Music stuck in your head?

Recommended Posts

P5>P3>P4 for music. P4's isn't bad by any means, but P3 edges it out due to having more Lotus Juice, and I prefer the hip hip influence that it has.

For me, it's currently these two:   Er...   Beware of Spoilers for Persona 4 and Final Fantasy 9!       http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NEBir7BGBeE           http://www.youtube.com/watch

Whoa, what?! I hadn’t heard about that! Man, that sucks! RIP Neil Peart. I’m going to have to listen to Moving Pictures tonight, as that’s my favorite Rush album. Rush was one of my dad’s favorite ban

This retardation.   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3-ghpi0AuPw

I actually don't like Lotus Juice. At all. Nothing against him in particular, but I simply don't like rap. However, I can appreciate it's emphasis on lyrics. If they don't have raw vocal talent, they instead rest the power of the song on the beat and lyrics. For some reason, a lot of Japanese rappers rap English lyrics, but because of that you end up with mostly nonsense and gibberish with no real meaning. Something there's a lot of in Lotus Juice's parts in Persona series songs.

Persona Q's soundtrack is my favorite, followed by P5.

Look, I'm posting here.

Both P4G and Q are excellent soundtracks!

I think the only other time I've seen you post here was when I first talked about Fantasy Life's soundtrack.

I appreciate that it's a platform to express thoughts and ideas you wouldn't find in other forms of music and gives a voice to those who can't sing particularly well, but a lot of mainstream rap is about topics I'm not interested in. And in the case of Lotus Juice, it's just a guy singing a lot of English words strung together with limited meaning. So rap doesn't do much for me.

A lot of mainstream rap just plain sucks. It's all the same $#!& these days, and it's nothing like how rap got started. Same goes for music videos too. It's all near naked girls with big butts, and I just can't see why that's the best we got.

I try to make sure I say the word "mainstream" when talking about modern music I don't like, because a lot of people fall into the trap of saying, "modern music sucks," like my dad and grandparents. They see Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, etc. and lump that into a big net containing all modern day music, which is just plain incorrect. That's Top 40 stuff. You can find plenty of great music by looking outward.

Popular =/= good. Just because someone won Grammy doesn't mean they truly are the best artists in their genre of the year. They just had really good management and made it big and were recognized enough to be nominated for an industry back-patting.

We talking about rap? Well I do listen to a lot of Emenim stuff, but I'm sure everyone has Lose Yourself on their playlist, right?

Also modern music doesn't suck, if you want to find good music you'll find it. I'm sure everyone at one point was a hipster in 9th grade, who only listened to Queen and talked about how today's music sucks, at least I was for like a month. Actually FilthyFrank had a video on this exact thing.

What the hell is Lose Yourself?

What the hell is Lose Yourself?

His palms are sweaty

Knees weak

Arms are heavy

There's vomit on his sweater already

Mom's spaghetti

He's nervous

But on the surface he looks calm and ready

To drop bombs

But he keeps on forgetting

What he wrote down

The whole crowd groes so loud

He opens his mouth but the words won't come out

He's choking how

Everybody's jokin' now

The clocks run out times up over BLOAW!

The clocks run out times up over BLOAW!

Snap back to reality

Oh

There goes gravity

Oh

There goes rabbit he choked

He's so mad but he won't

Give up that easy no

He won't have it he knows

His whole backs to these ropes

It don't matter he's dope

He knows that but he's broke

He's sad that he knows

When he goes back to his mobile home that's when it's

Back to the lab agin yo

This whole rhapsody

Better go capture this moment

And hope it don't pass him

Yo

Souls escaping

Through this hole that is gaping

This world is mine for the taking

Make me king as we move toward a

New world order

A normal life is boredom but superstardom's

Close to post mortem

It only gets harder

Homie grows hotter

He blows it's all over

These hoes is all on him

Coast to coast shows he's known as the globetrotter

Lonely roads God only knows

He's grown farther from home

He's no father

He goes home he barely knows his own daughter

But hold your nose cause here

Goes the cold water

These hoes don't want him no more

He's cold product

They moved on to the next shmo

Who flows he nose dove

And sold nada

And so the soap opera is told

It unfolds

I suppose it's old partner

But the beat goes on

Da da dim da dum da da

With Fire Emblem on my brain again (I'm gonna finish Awakening this time, I swear it!) I've had these two songs on the brain today at work. Funny enough they aren't even from Awakening.

This one too. Forgot the name of it so I couldn't find it right away.

This track right here:

After hearing it in the Stella Glow demo, it single-handedly kept the game in my mind. When I listen to it, it fills me with determination and a desire to keep on fighting.

These days, since Fire Emblem Awakening came out, I get this song in mind when I think about Fire Emblem:

I'll also accept "Lost in thoughts all alone" as good, though it chokes me up most times I hear it, 'cause a friend of mine passed away shortly after I got the game.

It's a wonderful song, and I remember my late friend by it, fondly.

He wasn't on this forum but other online outlets knew him as simply "Solitaire".  It only further enhances my feelings about the Fates main theme.

Didn't mean for this post to turn into a downer, so I'll end positively.  Destiny Ablaze is my favorite piece of all in Awakening.  Especially the crescendo at 0:14 to 0:25!
