  1. Not going to disagree with that. Grandia is my all-time favorite battle system and they perfected it with III.
  2. Greetings, fellow southerner. So there's at least two of us.
  3. As someone who adored Grandia 1 and 2, I have to tell you, I did not much care for XTreme and 3. They just did not grab me at all. Doesn't help they were on the muddy, jaggy PS2 after the beautiful clean anti-aliased graphics on the Dreamcast.
  4. Legend of Mana is an amazing game. I can't tell you how excited I am for the remaster. It's definitely worth playing. I kinda want to discourage you looking into it any more. There's so much magic to be had from a blind playthrough.
  5. I picked Streets of Rage 4 back up over the weekend. Almost finished beating it as Cherry. So much better than I ever hoped the game would be. Easily my game of 2020.
  6. Yeah, the latter half of KoD starts to pick up, when there's more focus on Mat's story.
  7. Getting ready to go camping for my birthday in a few weeks. Things are getting crazy at work; I'm really going to need a couple of days unplugged. Gonna bring a good book, some good beer, eat some campfire food. Really looking forward to it.
  8. Currently finishing up DQXI, and just starting on DQVI DS, about 3 hours in. I had no idea Grandia Parallel Trippers ever got a translation patch. I'm going to have to check that out. Think it's worth replaying Grandia first? It's been a solid 15 years since I touched the game.
  9. I think it was also Vyse of Arcadia. I think I've been using this handle since, jeez, over 20 years ago. I would have joined the Enix forums shortly after the release of Dragon Warrior VII in 2001. Glad you bring up Slime Time, I just started listening after I thought to myself, "I wonder if there's a DQ podcast." I've been aware of the Dragon's Den for years, but I've always treated it as a source for ringtones and notification sounds Chewing is for suckers.
  10. Feels good to be posting on an old-school forum again. It's been an age since I was active on one. I used to spend a lot of time in ye olde Enix forums. Currently 150ish hours into my first playthrough of DQXIs with super strong enemies. Also playing DQVI for the first time when my wife isn't available to watch XI. She'd kill me if she missed any story stuff
  11. Hope this isn't considered necromancy, but I'm pleased as punch to discuss WoT any ol' time. I liked Winter's Heart, actually, but Crossroads of Twilight and Knife of Dreams are my least favorite books in the entire series, and that includes New Spring. Frickin' Faile.
