Yesterday, I bought a Retron 2 and started playing DW 3 and my party consists of Hero Aiko (Female), Fighter Kyoko (Female), Fighter KImiko (Female), Wizard Laton (Male). This game brings back old memories of my first play through which it took me 15 days to complete at $3 when I rented the game back then in 1991 and now I own a copy.
I created a video showing the Merchant Creation Bug after you turned your Wizard that you started at the beginning of the game and promoted him/her to Merchant and dropped him/her off at the field east of Soo. Go back to Aliahan and create a new Merchant and him/her will have 2 to 4 of the previous wizard's spells! Dragon Warrior 3 Merchant Creation Bug
NESCardinality performed a 1:42:23 speedrun of Dragon Warrior III (glitchless), setting a new world record speedrun for the game's glitchless category. Uses a design flaw in the game that causes the RNG to freeze, so instead of random numbers, it returns incrementing numbers. Saving the game unfreezes the RNG seed, and resets it to the save game's checksum. Changing Message Speed on another file in a specific way will re-freeze the RNG seed. Movement needs to follow the path exactly, sometimes with no pauses, delays, or bumps. In order to prevent an incoming battle, he uses Healing, herbs, or a wizard's ring to advance the RNG past the point of a battle. Specific character stats and inventory setups are also used to get saved game checksums that force metal slime/babble fights after saving the game. RNG freezing bug and general operation discovered by Vaxherd, route planned by airkix, and this run was performed by NESCardinality. https://www.twitch.tv/videos/179611366
Hey guys, Finally getting down to finishing this game once and for all. I got it on launch when I was kid but got distracted by life and growing up and stuff. Now I finally got to Dharma but I'm facing a bit more of a conundrum that I anticipated. Who should be my second sage? I'm actually considering my Soldier for the single reason I'd have one male sage and one female sage. I know its recommended for cleric/pilgrim or a mage/wizard but for purely cosmetic reason I'd like to have two different sprites. My Cleric is female so it be the same sprite twice. Call me crazy but I like individual sprite. Also Sorry if this has been ask but I've never seen anywhere some one say soldier into sage. It always seems to be fighter/mage/cleric. I'm also considering changing my Cleric into a soldier. Let me know if I'm crazy! My current team is HeroM 19, SoldierM 19, ClericF 19, SageF 4 ( formerly a jester...that FINALLY paid off)
