Version 3.0 information

OK, after looking through this topic, I have a few questions about V3:

Sugoroku: Is it really challenging to fight the bosses at the end? Like, do you want to be on your best class and with a premade party?

Monster pets: Did they add any new ones after the Cabinet Mimic and Dracky?

How hard is the Mystery Tower? Do you need to bring low-level gear with you to complete it, or does it scale your current equipment down as well?

- Sugoroku is a board game that is played with other people (no AI). Players always start out as a lv1 minstrel, and can randomly change classes if they land on a Dharma Temple square. Until a player rolls to change into a priest you should keep 2 people as minstrel.

- No new monsters. They did expand the amount of space we get.

- You can't take anything in with you to the Mystery Tower. It's designed to be playable by anyone regardless of their current level/equipment. You start out as a lv1 version of the class you entered the tower with, and have default equipment.

That all sounds pretty good. To be clear, by premade party, I meant do you want to have friends with you when you play sugoroku, or is it doable with random other people in the game, like the other casino things?

Looks like we can expect new info on the later part of 3.1 on October 10th, during a ten hour long DQXTV:  http://hiroba.dqx.jp/sc/topics/detail/6cfe0e6127fa25df2a0ef2ae1067d915/

You can play it with a premade team of 1 - 4 people (though I highly recommend 4) by sitting down at an empty table, or with randoms by speaking with an NPC at the top of the stairs near the entrance to the bingo hall

I didn't watch most of DQXTV today, or rather I didn't watch most of the major update information, so I can only really go by the wiki page:

http://ドラクエ10.jp/dq10_version3.1a_3.html

Lv cap increase 85 -> 90

- Quest in Orphea East

8 New Colors at the beauty palour

Monster Arena co-op play

- Looks to be a limited event. 10 day period.

- Rapid Battle Mode, which lets your group fight multiple battles provides a Victory Box reward (no details on the contents)

- Special Challenge mode lets you fight a special opponent. Each day a new opponent will be available.

5 Space Lithographs

- Pretty much the details before, except there is also a low chance of obtaining a 5 space board when revealing a ? board. Please do note that depending on the cost to upgrade a board to a 5 space board that obtaining a nearly perfect 4 space board is way more likely than getting a perfect 5 space board. My light board going from half complete to complete (after upgrading the boards of course) within 5 reveals yesterday is proof of that.

- You obviously cannot upgrade a revealed 5 space board to a 6 space board. 5 is the max for now.

New Reincarnation Monsters

- For Dracky and Cabinet Mimic

New spells and skill changes for classes

- Evac on Magic Knight

- Oomph on Item Master (oh yeeeeaaah!)

- Insulatle on Ranger (able to make the party breath immune AND raise their breath resistance to help deal with those multi-hit breath attacks!!! Oh yeeeeeeaaah!)

- Whip skills now reflect added effects via alchemy. Like atk/def down on hit, etc.

- Item Masters Shield and Medical Device circles are bigger.

Tamed Monsters

- Adding Charge Time skills to older monsters (Super Falcon Slash, Kafrizzle), etc.

Extreme enemy contents

- 1 fight per day, reward is strong equipment?

- Fought in a special boss room so no cheering possible. Time limit 20min.

- Depending on the dark energy setting of the day the boss strength will vary.

- The highest level of strength bosses will exceed Killer Crimson in difficulty... and you have to win WITHOUT CHEERING! Not touching this with a 50ft pole. kthx.

- Contents are the same for everyone each day.

Treasure pictures

- Related to the mining job being added.

- You'll receive a picture of a spot where treasure is buried and have to go dig it up. Pictures are party-wide so you can hunt together.

- Won't be aded until ~2 weeks after the update.

- Mining guild is in Gatara (please note that this has been advertised as being like fishing. So you shouldn't need to quit any professions to take up mining)

Yellow Diary

- Fancy way of saying: Introduce yourself to all of the important NPCs

- There will be a new NPC in the regular towns of v1 (Glen, Jullet, etc.)

- NPCs you need to talk to will have their names highlighted in yellow. Talks of ruura stone reward, probably for talking to everyone.

Title system change

- New Keywords added when obtaining titles, defeating monsters, etc to allow you more customization in your title. So you can create a title using your favorite NPC's name, and so on.

Private Concierge Beauty Parlour

- Now you can truly treat your butler/maid like a dress-up doll... you twisted person.

- Tickets cost 200k casino coins! Ouch, better be sure sure you get it right then!

2 Person Dolboard

- Available via SP Lottery #1 prize. Gonna be pricey...

New hairstyles

- 2 per race/gender! Will I finally be able to switch between human and Ogre and like my look? Who knows?!

New flowers

- Obviously for the new colors

- Also a random system where fairies can appear at your garden. If they do, the next seed you plant will provide 2x the output.

SP Lottery overhaul

- 10x DRAW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

- #1 added 2 person dolboard

- #2 Metal King coin x3 or Gold Slime coin x3 (changed from #3, added Gold Slime coins)

- #3 100 Minimedals (changed from #2)

- #4 Added Orb Perfume (no... gem... perfume? :cry2: :cry2: :cry2: :cry2: )

- #5 Added Blank card fragments. Get 3 of them to make a blank card.

A wild Kine appears!

- Said to be the self-proclaimed younger sister of Rine. Boooooooo BOOOOOOO!

- Allows you to take a coin boss accessory and break it into 10 fragments. !!

- Furthermore, 10 fragments of any coin boss accessory can be combined in the alchemy pot to make a blank card. Yes I do understand the irony of this update, shuddap.

Chance Skills

- At level 90, you can now do a new quest to unlock chance skills. They're similar to coup de grace, but not co-op de grace skills from DQ9.

- There will be 7 in total, and each class can use 2 of them.

Revealed skills:

ã’ãã‚Šã‚“ã®ã•ã¨ã‚Š: Faster cast speed and the next spell you use will auto-crit.

ç½ç¦ã®é™£: Places a circle that weakens enemies.

Dragon Soul: Oh HECK yeah!! Lightning based skill, also lowers wind resistance of enemies.

Grand Cross: Finally we get to use it!!! Wind based skill, also lowers lightning resistance of enemies.

And the rest:

- New Bashiruura NPC in Megistoris.

- More monsters have 40k+ daily hunt quests.

- New Halloween event revealed

- Christmas event hinted at... why this early? If you are going to reveal it have details too!

brb, getting paper bag to breathe into. Information overload.

...and already over it.  Bring on the content.   :)  Although a bit sad if the co-op Monster Arena stays limited.  Been looking forward to it for a long time.

Official details that may or may not have been mentioned during DQX TV were posted here a little while ago. Just going to skim through these details so if I miss anything. Blah, blah, don't care.

- There are only 6 chance skills in total not 7, 2 available per class.

- The ultra strong boss is the same boss monster every time but can have different strength each day. Everything obtained from him is weak equipment for looks only. So if you are looking for a super strong boss with fancy equipment that you can show off how strong you are to other players. This is the one for you.

- Lithograph (board) points from before the update will not be represented right away. They will be added about 1 week after the update.

Changes to the Mystery Tower

- A new NPC appears in the room before the boss fight if you wipe out twice or more to the boss. If everyone talks to this NPC, you can now leave the Mystery Tower without a 10 minute penalty. 'bout time.

- No more reskilling, you can now remove SP in the SP allocation screen while in the Mystery Tower. So when you need to switch weapons or to passive skills you can do all of it in the SP screen.

- Using the upgrade NPC is now possible on +3 equipment. It'll work like Rine, where the equip can't actually reach +4 but you can choose an effect to erase.

edit:

And... unfortunately, upon taking a closer look at that for some reason overly pixelated image of the co-op monster arena. It does indeed say that it is limited...

I've seen screens on another site of rather unexpected monsters showing up in these fights too. Dark Nebulas in the monster arena? Hell yeah it is!

OK bigger question about monster buddies/tameable monsters, and a smaller question about the sugoroku I forgot to ask before:

Tameable monsters: I see they can reincarnate/level reset crazy amounts of times now (like 8 or 9, and when I last played it was only maybe 5 or 6). Are their skills still capped at 100 points in a line, or can they go over if you've expanded the skill cap? Do you have to do a quest to expand their skill caps? Has there been any big change in the power levels of various monsters? Have they ever said anything about allowing more than one monster in your party at a time?

Sugoroku: What do you need to join the games? Do you get tickets, like bingo, or do you spend casino coins?

Monster skill cap is still 100.  The next update is supposed to be changing monster skills (adding charge-time ones).  You still can only bring one monster per person, per party (so max 2 atm, if you play with one other person), thought there is a Superboss that requires everyone to bring a monster, so that's 4 humans and 4 monsters for that fight.

To play Sugoroku, you need 3 Casino Play Tickets.  You get 3 every week now from the concierge, in addition to the bingo tickets and other stuff.  You can also use 1 Casino Play Ticket to play Bingo, so be careful not to accidentally use them there if you don't intend to.

Monster skill trees go up to 40 per tree  Their lines are different from player lines.

She's right, my bad.  Knew it was the baseline, but forgot it was different from the regular characters...lol.

Yeah, I forgot that too. But their skill caps are the same, OK. Was there any kinda big change in people's rankings/power overall for the monsters? I dunno if that makes sense really, but I mean like, is there a new "best" mage/fighter/healer monster or is it pretty much everything is the same, they're just all stronger?

I downloaded the phone app again and saw that I had some casino tickets waiting for me, so I can collect those. The phone app got lots of new cool features added and then took out a lot of the in-game interaction stuff like receiving/taking your concierge rewards. It's a good compromise, because before, the phone app virtually eliminated any need to log in to the game.

Oh sorry, one more question: I know they've got Metal Labyrinths and a second Rendasha weekly quest, but did they ever add more content to make leveling up other jobs a bit faster? I saw that you can use the Angel Slime hat on Beastmaster/Item master now, and it can go up to level 59 I think, so that's cool. But I'm really asking if they did anything to shake up the "kill Bazaks" leveling grind from a year or so ago.

But I'm really asking if they did anything to shake up the "kill Bazaks" leveling grind from a year or so ago.

Not really. That's why I don't have many classes at 85 (and honestly why I don't play as much as I should/used to). It's just too boring after a while. There might be a new target that people set for mass grinding, but other than just grinding the same monster, whatever it is, over and over, I'm not sure that there's much else when it comes to leveling. Once in a while you can happen upon a good lab grinding team, but for the most part it's just that.

OK, that part definitely is a big reason why I got bored with the game before. I guess there's always Kids Time on weekends/days off work.

Fortune Teller for v3.2 please?

Don't you worry Phanny. It's coming.

http://xn--10-yg4a1a3kyh.jp/dq10_version3.1a_4.html

3.2 info:

New story area: Different music on field maps than the previous one.

New super boss: Reward is an extremely strong accessory apparently.

Astoltia School: Yet more content that we can't enjoy due to language barriers.

New armor: lv85 sets

Fortune Teller

New quest: Apparently Historika is popular enough to get another quest.

But I'm really asking if they did anything to shake up the "kill Bazaks" leveling grind from a year or so ago.

Clear up to near the end of v2.3 to get the Alchemy pot.

Metal King Coin:

20x Metal Slime Coin + 10x flour (150 hours)

4x LMS Coin + 10x flour (150 hours)

Get the alchemy pot tired by doing quick 20 hour alchemy recipes, perk it up to reduce the time to 75 hours by setting it out for people to pet in Megistoris server 1, and you can make 2 per week. Set and forget it but don't forget to check in to replace the contents of the alchemy pot.

List of players not capped on everything that could do this as they have cleared v2.3 and would have 8 Metal King coins to run every week if they worked together:

- Avenger

- Claire

- Phanir

- Polantaris

...and many more.

Your frustration is due to a lack of people and too many of the people available not working together and complaining whenever anything has to come out of their pocket.

What happens when that happens? You end up doing solo grinding for hours and hours without end because you want to level and that's why Bazaks are somehow still a thing even though it is easy enough to anyone to earn several hundred thousand per week (buy a 40k daily every day) to provide more than enough funds for running a fair amount of Metal Kings (+ LMS coins if you want extra) every week.

I can offer some relief the weekend after the next level cap is released, but you guys really, really should start stockpiling Metal King coins if you have the alchemy pot and haven't started to already.

Do I have a Chimaera tamed?  I hope I have a Chimaera tamed.  But really, as someone who focuses more on his monsters than his own character, I'm loving these.

I really don't know what to do with my Battle Rex with that new flame breath skill line.  Too many options!

Edit:

So... I didn't have one, but crisis averted.

To be fair, I completely forgot about Metal King Coins, but that's because I've been stockpiling them since Fortune Teller was revealed so that I could quick level it to the cap. I have like 22-23 coins. Of course, I have less to complain about because of that, but it's still a very grindy game even with them. Plus it doesn't help that ever since Metal King Coins became alchemizable, the price for Metal Slime Coins (and now Liquid Metal Coins) have shot up through the roof and I'm not all that rich.

When Fortune Teller gets released, if I level it to cap and still have coins left over I'm definitely going to be using them on my other classes, but there's no way it's going to get me to cap across all the classes (even if I didn't use any on Fortune Teller), and after that I'm back where I started.

I do agree that a lot of people complain about everything coming out of their pockets, though. I had quite a few Liquid Metal Coins just sitting around until recently (when they became Metal King Coins), and I gave up on asking if anyone wanted to do runs because it was basically implied that they would supply very little, if any at all, and I just don't have the money to do that, and it's not really fair to anyone who would provide for an entire group like that. Phanir and I have done runs together a few times but it's a hell of a lot more productive with a full party, which doesn't seem to happen.

With the 90 cap next week you should see more runs soon. I'm almost 85 on my last two classes.

Not going to do a full-blown post this time, because the update is like a day away and I'm lazy, but there are a few rather awesome things in these details that weren't mentioned before:

- Storage NPC in the lobby area of the Mystery Tower! Finally!!!

- When in a room of the pyramid, the names will no longer be generic. It'll say in the map name which one you are in.

- No more Medal Rollers, can only open 10 blue chests per day. They completely killed it...

- It was said before, but still, 10 draw SP Lotto!!! The dream!! It's finally here!!! (No really: é•·å¹´ã®å¤¢ãŒã€€ã‚„ã£ã¨å½¢ã«ãªã‚Šã¾ã—ãŸâ€¦â€¦ã€‚Their words not mine!)

- Class change NPCs now let you switch to and from special training mode on all of your classes at once!

- New accessory フワフワメガムavailable from minimedals. Wearing these allows treasure chests with ãƒ•ãƒ¯ãƒ•ãƒ¯ã‚ãŸã‚¢ãƒ¡ to drop occasionally after defeating enemies. Up until now this item was only available if you managed to hire someone with a rare accessory available through an item code from like 2013. It's the item that increases your jump duration if you're having trouble dodging with jumps you will want to wear this accessory constantly to stock up.

- Recipe books available via minimedals are now sold at the respective worker guilds material shop.

- The effect of repellent is being increased. Make sure to use as much of it as you can to keep Torneko, Minea, and Kandar away from you!  :P  :P  :P

- Reskill orb (the normal one) is decreasing in price to 3k.

- Hiroba site will also have a few more things added: Mystery Tower progress, changes to the royal lab page to make important info easier to read, and the addition of a page that shows the effects you've sealed with sealing sand.

Some v3.2 related info:

- The first part of the patch is during the second half of December.

Wow, that's much sooner that I expected!  (^0^)/

New coin boss! Ruin!

https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CVSfv6rVAAAo-5V.jpg

His rather expansive moveset in DQ8 leaves only endless possibilities for how they will handle him here! He can "Attack" or "Miss"!

Still need to play DQ8 before I get too excited for these guys, other than new coin boss content, obviously.

One more year!!  (Thanks again, SE and Nintendo!!!)

http://xn--10-yg4a1a3kyh.jp/dq10_version3.2_1.html

As expected 3.2 will release on Christmas... Eve this time not Day! So 12/24.

- New area. I'm not really saying anything about this, seriously they've mentioned it quite a bit.

New "Super Boss" Area: é‚ªç¥žã®å®®æ®¿

- Located in the Randon Mountain Range Summit Area (the place you visit near the end of v1)

- Requires that you've cleared v2s final boss.

- 3 random conditions required to clear the battle (same for everyone) that refresh on the 10th and 25th. On those days the reward resets too.

- 8 person battle, automatching available.

- During the duration of 3.2 the enemies available to fight here will change

- Rewards unknown, but hinted at being previously unobtainable accessories.

The picture they showed of this area had the party squaring off against the True King of Destruction and Nokturnus AT THE SAME TIME.

New title

- Related to everyone's favorite forgotten Martial Artist Yang. Yes, he does still exist.

New reincarnated monster

- With dressup items.

Recruit-able monster power up

- Happiness cap 200 -> 300. What 300 does is unknown, but good lord could they make this any more of a grind?

- The original Item Master monsters are getting the same kind of treatment as the original Tamer monsters. New skill trees at 7 and 8 reincarnations.

Concierge

- Ability to store Scenario EXP rewards. Cuz, y'know, they didn't mention a stamp cap and the new class... so here's something to let us already capped players actually use that EXP.

Item Restrictions

- Tension Up items are now banned from use in Strong Boss battles. Guess they finally caught on to how stupid those TA contests were when you'd spend more than 10mil on these just to attempt to place.  :P  :P  :P  :P  :P  :P

Magic Labyrinth changes

- Some changes related to preventing card/coin terrorism. Mainly by changing when you lose coins and when leaving will cause a penalty.

edit:

Specifically, the following is true:

- You may now leave at the entrance without a penalty.

- Using cards/coins doesn't make them vanish from your inventory until you've left the entrance hall, if you leave before you'll get them back.

- It is now possible for every party member to use the same boss coin/card, so you can place up to 4 to use. edit: Also, there's nothing stopping 1 person from using 4 coins/cards.

- The reward will increase, and the strength of the boss remains the same. edit: Looking through more blogs, the number of red chests that appear will increase not the reward in them.

Mystery Tower changes

- Start with 100 SP

- MP does not recover after battle!

- Dying before the boss... well... I guess they're trying to remove the fun from the tower...

- You can now upgrade equips at the rest areas, costs money of course.

- Ability to go into the tower with 3 AI characters and ignore auto-matching... right after they removed the features that made AI slightly tolerable in the tower.

There are a lot more but these are the major changes for Tower.

Team Level cap 50 -> 55

Changes focused towards new players

- If you are lv30 or less, hiring AI is free.

- If you are lv20 or less, no gold is lost in a wipeout.

- Prices of low level weapons in towns are being decreased.

- After a wipeout, AI is revived with 1 HP.

Fishing

- New fish for the new area, including something quite awesome... that's a fish?!

- New treasure chest types that are harder to reel in but give better rewards (Blank Cards, lotto tickets)

- New items to trade for fishing coins. Including a new Scapegoat Coin that allows you to revive on the spot after dying to a coin boss.

A new NPC will appear randomly in housing areas to ask random questions to you and you can see what other players in your housing area answered. Be sure to answer the questions as "seriously" as possible, you wouldn't want your neighbours to think you're weird now would you? You don't have to talk to the NPC btw, this is just for fun.

New Armor sets - Along with new materials because we didn't get the new sewing material yet.

New MP recovery item, heals 90 MP and can be created through the alchemy pot.

New quests in 3.1 area.

It's finally here, the housing area in Rendashia!!

- Opening on January 14th

- M Size houses only, 100x4 available.

- Cannot use land tickets to claim

One of these amazing locations can be yours for the low, low, low price of 100,000,000 gold (price doesn't decline over time). Enjoy!

New coin boss

- Releasing in the middle of January. Figures.

Part 2 of the Fairy Library quest. Can't wait!

And of course, new events in the future with no details!
