8-25-2015 - The Day Square Enix Lost the Benefit of the Doubt

Recommended Posts

Hey, nothing wrong with porn. Hell, the best Dragon Quest game that was released in the past couple years happens to be a fan porn game. I mean that unironically.

Maybe we should train each other to focus on topics better.

There are some here that might like that...perhaps a little too much.

Afterall, this is Woodus' Den.  The DEN of Dragons, which in the yore of history, are men of a family line known to chain people up and "do things" to them.  I'm onto your secret Woodus!  I know your real purpose for this site!  Eal is an eel indeed!  Always slithering through topics, picking up on the vulnerable weak spots, ready with his whip.

Well that wasn't a stretch.

Anyway, back on topic. F**k Square Enix, praise Lord Healix, long live Dragon Quest, amen.

I'm glad someone out there asked. I mean I was sitting here all alone reading the Den and suddenly porn was being talked about with DQ and boom: here it is like a couple hours later!

If I win the island, I'm naming it Localize More Dragon Quest Games Island

BEST PLAN

You could even make it a nation and lobby with the UN for DQ games :D

But um, back to the lecture at hand. Perfection is perfected, so I'ma let 'em understand.

It would be nice to see more journalists, especially those already in the in with Square Enix ask them these tough questions. They write plenty of press release rehashes, but when it comes to an actual interview, few step up to the task. Please, do a real interview instead of being jerks on Twitter or whining about some lame titty game maybe five people tops will buy.

Yeah, I doubt that would ever happen. It seems like a lot of gaming publications are too close to companies like SE to portray them in a negative light. Maybe one or two journos with some integrity might be willing to step to the plate, but who knows if they even see this matter the same way we do? We're viewing things through the Dragon Quest spectacles, so it's easy for us to see how SE mismanages their funds. Sadly, there are still a lot of SE fans who are happy so long as the newest Final Fantasy is being brought to America.

Then again, I could be wrong. It's sad we have to sit and wonder whether or not journalists will do their job and represent the fanbase properly.

That's the thing, though. You can be honest and ask tough questions without being an $#!&$#!.

Well, of course. I wasn't meaning that you couldn't do it without being an ass. I just meant that it's the trend for journalists to be in bed with game devs these days.

Winning an island sounds like something my 3 year old would suggest as a contest reward.

I wasn't planning on getting Just Cause 3, but because of the chance of an island...I'll be first in line.   :P

Please...please don't encourage Pre-Order Culture. Especially this type.

If people want to win an island, they will pre-order, Darck.

I mean, AustNerevar.

Besides, I am sure Ragnar was just being sarcastic. He already owns an island. :P

I have DQ Heroes pre-ordered, but I think that's fair game because it's a localization of a game that's bee nreleased and had the kinks ironed out already.

Which isn't quite the same as pre-ordering rushed AAA games.

I've never heard of this game. Or part 2. Or part 1.
