Dragon Quest content in Super Smash Bros. 4? Slime for Super Smash Bro

Recommended Posts

Actually some of the most plausible characters would be:

Yangus (Dragon Quest 8)
Papas (Dragon Quest 5)

Golem (any dragon quest)

Slime Knight (any from DQ 4 and up)

As a support 'super move', Necrosaro (DQ 4)

None of them would be in it. They would choose the series mascot, a.k.a. Slime. That makes the most sense.

I don't see the slime being a good fighter though.

He could be, I just don't see them pulling it off.

I see the slime being able to use the Elasto Blast and various spells available to it in DQV.

As a final smash, he can use the Flute to summon the Schleiman tank  ;)

I just reluctantly put in for Rocket. Reluctantly, because I'd rather see young Yangus. But I'm sure a slime is more likely to make it in.

I find a Slime highly unlikely. It's popular, of course, but there's only so much you can do in regards to its move set.

My money is on either Wonder Red or Bayonetta.

Sakurai could definitely work with a slime stack.

Not that there's any chance of any SE, let alone DQ representation.

Slime could work, but I doubt any 3rd party characters would be added at this point.

As long as it's not another sword character I'm fine. Smash is an amazing series cause it has such unique characters, if I was 13 I would prob want a hero, but now I think Slime would be cool. Also when people say what kind of there's no move set for slime, well, I never ever thought Pacman could could have a move set in Smash either but he has.

Although I see that this topic is long dead, I have created a fan-made moveset for the slime's appearance in Smash Bros. It was quite fun. The image can be clicked on to enlarge, but the text is a bit difficult to read so I will rewrite it all here. Enjoy!

EDIT: I colored every single move and compiled it into a clear image!

Google Drive Link

The Slime is Dragon Quest's most iconic and recognizable character. There is more merchandise for the slime than for any other Square Enix character. There is simply no better representative for the Dragon Quest series!

-Jab 1-

Slime tackles in front of itself.

-Jab 2-

Another tackle sends the slime further.

-Jab 3-

The slime does a front flip, slamming the ground.

-Side Tilt-

The slime casts Frizzle. Plays the classic sound. Long startup and range.

-Up Tilt-

The slime sharpens its head and extends it up.

-Down Tilt-

Two other slimes pop out of the ground beside the player slime.

-Side Smash-

Summons the Ultra Slime who unleashes a barrage of punches in front of him.

-Up Smash-

Summons the Ultra Slime above and in front of the slime, who then attacks in a flurry of punches.

-Down Smash-

Summons the Ultra Slime and Neme Slime to either side of the player slime, who each deliver a powerful blow.

-Neutral Air-

The slime flattens its body, extending its hitbox.

-Forward Air-

Takes out Roto's Sword above him and sweeps it forward and up.

-Back Air-

Stretches its body so that it extends behind it.

-Up Air-

Shapens its pointy head and extends up.

-Down Air-

Throws down a heal slime. Drills into opponents. The tentacles heal rather than hurt!

Standard Special

-Elasto-Blast-

The slime couches into its signature squat from Slime Mori Mori Dragon Quest! Move the control stick to stretch in that direction, then release to shoot off in that direction. When no direction is pressed, the slime will jump instead. When used in the air the slime will expand and float like a balloon. Can dig through platforms by pressing down while squatting.

Down Special

-Treasure Box-

The slime tosses a treasure box a fixed distance in front of him. The box remains on stage. Can be picked up like a crate. Can be opened by dealing a certain amount of damage. May either contain an herb or turn out to be a Mimic or any number of things. It would be cool to play the "You Are Cursed" jingle here sometimes.

Up Special

-Zoom Box-

The Slime is engulfed into a treasure box. If there is already a treasure box on the field, then the slime will pop out of that box, leaving a new box in the position from which the slime warped from. Otherwise leaves a box at its current position. A powerful K.O. move.

Inspired from Orcane's recovery.

Bonus!

Side Special

-Mitotic Spawn-

Splits into two and throws a copy forward. Hold the button to become the tossed slime.

Not Picture: Final Smash! -Dragon Quest Heroes-

Sends a liquid metal slime racing in front of the player slime. Any opponents caught will be dragged in, and then the protagonists of the Dragon Quest games will appear, each to deliver their own special blows.

Okay. Cool. I hope some of you liked this. I never really thought about how slime could be a feasible character until last night. Comments, feedback, etc.

Nice moveset, beets! I actually drew up a moveset of my own a few weeks ago--it seems that we share some ideas!

Those are pretty cool :)

I feel like the Slime would be a nightmare to try to hit, though.

They could just bump his size up to Olimar or Kirby's height.
