Is there a place to go to explain what glitches and such were used?

Also, I love the 9 minutes of gaining levels after that metal babble fight.

The thread for the TAS submission can be found here: http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=17658

The author left a bunch of comments in excruciating technical detail of what's going on here.
There are several major bugs in the game being exploited here.

Bug 1: Ability to walk around with an entirely dead party

Normally, having a party being entirely dead or numb immediately causes you to lose.  This is usually checked in many different places, such as when you take damage in battle, become numb in battle, take damage from swamp tiles, etc.  However, there are two places they forgot to do this check:  When removing healthy characters from the party, or when using the Dream Ruby (causes Numb status immediately with no check).
Also, if your party is entirely dead or numb, checks that prevent you from having a dead party will fail.  You can remove the numb party members, and end up with an entirely dead party.
There's also a glitch if your entire party is dead or numb if you do the "fortune telling" scene in Assaram.  Normally, it picks the first living party member, but if your entire party is dead or numb, it will simply pick the first party member instead, giving you a dead party consisting of one member.

Bug 2: After having an entirely dead party, the game checks if out-of-range characters step on damaging tiles and 'damaging' them by subtracting 2 from something that's not HP, thus corrupting their stats (inventory, spells known, return destinations, etc)

Really complicated ASM stuff here, I documented this a long time ago.  But it's trying to give swamp damage to up to 256 different characters due to you having no living party members.  Party members beyond the fourth are all just different stats.

Bug 3: Freezing the RNG (Random Number Generator) by crafting a save file with a specific checksum

This is the new one, I hadn't seen it before.  The game's RNG does double duty, it's also used by the saved game checksum.  Normally, the RNG has a period of about 8 million.  But there are two save game checksums that produce a frozen RNG, and the game doesn't check for them.

Also in the thread, the author revealed a character name for Dragon Warrior II that freezes the RNG and causes no random encounters.  Name your hero TUT and set the message speed to fast.  Even the random-moving townspeople only walk south.  The game crashes when you get into the first forced battle at Lianport vs. the gremlins.  edit: Any Saving ends the effects of the glitch.
