Hi there! Back in 2016 I posted an art thread with Dragon Quest themed Inktober drawings. In my excitement for the upcoming SSBU DLC I decided to draw some DQ-Kirbies today, and figured I might as well create a new art thread for my future drawings (as I REALLY need to start picking up the habit of drawing frequently again). This thread will probably mostly be DQ drawings, perhaps some other RPG/video game art as well!

So I'm kicking off an art series called "Drawing QWest X: The Quest for X in the West" (Big shout out to the anon on liquidmetalslime Tumblr page for the grade A pun!) where I draw either in-game screenshots of DQX or general DQX fanart. I'm doing this for the promotion of the DQX localization campaign! I want to at the very least, post one drawing per week. That way the campaign can stay alive and well. Plus this is GREAT practice for me as an artist! I need to draw more often after all! I'll kick off this thread with a cute Weddie.

Hi everyone! For the past couple of days I've been working on a Dragon Quest themed Inktober. Inktober basically means posting a new inked drawing every day for the entire month of October - a challenge meant to develop both your drawing-skills and practicing working under tight deadlines. When I started playing Dragon Warrior II a few years back I tried to draw all the monsters as I fought them. As you can see, I didn't get very far. I drew a few more of them, up to the Orc, I think, but only scanned and colored a few. I took the pallet directly from the sprites. I love the old 8 bit sprites because they are just detailed enough to give you an idea of what the enemy looks like, but not so detailed that you can't use your own imagination, which was a lot of fun when I was analyzing those pixels.
