So I found out what they meant by they added metal floors to the labyrinth. I just did a labyrinth and I had 2 metal floors in it. The first floor had 4 metal slime packs, and the third floor ahd 2 metal slime packs and 2 metal stack packs. That ended up providing 35k xp with a 10 minute genki for the entire labyrinth.

Looks like 0 days left is shown as  < 24 hours so I actually had another day to use. Stole a ring to use during boss fights instead of a sorcery ring and did some Cat Mage training.

I also have a follow up on green chests since there is a lot more information on them:

http://ドラクエ10.jp/dq10_memo57.html

- There are exactly 20 green chests with fixed contents and 20 Jade Keys so you can open them all.

- 10 of these keys are absurdly easy to obtain (9 black chests in 2.1 content + 1 for exchanging 30 minimedals)

- 2 are obtained through casino coins (3000, 5000)

- 3 are obtained through fishing points (3000, 5000, 10000)

- 4 are obtained through story quests.

The things you can obtain from the chests are as follows:

- Gold Casino Ticket: Exchange for 1000 coins in the casino (redundant, 2 keys are obtained through the casino)

- Power Ring (worthless, can be stolen and obtained several times in the 2.0 content, skip this)

- Royal Charm: 20% Ice and 20% Dark resistance (skip this, can be stolen)

- Venus Tear: 20% Elec and 20% Wind resistance (skip, can be stolen and 1 is found for free in 2.0 content)

- Dragon Charm: 25% Fire and 25% Light resistance (skip, can be stolen)

- 3x Skill Book: Exchange in Dharma Temple to give you 1 SP that can be used in any tree on any job. If you reset that skill, you will need to return to Dharma to place the SP again.

- 3x Seed of Sorcery: Increases Magic Might by 1

- 3x Seed of Magic: Increases max MP by 1

- 3x Seed of Life: Increases max HP by 1

- 3x Seed of Strength: Increases Strength by 1

As for what you should get first, it really depends on your own preference. Well, except for those completely worthless/redundant items and accessories in 5 of those chests.

The page also mentions that you can use ã¿ã‚„ã¶ã‚‹ to examine the chest before opening it. So for the love of god, put 18 SP in the Thief's skill tree before starting these.

All these upgrades, man, I should hurry up and finish my priest so I can finish the 2.0 content. :)

Green chests aren't the only way to obtain stat seeds, there are quests in the 2.1 content that give you a Seed of Defense, Seed of Deftness, and Seed of Agility. So my guess is that they will add things to obtain more of other seed types eventually.

edit:

Oh and btw, I happen to have 20 Super Genkidamas saved up from the long absence I took before my bus schedule changed and am playing a class that is easy to party with. So, uh, hintity hint hint.

I got 20 supers too.  Would be nice to find a party where we could all use em for a 2 hour run.  The only character I have to level is a LV 34 Item user though.

I've actually got 23 regulars since I never used some I got from passwords etc. :)

But I'm waiting for the LV release on the occupation stuff so I can use them all on that.

I still need to grind Luminary, Mage, Priest, Ranger and Sage, but I'd feel like a burden joining your party in one of those classes (no proper equipment, no SP on weapons). If a lvl. 62 Martial Artist would fit into your party, let me know, though. ;)

sounds good to me.  And if you're a preist, you probably don't even need equipmet.  It all depends on the target enemy though.

Must... reach... 2.1 content. MUST!

The difference between this spot and the old spot where Marine Slimes spawn is that they appear in groups of 2~4 instead of 2~3. This means you are more likely to run into a group of 3 or more. Granted this will require me to reskill my Item Master tree into Spears, but considering this spot earns almost triple the EXP I gain at Gorugaru I think I can overlook the minor detail of losing one 10 HP passive.

Of course I won't be using this spot until lv67, since crystallizing equips to earn tons of money while grinding at a reasonable pace is still a thing at Gorugaru.

What are you crystallizing to earn tons of money?  From what I've seen, with the prices people charge for stuff you would just barely make a profit.

Just a heads up, I'm currently at Reidametesu temple in the past if anyone needs to revisit that area. Not sure if that is still a thing.

I don't think so. From what I've been told people Juan just revisit it now.

I happened to have a bunch of gear from before people started thinking gear is worth 50% more than it actually is. +2 lv21/35 gear can still get you fair profits of about 1-2k per piece if you buy smart.

Oh and before I forget, here's another bit of awesomeness from that site:

http://dq1030.com/15611.html

Ignoring the fact that they were using EXP food that added another 30% EXP to their total... that's about 150k EXP for a genki.

Setup:

2x Warrior lv80 - Must be equipped with Apollo Axe (lv80 Axe, Light element attack), 480+ Attack

2x Minstrel

Apparently Axes of Evil does ~300 damage before you raise their attack and ~600 after. Bazaks spawn in groups of THREE in that spot.

Just another way the 2.1 update made leveling much easier than before.

Just reached this area earlier today to see what you were talking about. Got my Paladin from level 67 to 70 in under 2 hours, pretty damn efficient.

On a side note, one of the things I'm happiest about with the 2.1 update is the music. Particularly the new maps' battle music, I think it's from DQV if I'm not mistaken. It's just so refreshing to listen to after hearing the same old DQX battle music over tens of thousands of fights until now.

Been looking over the cooking section in the wiki and have to say... maaaan... cooking is pretty overpowered.

- Each food that you buy can be used 5 times and lasts for 30 minutes each use

- All food increases your EXP gain based on the number of stars it has, and if it requires high level cooking (everything with the greenish background on the wiki)

I also took a look through the bazaar via the hiroba website since I don't have a subscription right now. Found a bunch of 1 star, high levelled food for about 16-17k.

That's 20% extra EXP gain for 3.2k~3.4k gold. Not too shabby!

(Note: I REALLY should've resubbed right away. Driving myself crazy here! )

Indeed it does, those blog posts I linked to were using genki+food EXP.

Did some story stuff with Ashes today.  Things were going well until we reached a mini-boss that really doesn't feel like a mini-boss.

I don't mind losing to a well created boss that requires teamwork and strategy to defeat.  The Gaia Dragon is such an example.  It's a boss that you need to work together to beat.

This boss though that we faced today, frankly just feels cheap.  It pretty much did nothing but spam an instant death attack.  I think it might have only 2 attacks!  A physical attack that hit us for about half our HP, and an instant death move.  And it just spammed instant death.

That isn't a boss that's fun to fight.  I do have a plan that could probably overcome the boss, but we couldn't pull it off with AI since the AI isn't smart enough to cast the spells we want it to.

We actually did come close to winning.  I was able to blind the boss with my fan, and for a few minutes all his attacks were missing.  But once blind wore off, I could not get it on him again.  I tried and tried and tried, and it just would not work.  We tried a 2nd round, and I couldn't land blind at all that time.  Just pure luck that I managed to get it the one time I did during our first fight.

I'm disappointed with Square-Enix for going this route.  I'm sure we'll find a way to get past it once we get a team of real people, but this is still a very poorly designed and uncreative boss that relies on artificial difficulty rather than actually testing the player.

Assuming you mean that boss in the tower, I can help out with him if I'm online at the time. I've got 100% Instant Death guard equipment for both Battlemaster and Paladin, and with a Paladin along it seems like it turns into a fairly easy fight. In fact, I just beat him a second ago as Paladin with a party full of fairly weak NPCs.

And yeah, he really does only have 3 moves. Regular attack, Assassin Attack (instant death), and Tension charge. The latter isn't even a problem if you've got a couple of people with that Warrior skill that removes Tension and Anger. Pretty gimmicky boss if ever I've seen one.

Yeah we could use a hand.  I don't doubt that he's pretty easy if you're immune to instant death.  But I don't think we should have to buy a set of instant death gear just for 1 enemy.  Plus, that's hard to do for me since I can't actually read anything in this game and don't now what gear in the shop has instant death.  It's just not a well designed boss.

A few weeks ago Mimas and I attempted the Superboss along with her team.  I was disconnected in the middle of the fight.

Today, we tried again.  While I did have some VPN issues and disconnections, they happened before the battle began and I was able to rejoin.

We reached the final form of the boss and began the battle!  Our first attempt we lost, but fortunately someone had a life leaf and we were able to revive everyone to try again.

Our 2nd attempt, it got frantic and we had some close calls and the boss definitely took us right to the edge, but each time things got chaotic, we managed to regroup and get everyone back on their feet and get him under control again.  It was far from easy, but we worked together and managed to emerge victorious!

At last I can say that I was part of a team that defeated the Super Boss!  =D

Meanwhile I'm still stuck at the original version of that boss.

I'd be pretty much up to run it any time I'm online, but no one seems to want to do it. :P

You mean those bosses where you examine a door with black mist and are warped to a generic arena? Those are weeklys, and drop Yggdrasil Leaves. I wouldn't say they are cheap, just completely horribly placed since they're something you'd want to do with other players but thrown right in the way of story content.

Remember that the first one of those was a Huge Moumon that constantly spams charm dance and basically impossible unless you had 100% charm guard, a player using the 100 SP Sticks skill, or got lucky playing the roulette that is a boss that charms you then desperate attacks you if you're charmed.

Most successful day in a long time. Did a Strong Story Boss marathon with a friend, defeating all but the Dark King and the Lendashia bosses - plus got all the orbs. Went into the Magic Labyrinth once, fought the red Pegasus. He dropped his orb, too (Green, currently the highest by a wide margin).

Sold all the orbs, picked up some new half-decent anti-Hydra equipment. Bought a bunch of cooking ingredients and got to Cooking Lv10 while I was at it.

After that went to the Pyramid with a friend and his brother, and finally(!) got a Brooch after 3 months of nothing but Gold Stones, Gold Bars, and the occasional Golden crafting ingredient (this was what I got my first run in the Pyramid instead of a brooch). Even better, it was the one brooch I actually wanted; Set's Brooch (Attack and MP). Now I just need to collect enough fragments to make Set's Brooch +3 (oh boy, that'll be fun...). Either that or Osiris' Brooch for my Paladin, haven't decided yet.

Note to self: Bazaks grinding on Priest while tired due to the time change and annoyed from slipping on ice on the way home is not a very good idea.  :(

Well, I say that but I did get 1 1/2 levels done on my trek to level 69 on Priest (found out that I don't need 70 for 100 SP in Wands due to stamp collecting). Think I'll just do the rest without genkidamas since I'm fairly close (63) and I'd rather save them for when I reach the 2.1 content. Last one got me 78k, which is ironically some of the best EXP I've obtained there solo w/AI but those numbers from that blog I posted are no joke.

Due to a nico stream, I noticed that I was missing a page of equips so I looked up the quest found out you need to kill Scissor Rainbows for it (yeah, like I haven't killed a TON of those before) and quickly did the quest. Now I finally have the ability to hold 75 equips... I'm sure I will find a way to quickly run out of space again.

And congrats on the brooch Merry. I swear the chances of getting anything even slightly decent from the pyramid is just horrible. I got lucky with one run, but since then it's been nothing but Gold Stones and Brooch fragments. Haven't run it yet this week, but I'm sure it'll be the same thing... maybe... please something good?

If you enter ã«ã„ã¦ã‚“ã„ã¡ããã‚“ into the item codes you can receive 20 hearts and a redo orb. ^_^ This is in celebration of 2.1. This will work until March 31st I believe.
