I Was just on nintendo3ds blog.com, and I saw this...   http://nintendo3dsblog.com/dragon-quest-monsters-terrys-wonderland-3d-is-coming-to-the-3ds

Yes, I made a topic about it in the General board earlier.   Some details worth mentioning:   - Contains all monsters featured in Dragon Quest Monsters & Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 2 Profess

So it's been about a month since the bombshell hit. Any new info? Screenshots, for example?

Etepong is still no good. Now, as for an international release, is there any word on that?

Not really, he's nothing great, but his attack and defense are passable, and even with the new system, that's some nice HP for a size 1. Also as to your previous post, never underestimate Wooshmeister.

Woosh isn't that great in my opinion. I'm more of a Bang guy. And I'm just saying that Etepong is outshadowed by many others(except Trode of course).

I agree. You show me a monster worse than Trode, and I will show you hateful lies.

Well, I'm pretty sure that Trode is better than SpotSlime. And he may be as strong as Picky.

It's only by the stats, though. Its overall note is far worse, only because of the difficulty to obtain him...

^Still nothing unfortunately.

Well, that's a shame.

But mottle slime and Trode are still better than small fry, though, despite the latter having Giant Killer as one of its traits.

In B3 of the Great Tree, how does the gate with 100 battles work?

I dunno, since I don't have the game, and never will unless it gets released here in the U.S.

If they're doing a DQVII Promo in Japan, I'm guesstimating that TW3D will release around 43 days after VII's likely localisation. I'm pretty sure they wouldn't release an in-game Promo in Japan and only Japan.

Well they did for Dragon Quest X.

In B3 of the Great Tree, how does the gate with 100 battles work?

If it works the same way as in Pro, then it will be like that :

  1. You must fight consecutives random battles untill you lose. You're not healed between battle.

  2. You will obtain money accoding to your victory.(it seems to be number of fight x 1000 G)

  3. If you fight 100 or more consecutives battle, you obtain your prizes

  4. You can only fight once by day (real time)

I'm not sure about 4. but the rest seems to be the same. This is incredibly hard. In Pro you could found monsters with 1000+ stats.

I found a Brownie/Hammerhood (not sure wich) with 180 ATK and a Riptide with 1000/1100 n every stats.

So... God Luck !

EDIT : Obviously HP Recovery/MP recovery is a must be. Yu should have at least one healer with MP Recovery (and Helth Professional for yor healer) (And a good enough DEF and/or Avoid)

But mottle slime and Trode are still better than small fry, though, despite the latter having Giant Killer as one of its traits.

Oh yeah. I forgot Small Fry... The point is the same, though.

Since you need a lot of rare and strong monsters to create Trode, he's still be worse than them. Small fry is far easier to obtain, so it's less of a probem.

Wow. That'll make trips to the gate where you can scout any monster you've had easier to fund, I suppose.

EDIT: Quote fail.

100 battles in a row, each getting tougher as you progress. With 4 monster slots, if you had 4 Murdaw, each that could attack 3 times per turn, that's 12 attacks. If they all had HP recovery, that would also help. Assuming that you have you as a healer, that would mean that it should also have MP recovery. The other 3 Murdaw can be attackers, each with different styles, like Mage and physical, would give the great coverage. Finally, breath attacks are rather effective, but a support could also be used I reck'n.

Wow, 2 weeks with no posts. So I'll come with a nice surprise:

Dragon Quest Monsters: Terry's Wonderland 3D is being localized.

http://m.chanarchive.org/4chan/v/61577

Link is not really safe for work. I'll quote the relevant stuff here. In addition, here is a text only pastebin version: http://pastebin.com/SXE3XD85

Anonymous 10/13/12(Sat)17:09 No.158437776

Nintendo of America marketing employee here. Just stopping by to tell you guys things. Because well. I've always wanted to do one of these things but we've been so boring in the past.

>Dragon Quest Monsters: Terry's Wonderland 3D is being localized

>Gamecube games on virtual console come with fun things for the tablet controller like trivia and guides

>New MMO in development for Wii U F2P and not P2W

The MMORPG sounds like it's a take on Monster Hunter only persistent open world with classes -- in fact, the way he coyly describes it, I think it's a literal Monster Hunter MMORPG.

Rumor of a Wavebird being released for the Wii to support Gamecube games.

No details on DQM:TW3D except that Iwata apparently personally pushed for it's localization.

Looking back on this post now, I was excited that TW3D was finally getting localized.

Maybe they leaked the info so they could announce that it's being localized? If so, then localization could've already begun at the time of that writing.

Maybe... it's still being localized.

(Please allow 4-8 months for release.) (Get it? It's a wordplay on "please allow 4-6 weeks for delivery.")

  • 2 weeks later...

Have you done the stats for Zenith Dragon, Yggdrasil, or Gadis yet?

I don't know, but I will try to post them later when I have more time.

More questions about the battle gate:

Does anyone know if you get to use substitutes?

Do they use the AI that your monsters have or that normal, in-game monsters have? (e.g. your monsters don't try to cast spells on a Zoma, other monsters will)

Sorry it's a bit late.

1: Yes, you do get substitutes.

2: It's been a while, so I'm afraid I'm not sure. But if my memory serves, they seem a bit smarter than the average monster later on!

Hey, I have a question.

If it gets here, will it have some sort of pre-order bonus?

If it does, my guess would be a T-Shirt or something cheap.

It would be cool if it was like Terry's hat or something for a preorder bonus. Did japan have one?

That would be cool. And I think they had the Slime 3DS package instead of just a bonus. But I could be wrong.
