Quest #154 - Creature Class Creation Competition

Yep, this is pretty similar to the quest getting ready to end entries this weekend.  Let's give it a go!

 

With a vocation-heavy game full of monster hearts like DQVII just a couple short months away, it's time to add to the monster vocations in the DQ Universe (DQU).

 

Here are the rules:

1) You can submit a maximum of 3 monster entries for this contest.  Entries may be:

- a new monster that you create or

- a monster from the DQU that doesn't currently have a monster heart/class in DW7
2) You must post your entries directly in this thread, using the form I've created below. Copy, paste, and fill in the blanks. There are
 required parts and optional parts.

3) If you choose to do monster art and we have 3 or more users submit there own ORIGINAL art with their vocations, we will have a separate Quest and vote for the best artwork. There will be 1 artwork winner.
4) You have until
 Friday, August 5th to submit your entries for this contest.
5) You may NOT use a monster class that was accessible by a monster heart in Dragon Warrior VII. Here is the list of the monster hearts in the game.

6) Spells and Skills may come from the DQU or you can make them up yourself. Find links to DQ Skills here. Fell free to add as little or as much description about each as you'd like.

7) No human classes/vocations allowed
8)The people who provide the top three submissions will be the winners of this contest.

Monster Title: WhiteKing

Description: The original king of the Undead, the WhiteKing was a man who died on the throne but never surrendered his power. He clings to his staff for support, maintaining his dignity and grace as best he can. He deplores the Wight King for attempting to steal his monogram, and holds a bitter grudge to this imposter.

 

(Side note: The WhiteKing is based on his Dragon Quest 5/Dragon Warrior Monsters 1 & 2 appearance, NOT the Dragon Quest 8 artwork/version)

 

Monster Heart Drop Rate: 30%

Monster Heart Location: Appears in the second post game dungeon, rare encounter alongside PlatKings (or Platinum King Jewels)

 

Mastery Bonus: Undead enemies will not target you; will boost defense to +10%

Spells or Abilities Learned at:

Level 1 - No ability learned

Level 2 - Kafrizzle

Level 3 - Kaboom

Level 4 - King's Call - Summons an undead ally to aid the party. Summons either a Hork, DeadNoble, Zombie Dragon, or CaptDead

Level 5 - No ability learned

Level 6 - Moonlight Fright - Calls forth a false moon to distract the enemy for 2-5 turns. Has a high chance of causing sleep; any enemies who fall asleep to this skill will be attacked by the WhiteKing and any summoned allies.

Level 7 - Magic Burst

Level 8 - King's Degree - At the cost of all but 1 HP, you will perform a powerful burst attack. If killed on that turn, you will revive by the end of the turn with 1 HP.

Description: This little guy likes running around with his crown on telling all the other PlatKings what to do.  Of course they're all so fast, they go running the second they see the little brat coming their way.

Monster Title: Box slime

 

Description: Silly she-slimes that don't want to pay for their trips, so they try to sneak in the storage crates found in wagons. Being in a box for too much time gave this slime it's peculiar shape.

 

Monster Heart Drop Rate:  52,5%

 

Spells or Abilities Learned at:

 

Level 1 - Spell: Buff - Greatly increases the defence of a single ally for 4 to 7 turns. 2MP

 

Level 2 - Skill: Flame Breath -  Blows fiery breath at all enemies. 0MP

 

Level 3 - Spell: Frizzle - Burns a single enemy with a large fireball. 4MP

 

Level 4 - Spell: Kabuff -  Increases the defence of all allies for 4 to 7 turns. 4MP

 

Level 5 - Skill: Body Slam - Deals heavy damage to the target and the user. 0MP

 

Level 6 - Spell: Kafrizz - Incinerates a single enemy with a huge fireball. 7MP

 

Level 7 - Spell: Kamikazee - Sacrifices caster's own life in an attempt to destroy all enemies. 1MP

 

Level 8 - Spell: Kafrizzle - Cremates a single enemy with an enormous fireball. 12MP

Description: Lizardly lords with incredible bulk and terrifying talons. Using this monster class means your foes will have to contend with your high power fire breath, and claws before even getting a chance to swing at your thick scales.

Monster Title: Metal King Golem
Description: Looking similar to a walking set of Metal King equipment, this legendary golem was renowned for his speed, power, and wealth.
Monster Heart Drop Rate: 1/16 (per shard)

Monster Heart Location: Occasionally a heart shard will drop from Gold Golem or Metal King Slime monsters in the post-game. 8 shards complete a heart.

Special Ability: All abilities learned through this class cost 0 MP while using this class.

Spells or Abilities Learned at:

Level 1 - Ironize (2MP)
You and your allies turn into lumps of metal that are immune to all attacks & magic for 1 round.

Level 2 - Guardian (0MP)
Stand mightily before your allies and take all enemy attacks.

Level 3 - Flash (0MP)
The sunlight gleams off of your orichalcum surface and blinds your enemies, reducing their accuracy for one round.

Level 4 - Tremor (15MP)
Stomp the ground with incredible force and split the earth! All grounded enemies are subject to an instant death effect.

Level 5 - Focus (0MP)
Skip your action this turn and take two actions next turn.

Level 6 - Kinship (20MP)
Two random monsters arrive to help, one from the Golem line and the other from the Metal Slime line.

Level 7 - Meditate (0MP)
Calm your mind and restore your body. Recover 500 HP.

Level 8 - CritCrazy (50MP)
In a display of ultimate speed and ultimate strength, unleash three critical hits! This ability can only be used during a round with Focus in effect and takes up both actions.

Special Ability: Attack each turn in addition to selected action.

The pathetic attempts of heroes are minor amusement to you. (Does nothing.)

Level 2 - EerieEye (8MP)
Your gaze renders an enemy unconscious, regardless of resistance to sleep effects.

Level 3 - DeMagic (0MP)
Dispel all magic effects.

Level 4 - HellBlast (25MP)
Call horrific lightning from the underworld to destroy all that stand in your path.

Level 5 - WhiteAir (0MP)
The movement of your wings releases bitter cold.

Level 6 - EvilSlash (0MP)
An all or nothing attack that leaves foes reeling.

Level 7 - TakeLife (15MP)
A strong attack that gains life equal to the damage dealt.

Level 8 - BossCycle (50MP)
Three spells/abilities from this class are used at random without using additional MP; if BossCycle is selected this way it is replaced with a standard attack. Using this ability does not trigger the special ability of this class.

Description: Not Jigglypuff is a round, pink ball with pointed ears and large, blue eyes. It has rubbery, balloon-like skin and small, stubby arms and somewhat long feet. On top of its head is a curled tuft of fur.
