Curses! My PS4 Just Died

Recommended Posts

I got error code CE-34335-8

Either my PS4 HDD died, got corrupted or the SATA connection is broken on the PS4 itself.

It at least was the perfect excuse to finally pick up a USB-3 HDD dock so I can test it out.  If the issue is the HDD itself then I'll probably just buy a new HDD myself, maybe a 1.5 or 2 TB drive.  If it's the PS4 though then I'll have to send it in to Sony and have them fix it for $149.

Hope it is just the drive, I just updated my PS4 from the 500GB to 2 TB drive, nice to have the extra room

Ouch.  I don't have a PS4 atm, but hopefully it is just an HDD problem.

Damn. Mine is only 10 months old, I'd be pissed if something broke! Hope yours turns out ok. How long have you had it?

I've had it since launch day so I'm not too upset, largely because I know just how often HDDs like to die.  I suspect it's FAR more likely to be an issue with the HDD itself than the PS4.

I'll know once my HDD dock arrives and I can test it out.  I'm also not too upset due to the fact that I have been meaning to upgrade the PS4 to a 2 TB drive.  Just waiting to find out what size HDD the Neo will come with.

When my first PS3 died, my reaction was a lot more than "curses." It was similar to this, except uncensored.

Yeah, that would have been my reaction if I didn't play almost completely on PC and I didn't have the PS4 Pro now pre-ordered and a bunch of EBGames giftcards to essentially make the system cost me about $150 in total, the same cost that I would have to pay to have Sony fix my PS4.

Well, that PS4 Pro seems like it a good deal for you! Now the two month wait begins!

Yeah, the wait will be tougher on my wife than me.  She plays the PS4 more often than I do.

Of course I'm sure my heart is going to hurt when Builders releases.  But hey, I may be able to get my PS4 working again if I format the HDD in it once the dock arrives, or perhaps I can just put in a small cheap HDD to last me until the Pro releases.  We'll see.

Man, if my PS4 dies anytime this year, it will get replaced immediately, as I am extremely excited about that game! Just 32 more days left!

My Xbox 360 DVD Drive just died last week. I have it for 5 great years and never had any problems before, so I'm not mad at my old friend, just upset. The C6 Capacitor and R1 Resistence just exploded while I was replaying Bioshock Infinite by the hundredth time.

Sent the drive to this guy in São Paulo who's supposed to be a console repair specialist. Still waiting for a response.

Hope we both have a happy ending, bro. =)
