So I've been going through DWVII again, though I really don't have as much time to spend these days. Luckily, it's on a PSP so it's both portable and it's got a sleep mode...but even then, it can get rather grindy. The default exp gain is fine with me, but I wanted to earn more money from my battles. I looked online and found some modifier codes that can multiply your gold/exp/job points after battles, and they offered multipliers between 4, 8, 16, etc all the way up to 128. Thing is, I didn't want to break the game, and even a 4X modifier can be pretty huge. So I decided to test some codes, and discovered you can actually even switch the modifier even lower to 2X setting, so what you earned in battle is two times as much. Significantly less than the previous lowest setting, which was times four. It should be useful to those who want to speed things up, but don't want to break the difficulty of the game. Anyways, except for the '2 times' modifier, this code is pretty much copypasted from here: http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/197152-dragon-warrior-vii/66309516 Exp multiplier 8004B618 XXXX 8004B61A 0010 Gold multiplier 8004C634 XXXX 8004C636 0004 Work/Job Exp multiplier 8004B800 XXXX 8004B802 0010 XXXX= 2840 2 times 2880 4 times 28C0 8 times 2900 16 times 2940 32 times 2980 64 times 29C0 128 times Yeah, almost 16 years late, but here's a 2X modifier!
Welcome to the third campaign in a series of contests called "Dragon Quest for the West". The purpose of these contests is to create a social media firestorm with the intention of increasing awareness of the Dragon Quest series and getting the attention of the series' creators and other parties who have the power (but not yet the incentive) to bring these games to the west. Your mission in this contest is to create an advertisement for Dragon Quest VII, focused on Kiefer! Each entrant has to come up with at least one piece of art done in the concept of an advertisement for DQ7 using Kiefer. The sky is the limit, anything you can think of. Are you a lousy artist who thinks this contest is not for you? Well don't run away just yet! There are plenty of options for you to not only participate in this contest, but also to win! Instead of a drawing or a beautifully Photoshopped design, you could try doing some cosplay and taking photos. Or you could even make a video advertisement of sorts. You could even just partner up with someone and help them out in some way. Both of you will earn badges! The winning advertisement will receive a twitter blast and all kinds of glory. Details can be found in the official contest topic. In case you missed the Arus campaign results, you can see the submissions from that campaign here.
Hey there all! It's the contest originator here at the Den, plattym3 back in action! I was gone for a long time & have spent the past couple years doing all I can to get a punny laugh around here, but it's time to get serious again. King Zenith & Democobot have stripped away the "emeritas" word from my title, and I'm again a Contest Mod. Let's get right to work! So, Squeenix (Square Enix) applied for a trademark in Europe & North America (see topic) that has riled up the Den populance into thinking that a new DQ game is coming out soon. Theories have been batted around hundreds of times (see other topic). The trademark is for the name "Holey Heroes". The point of this contest is simple: predict what Holey Heroes is. The topic will run from when I post this until 11pm EST (8pm PST) on Friday, February 27th. You've got a little over a week to vote. Now, I'm going to put a poll up here with games/ideas I've seen batted around. When the topic closes, we'll all still be able to see who guessed correctly, but obviously no votes will be able to be changed. This contest ends when we get an answer as to what "Holey Heroes" is (if we ever do), and everyone who guesses correctly will get a brand, spanking new badge from Woodus! If you have an idea that you don't see in the poll, feel free to comment and that will be your vote! We've seen the 400+ posts, now let's 100% scientifically see what you think...
http://venturebeat.com/2014/10/18/how-13-years-changed-the-language-and-culture-of-dragon-quest-games/ Neat article. A little tidbit about DQIII was dropped in there. That's something new. And about DQVII :-( Basically nothing new.
