Cool mini-game! Sorry to hear about you having to go to Afghanistan. I hope you come home safe! (Actually I hope the war ends before you have to go, but that's a bit of a stretch.) PM me if there's anything I can help with while you're gone. I could make tilesets, character sheets, maps, music, sound effects, monsters, you name it, for II and III. Hopefully it will take a load off your mind, and could get the games up and running faster when you get back.

Here is What I have been working on for a while! I also finished the casino (layout not games) The rocky cave, and some new quests. After doing all this for this remake playing the original on the gameboy color just seems super boring... oops haha. Anyway if I just speed through and do the main gaming aspects THEN the special stuff I would probably get a lot more work done. But I get bored so working on stuff like the t'n't boards and the casino give me motivation.

 

As for Domdora, it is incomplete, but I wanted to make it more like the complete Domdora of DQIII. There will also be some treasures here of varying types.

No, haven't worked on it in a while due to tile set making for Esturk's game. Tile sets are a long process haha

Updated T'n'T video, including new tiles.

 

New battle scenes with backgrounds based on areas. With this new script I had to backtrack a lot of mapping for the world but everything else worked out in my favor!

This looks so awesome! You are doing an amazing job on this remake. So much attention to the finer details that makes this look like really polished.

It's the details that slow down the process so much, for instance I spent hours trying to figure out ways to have the dead coffin sprites rearrange themselves behind the next living character.

 

@Edrick, I will post something this Sunday, I have a four day weekend so yeah should be semi-caught up!

Cool!

You should take a look at RMVX Ace when you are ready for the next game. It Might make your life a lot easier. Or, you could just mod this one's maps and characters. I don't know how old scripts will work in RGSS3.

New minigame where you wear the dancer's outfit and send back 25% of your battle earnings to the head dancer. Basically you work for a pimp called "Big Mama," haha. As you can see the dancer costume changes sprite and battle music. I really need to start working on the main story line but the little stuff is fun :\

What a neat interesting unique (?) idea for a mini-game. haha Well, maybe it's not unique, I've just never seen it in a DQ or Zelda game, the only ones I'm really familiar with. haha Anyway, the game still looks great. Keep up the good work. (Oh, and if you need any proofreading help, I'm available.)

got the idea from pokemon gold and silver where you sent money back to your mom and she would buy you things she thought you needed.

 

And yes i still need grammar checks, but since updating some scripts I found I have to remap entire areas... le sigh.

Hi guys and gals. I have put this project on hold to help a few other people. I have done this because we are getting ready to for pre-deployment training (though we are constantly told we may or may not be deploying). So rather than work on something and rush, or be interrupted I have set myself up a check point and will pick up when I know more information and have more time.

 

On the plus side this means I get to spread a bunch of knowledge I gained thanks to this experiment known as Roto's Rebirth.

I've read this topic from the beginning and I'm incredibly impressed with your RPG Maker VX skill. I hope that you'll get to finish it someday. I've only finished one RPG Maker project on the Playstation. It took 5 memory cards for a 30 hour game. Too bad Square Enix couldn't hire you for a 3D remake of the first three Dragon Quest games. Thanks for the inspiration to finish my RPG Maker XP project.

Turns out that I may not be one of the medics who are chosen to go, thus I started back up on this game. Some things are being changed, I think for the better. Depending on whats available for resources I may port my WIP II, III, and original game to VX Ace. I know I said that Ace wasn't worth the money but upon revisitation Ace has a lot of fun things that VX doesn't have, and though VX has scripts, Ace has the features built right in.

Switching to the DS sprites due to me liking them a little bit more, plus they are easier to reallign on the grid.

I like how you can just separate body/clothing parts from the rest of a sprite, move the whole animation chunk for all directions, and merge it seamlessly with the rest of another sprite.
