DragonGaurdian 14
Personally, I'm hoping that Fennekin (so cute) evolves into a Fire/Psychic Kitsune-like Pokemon. Ninetails was alright, but not QUITE what I think a Kitsune Pokemon should be like.
Democrobot 1,013
My friend and I have been debating over Froakie. He think's that it'll be a Water/Flying type while I think that it'll be a Water/Fighting type. I think Fennekin will be Fire/Psycic We both think that Chespin will be a Grass/Ground type. Stepchan 192
I seen some do a possible comparison to Sha Wujing from the Journey to the West with Froakie.
Democrobot 1,013
I guess we'll be waiting to see more of the Pokemon in this. I want to see the evolved forms of the starters
Hardfunk 9
I think that a hint to the starters secondary types (if they have any) is in the second moves they use in the trailer. Chespin uses Night Slash so it may become Grass/Dark. Fennekin uses Psywave so it may become Fire/Psychic. Although I don't know what move Froakie uses, I'd be willing to bet it becomes Water/Fighting. They'd also create a neat double triangle of types where no starter has a true type advantage over the other

They'd also create a neat double triangle of types where no starter has a true type advantage over the other People said that Chespin could have used Aerial Ace instead. Notice that for every other attacks shown, we see the attacker and defender. Nigh Slash being a glorified Slash attack, and a Direct Contact Physical move, you should be able to see Chespin attacking Golurk, the same way you see Froakie attacking in the trailer. Froakie's move seems llike a priority move, like Quick Attack. That's what I'd like to see him as a priority move specialist, something like Fencing Fox, but with a Frog. If it is Water/Fight, it should be more like Infernape in term of stats.
Hardfunk 9
Yeah the background of Chespin's attack looks like Aerial Ace's as well. And a Water/Fighting priority specialist would be kind of neat as long as it's attack was high enough. I just pray Fennekin doesn't become part fighting...
Chanticleer Hegemony 67
I just pray Fennekin doesn't become part fighting... Of course not! Quadruped Pokemon don't become Fire/Fighting-types! Then again, Fire/Fighting's repetitive, anyway, so I'll be happy if Fennekin won't evolve into a Fire/Fighting type.
Democrobot 1,013
I'd like it if Chespin was a Grass/Fighting type. That'd be nice.
DragonGaurdian 14
Hmmm.... Grass/Fighting.... Yeaah, that hasn't been over-done (yet). So far there are only 2 Grass/Fighting types, namely Breloom and Virizion. One type paring I'd kinda' like to see would be something like....oh, I don't know.... ooh!- Grass/Dragon would be nice! So would a Fighting/Dragon. Or even Fighting/Flying!
Democrobot 1,013
Poison/Rock would be different. We need an Electric/Fighting Pokemon! That would be so cool*looks at Electrive and glares*

Then again, Fire/Fighting's repetitive, anyway, so I'll be happy if Fennekin won't evolve into a Fire/Fighting type. When it comes to Fire/Fighting, I was fine with both Blaziken and Infernape(both who I've trained on main teams before) being that combo. The Tepig line just made it one time too many(then there's it's awkward stat distribution, which is another story). Judging by Bulbapedia's origin section(which does use speculation, I'll admit), they listed that both Infernape and Emboar are possibly based on characters from Journey to the West. Infernape was compared to Sun Wukong(aka Son Goku) and Emboar was compared to Zhu Bajie. This could explain Fire/Fighting being used again, but still. Hardfunk 9
Yeah I don't have a problem with the starters themselves (I've trained one of all of them), I would just like their typing to be something different.
Gooptek 23
Poison/Rock would be different. -The rest of this post is not relevant to what I am about to say- That is my dream. I always liked Rock-types. I always liked Poison-types. What can be better than a Poison/Rock-type Pokémon? Konami got ahead of Game Freak with "Number 30: Acid Golem of Destruction", though... And something interesting to see would be a worm Pokémon. Not the regular variant, however. I mean the awesome variant.

Democrobot 1,013
A Dragon/Poison type would be cool. Kinda like a dragon guardian of a poison swamp.

Stepchan 192
Yeah, it's kind of why some are speculating Froakie's evos as Water/Fighting. Sha Wujing, the third character brought up from Journey to the West, is a Water Demon of sorts. He's able to battle underwater(something Sun Wukong couldn't do). Since the two previous Fire starters were part fighting(and have Chinese themes), others have speculated the possibility of Froakie being tied in with the others. Amos 6
I bug/dragon type would be kinda funny XD I wish dq had worldwide releases..... *Glares at DQM:J2 pro*
Democrobot 1,013
Perhaps a Ghost/Steel type would work. An old, rusty piece of machinery(like a robot or maybe a suit of armour) could be the home to a ghost.

Reminds me of this doubt I had in my mind for a few months, relating to Flygon. Is it true that Flygon and Salamence's name were swapped by mistake when Pokémon Ruby/Sapphire got released and then they kept those names for the foreverness of forever? Because if Salamance was named Flygon and vice-versa, that would make more sense. Think about it. -The spoiler is for lulz part only. (Unless you don't laugh. Then it's not lulz) If you are serious, don't read. Seriously.- Poison/Rock would be different. -The rest of this post is not relevant to what I am about to say- That is my dream. Yeah, it's got 3000 ATK and DEF, but you have to detatch 1 XYZ material from it each turn (or else you take 2000 damage). AND when it has no XYZ material left on it, it can't attack. .....Anyways, back to the 'Mons!
