Really hooked on DQ8 Android Version

Recommended Posts

I am really hooked on the Android version of DQ8 now, to the point where I cant put the game down. I will def beat everything on this game just like when I play it on PS2, like Monster Arena, Casino, all Medals and Chests, all Infamous Monsters, etc.

I love the changes they made with Fighting Wisely in battle mode, I dont always need to control my characters if I am just wanting to fight.

And I am really loving how the Alchemy Pot is instant with no waiting. On the PS2 version I always had something in the Alchemy Pot since it took so long to make stuff. Now I can create multiple items at the same time like Strong Medicine.

I love all the menu changes too like hitting the button that lets you run continuously, and the Zoom Icon.

I miss the voice acting, especially yesterday when I first made it inside of Morrie's Monster Arena, but I understand why they couldn't include it. Hopefully voice acting will be back on the 3DS version, although some of the characters like Jessica might have new voice actors.

I am glad I did not get this game on my Android Phone, and instead waited till I got a 10 inch Tablet. The larger screen makes it much better, plus I got the game for free from Amazon.

I've only ever played it on a phone, I've heard that it looks really nice on a Tablet.

I love that you can actually see your skill trees in this version too.

It looks great on a tablet, I probably wouldn't like playing this game on a smaller phone.

Yeah skills menu is another great feature. As well as getting world and Dungeon maps immediately, instead of having to wait to find them.

I also love how the map display is on the screen corner.

Why would Jessica have a new voice actor? Can't they just reuse the voices from the PS2 version?

Because Jessica was voiced by Jaimi Barbakoff in Dragon Quest Heroes instead of by Emma Ferguson (Jessica's voice actor in Dragon Quest VIII). And there are brand new scenes involving Jessica in the Nintendo 3DS version of Dragon Quest VIII.

I got the game for my tablet when it was free but unfortunately it runs really slow... Does anyone know if there's a graphics setting in the game? If not, I'll just buy it for PS2

There isn't a graphics setting in the mobile version.

You can also wait for the Nintendo 3DS version, which is coming next year, with brand new content.

I wish I could play it on my tablet! I downloaded it not too long ago when they made the game free, but I guess my version of the Kindle Fire doesn't support it </3

I'm looking forward to playing it when I get a more recent one.
