DQ water monsters?

Recommended Posts

There's the living tidal wave monster from 5 (or 6).

Water as in stuff that belongs in water?

There are plesiosaurs, starfish, fish, undead fish, seagulls, mermen, squids, octopi, a few other dinosaur types, and there are some others I can't think of at the moment.

The reason I asked this, is because I want to change my avatar to a DQ water element based monster enemy, that is feminine looking.

Feminine monsters are pretty rare in general(granted I'm not sure how you'd make an non-humanoid monster look 'feminine' to begin with)

I guess Siren would qualify but she doesn't really scream 'water enemy' when you see her.

She also has a pretty evil and twisted smile.

Why not the actual Water Spirit from Dragon Quest VII?

She looks kind of like this:

Dragon%2BQuest%2BVII%2B-%2BThe%2BFour%2BDragon%2BQuest%2BVII%2B-%2BWater%2BSpiri

Or you could try a customized female Weddie from Dragon Quest X.

I forgot the Water Spirit was female. I thought the Wind Spirit was the only female spirit in that game...I guess her personality made the biggest impression on me.

Which reminds me a terrible joke I made. Okay, guys play along:

"Why is the Wind Spirit considered to be such a huge slut?"

Reminds me of the Zora people from Zelda.

It's not really made of water, but my favourite is the Strongylokrotaphus from DQV. I mean, what the hell is it?

All joking aside, I really hope they don't change her character in the new localization (if we're getting it). I really liked the fact that this legendary god-like spirit had a voracious sexual appetite. Instead of the cliched "bring me virgins!" male deity, we got a female one who was unashamed of herself. As badly written as DW7's original translation was, there were a lot of funny little moments like that.

This little gem, for example:

LOL, yeah, I have to admit, I always like the Wind Spirit.  The Aqua Spirit is more level headed, but the Wind Spirit is certainly comical and distinct in gaming trends.

Say what you will about the DQ7 translation, but it was comical in parts.

 I actually missed that one! I actually liked a lot of DQVII's original translation. The party chat there had so many great one-liners and comments.

Some of the highlights I copied down.

Kiefer – Might as well join the fun. Why don’t you try talking to a girl for a change. Maybe you can shed that FairyRat image of yours. Ha Ha Ha!.

Maribel – I swear that mind of his is filled with nothing but girls. He didn’t take his eyes of Layla for a second back there. Sigh. Am I not pretty enough for you guys or something. I need a stiff drink.

Gabo – Huh? Drink? Hey, let me go with you.

-----------------------------------

Gabo – Damn, what’s in this jar? This stuff will put hair on your paws.

-----------------------------

Kiefer - That serving wench really did love Iwan.

Maribel - You just figured it out? What an idiot. I knew about it from the start.

Gabo - Don't ask me. Women confuse me.

--------------------------------------

Maribel - My clothes are drenched. This is all Dave's fault. All of it.

Kiefer - Shut up Maribel. Know your place fisherman's daughter. You're like a little kid.

Maribel - Oh shut up you halfwit. I'm not one of your subservient wenches.

------------------------------------------

Maribel - You and the prince need to give Pepe a good talking to.

Kiefer - Do it yourself.

----------------------------------------------------------------

Gabo - So Balrock is the male version of Maribel?

Maribel - Gabo! I heard that you nasty boy! How in the world could a pretty girl like me become anything like a feeble disgusting old man like that?

Gabo - Yikes, you heard me? I didn't mean it!

------------------------------------------------

Kiefer – Think about it. This place is crawling with nothing but women. Wouldn’t you want to live in a place like this? (Yes) Eh Heh Heh. Isn’t that the truth. If we lived here, I bet we’d be real popular.

Maribel – Hold it right there Kiefer, Don’t you lead Dave down the path of unfulfilling hedonistic excess.

------------

Maribel - Dave (Hero), it's amazing that you always create your opinions independent of reason. She's not even all that attractive.

--------------

Maribel - I understand helping small children, furry animals, and even the elderly, but it's so infuriating when you out of your way to lend a hand to young ladies, Dave.

-----------------

After the princess makes a move on the hero...

Maribel - "Dave, you're face is all red. What the hell were you doing in there, you jerk?"

There was a moment in the Engow hot springs where if you talk to an old lady who's bathing in the water, then do party chat, Gabo will simply say "I saw something terrible."

It was such a brief and unexpected line that it had me dying laughing.

There's also the Puff-Puff that takes place in that game. And the old man at Dharma Temple who wants to become a bunny girl

and eventually does after you beat the game
