I fall under the 'older than Dragon Quest' category. "Get off my pixel lawn!"

Older than Dragon Quest? Hell, I'm older than Donkey Kong!

I'm older than "Breakout", the original Zork, the Atari 2600, Intellivision, Pitfall, Frogger, Space Invaders, and PacMan. Pong and the original Oregon Trail still have me beat.

Nope.

I was eight when it was released in the States. Though I never owned it--I just borrowed it (indefinitely ) from a friend.

Two years older, but didn't discover the series until I was about 16 or so. You can imagne, in Spain the first DQ that came out was VIII, although by then I had already played some of the previous instalments on emulators.

I was born the year DWIV was made.

If Dragon Quest is 25, that makes it older than me. Something about this feels quite awesome... maybe the fact that the series has had so much time to develop.

Late reply, but yes, DQ is older than me...

Well, at least 11 years and 8 months older than me.

Though, I have a year and a few months over DQV. All is safe !

I was born in 1979. 10 years later, I begged my parents for the DW localization. It was an epic Christmas gift for sure (probably 3rd place- #1 my NES in 1987. #2, River City Ransom in 1990 [which I had rented multiple times]. #3- Dragon Warrior).

God, I miss the 80s. Blew the 90s clean out of the water.

We got a good combination of old school and new school fans. Couldn't ask for anything more.

Now it's uneven  . 1 year and 1 day older than DQ. If only it came out 1 day earlier.

Actually, the Famicom is about 5 months younger than I am...not the NES, the Japanese Famicom. I remember my older sisters playing Atari when I was a baby....now how many of you guys remember the Atari 2600?

I learned of Dragon Warrior/Dragon Quest in 91' when I borrowed DWII from my then future bro-in-law. I'm mostly stuck on the NES releases myself due to nostalgia.

When my brother was 2 in 1984 (before I was born), my dad bought him an Atari when he was sick. Little did I know years later it was in fact the Atari 7800 which perplexed me when I found out that system was released in 1986. Wikipedia says it was originally released in 1984 and I vageuly remember reading it was test marketed in NY that year. Even though it was the 7800, I believe most of my games were 2600 games.

Dragon Quest is yes. It was released May 1986 and I was born in March of 1987.

Dragon Warrior however is not. It was released in late? 1989.

I'm just barely older than the original Dragon Quest, I'm a few years older than the American Dragon Warrior.
