I'll laugh if they leave Flower in.

So far, we know:

Maribel = Maribel

Kiefer = Kiefer

Mervyn = Melvin

Ruff = Gabo

Estard = Estard

Altrades Abbey = Dharma Temple

Numen = God

Fragment = Shard

Am I missing anything?

It was noted earlier in the thread, but we also know that Fishbel is Pilchard Bay. :)

Only a few of these are actually confirmed though.

Maybe they'll change Melvin/Mervyn's title from "Soldier of God" to "Knight of Numen." Cause alliteration and stuff.

Well, it also depends on how they handle Numen.  Numen might be just a name, and God the title...we'll have to see.

True. I just felt like sharing that title cause I thought of it earlier and honestly really liked it. Seemed like it would be a good new title for Melvin.

Haha, that does seem like something you'd see in a Dragon Quest translation. I think they'll do something similar to that :)

Knights who say Numen

YES!

Most likely, since those are the new spell names. Though we can never know for 100% until they show us ;)

Undoubtedly, as they've been using that localization style since 2005, even across 3 separate companies (Plus Alpha, 8-4 and Shloc)

Geeze, Ruff is too much onomotopea for me.

Isn't Gabo onomatopoeia-ish as well?

"Gabu" is supposedly the sound for biting sounds in japanese, so "Ruff" makes sort if sense from that point of view.

They made female versions of the Conk family?

Yes. I believe they were introduced in the Professional version of Joker 2.

Edit: Scratch that, it was the original version of Joker 2.

Yeah and I even have three of them individually (their pictures I mean, not in-game), apparently they come one by one in DQM Super Light.

BTW Nice Bertrand avatar YangustheLegendaryBandit! =)

Thank you. I was hoping to find one of his half smiling portraits, but no dice.

Haven't really played the monster series(outside of trying the Gameboy version for a little bit). They're kind of cute(The originals are too), I'd like to see them in a main game.

And I'd like to see Dimensaur/the Dimensional Dragon in a main game, but the chances of that happening are slim to none.

The 7th game does have some monsters that originated from the Monsters series. The Drakslimes are one example, as far as I can tell.

Edit: The Dimensional Dragon does look pretty neat.

Reminds me of the Mega Flygon scenario.

"We thought about Mega Flygon. It would be so cool! We just didn't know how to implement it, unfortunately."

I wonder if Nintendo hired Hajime Tabata for OR/AS... I remember when the above statement (although I think the wording might be a bit off) was uttered by them in an interview. Sounds like something he'd say.

Hajime Tabata?
