the 3DS):

Only three changes from the original game:

1) BabyGoyle is only present over the bridge where the Divine Shrine is, so it's first appearance as a standard spawning enemy is in the Automaton Stronghold.

2) The changes to the temporary ocean in Wetlock means Piranhan is not present in the Wetlock scenario, and is only present in Coral Cave.

3) The changes to the temporary ocean in Wetlock means all of the ocean going monsters from the PSX are first found inside the Undersea Shrine.

Monster FAQ is done up to Hubble...I'm going to do some work after my Aetheras file gets Aishe, and release a version up through that point.

I must have been exhausted when I counted these, but there are 56 tablets + 3 story (thought there were 4)

http://dragon-quest7.game1wiki.com/index.php?%E3%82%AD%E3%83%A3%E3%83%B3%E3%83%9A%E3%83%BC%E3%83%B3%E3%81%BE%E3%81%A8%E3%82%81

If this is all, and we're getting all of them...then January 20th will see the final release.

February 3rd will see the first repeat.

I should note that according to that wiki, ALL of the Japanese releases are now up and running simultaneously on Japanese servers.  Again, I didn't pay close enough attention before.  I guess I was a little rushed and I'm trying to slow myself down a bit now.

Are we sure it isn't Sunderball? I swear I got a Sunderball or ten.

I haven't found one yet.  Silktail used the name Sunderball on GameFAQs as well, so I'll switch it to that name instead.  Thanks Mystical One.

Corrected in both FAQs now.  They'll see the fix upon the next releases.

I thought I'd test this here, and if you're paying any attention to this thread clusa, some of this may be useful information for you.  Though much of it has yet to be properly filled in, as I've only started to collect such data.

this can wait until Monster Meadows, so not really

Keep Post Reward/Recruit? = Yes, definitely, until Monster Meadows is fully
unlocked.  The Seed of Strength drop rate from the
moles is simply astounding, and by far the best in
the game.  Exp rate is decent, and low at the same
time, making it a great farming and vocation

I should hopefully be through the last one from last week, and everything from the current week soon enough.

Darn, the splitter looks so much prettier in notepad.  I'll have to come up with something else to place at either end of each bar that separates each dlc map.

Can anyone think of any other useful info to gather?

I considered the items, but they're pretty much the same each time.

1) one of the two herbs

2) one of the two magic healing potions

3) gold up to 600

4) maybe a pilchard cracker or pie (like 10 maps, most of them crackers)

5) maybe a bunny tail or a scale armour (like 15 maps, most of them scale armour)

6) maybe a meaty treat or tombola ticket

Layouts...or each individual map?  Not that interested, though I'd wager you'll probably have that in your faq clusa, which would be cool to see, it just doesn't serve much of a purpose in my own.

So this is interesting...

The monsters brought in from other DQs, and I've only checked DQ6 related...borrow directly the same resistance tables.  So at least one DQ version of each monster in the DLC exclusive maps, with DQ7 type resistance tables, is probably used, and likely the last/closest DQ.  If no DQ is available, and it's a brand new monster, then I have to figure out what it is.

I'll have to make a simple list of each DLC monster entry, and work backwards from there.  Put out a list of potential resistance tables if they're different between different DQ's.  I wonder how 9 and 10's will be handled.  I imagine ice = ice breath, fire = fire breath, lightning = frizz/sizz/bang as a group, light = zap (of course), dark = nothing as it doesn't exist in 7, earth = nothing as it doesn't exist in 7, water = maybe maelstrom?, not sure how strike would be represented, that makes an issue for crack, as ice breath and crack are lumped in together as a single element in the new system.  I guess the same really goes for Frizz and Sizz, as they could be lumped in with fire breath, as they are in 9.  I'll have to figure that out.  Good thing 9 has a lot of borrowed, so likely very few from 9 will be present.  I mean so far it's been 1~6 and 10, and I think one from 8?

Anyway, I'll get to work on that later, I have to get dressed and go out for a movie....and I'm not. I didn't pay attention to release dates, and Rogue One isn't out yet.

Oh, btw, if you haven't seen Doctor Strange yet, for pete's sake, see it!  Same goes for Arrival.  Those are two astoundingly fun, well written, well executed movies.  Great acting, cinematography, special effects, etc, storyboarding, music...they're just superb movies with a lot of profound elements and thought provoking questions about life and the universe.

I'm collecting this info:

-Monsters in tablet (and whether they are DLC exclusive, as well as whether they are recruitable)

-Original English distributon dates

-Reccomended level on Nintendo's site

-Boss item drop

-Wave # of tablet

Do you think I should try to get anything else? Is that enough to make for a decent colection of info?

And that info in the spoiler did help, thanks.

Since you're focusing almost exclusively on DLC tablets, I would consider the Tablet Reward (it's not the boss drop if that's what you're referring to).

I would also consider notes like how difficult certain enemies are.  Like distinctions in difficulty that pinpoint which tablets lower level player should be wary of.  Maybe even certain basics like specifically useful status effects for either those underleveled or those at/over the right level to handle said tablet.

Maybe some info on certain bosses since a few can be a bit of a pain.

Some tablet bosses are only unique to tablet bosses, so that might help people who wish to have everything.

I mean it's up to you what info would satisfy your needs.  For me, I like it all.  Eventually the entire section will be pretty well filled out.  I haven't gotten to that point.  I'll wait until they cycle back around again before getting in deeper.  Length/size/number of treasures, types of treasure in each one.  Etc.

I still need to break down Headache's resistances.  It's a new monster (I checked a few sites, but it still maybe DQX? I haven't checked yet, but maybe DQM?), at least to the main series from what I can find.

I'll probably do better at keeping track of things with the next set. I've gone through all of them released thus far for completion's sake, for the Monster Meadows mainly.

Me too.  Doing this for 3 different playthroughs simultaneously is a bit insane though, lol.  I kind of take up my entire free time as a result.

If they actually do recycle, I may just delete a save and start over again, this time do a serious "fun" playthrough instead of how I've handled things so far.

Who was it that asked about why they had an over 200 buff from Buff or Kabuff?

Mario / Jay / Stepchan?  I can't recall.

Anyway, I figured out the issue.  It's not a bug at all, it has to do with being sapped.  Buff/Kabuff cancels Sap in this version.

In the original, it would just tack on +buff amount just like in DQ's 3~6.  So if you had 100 Defense, was Sapped to 50, and Kabuffed +25, you'd have 75 Defense.

In this version, it negates the debuff (same goes for enemies), and the value shown is the "Sapped" value + the Buff/Kabuff value.

So if you have 200 Defense, are Sapped to 100, then use Kabuff, you'll see +150 for that character.  If you have 500 Defense, and are Sapped down to 250, the first Kabuff will be +375 defense.

===

Another interesting bit.  Helm Splitter with a 2x attack weapon will only show the first Sap, but will allow both Saps to trigger on each hit, it won't stack them in the view screen or the text window.  The second one is behind the scenes.

I'll do what I can to help, and I'll start by seeing if I can find the new Headache monster anywhere

If you can find out if it even does exist somewhere else, that would be cool.  I'm putting in a list for each DLC monster, at least the mainline games they appear in, if they do appear in them.

Here's Headache's stats (minus Poof/Death, which are negated for all tablet bosses, at least the DLC, not positive on crafted tablets):
