  1. Not afraid to share my vote on the thread, only regertful I wasn't part of the forum earlier to cast any votes in prior rounds. Gotta hand it to the Master Archfiend. He influenced my ideas of what an RPG villain could and should be for years. Truly had a profound impact on my young mind, and a memorable battle with him at the end of a fantastic game.
  2. I'm really feeling it!

I cannot explain it, it's like being awashed in the purest spring water.

I say this so you'll enjoy the ghist of the main storyline and get used to the game. Then really let lose in seeing the full extent of what XBC has to offer (well, it makes more sense if you already know you like it). I wish I had done it this way.

OK. :D I'll try that when I play through the game. Been on my wishlist for a while now, so I am pretty pumped to finally try it.

  5. This looks amazing! I'll follow the thread and the work, and hope to see it in playable form soon!
  6. I've returned to the game's post-boss content after many years of hiatus. I'm very happy with this particular DQ game, always have been. I just got discouraged by the amount of grinding it was taking to stand a chance against my favorite legacy boss, Zoma.
  7. Welcome back! I'm the new guy 'round here! Arf! I have Persona Q as well, and Codename STEAM, and tomorrow I'm collecting Xenoblade Chronicles 3D. I've also been dabbling in the postgame of DQ9 after many years of hiatus. Got discouraged by the extreme amount of grinding it was going to take to beat Zoma.
  8. As of tomorrow morning I shall be experiencing Xenoblade Chronicles 3D on my N3DS. I actually took the next two days off work (requested and granted legitimately) to give myself a good, distraction free start to the epic. I had the original Wii release, but I never actually progressed far, 'cause I hardly play on the TV since I got 3DS. Hopefully the portable port will remedy that grevious oversight. Plus, the port allowed me to mail my Wii copy out for an extended loan to a very good friend of mine across the country, so he may experience it too, without shelling out the exorbitant eBay p
  9. None that I am aware of. There's Hawkeye's Dragon Warrior Classic fan games, but you specified official. I think DQ10 is the first official DQ on PC. Anyone, please correct me if I'm wrong.
  10. I'll give you the "earliest animal" bit, only because the Princess-dog was really a grey area. D'oh! How'd I forget her? Yes, I suppose that makes two questing canines in teh same game, technically. DQ2 sure loved dogs, huh?
  11. Thank you, King Zenith. I had the idea to tribute the little guy when I took the time to remember just how far my DW / DQ experience goes. Many good options exist throughout the games' storied history, as far as NPCs, but so few of them have names in the first game. I was sure there was an Orwick anyway. I settled on an animal theme because the gag potential is so high ( just look at the fun I've had in my welcome thread ), and this is a fun place. So.. earliest animal in the game series of any import? This little fella. There's my origin story. Your screen name is pretty sweet, too! DQ
  12. What a turnout! Guess the game had more fans than I thought! Here, I thought my attachment to DQS was silly, borne out of my overactive imagination and slight sense of melodrama and physical flair. Glad to know i'm not alone in appreciating a little silliness here and there. Yes, I wish the game had at least had a sequel that was WiimotionPlus compatible, plus Nunchuk compatible, for better motion. Maybe remapping shielding to Z button in that case? Alas, it seems to be a thing of the far past. Still, I fondly remember it, and have a second from-scratch playthrough in the opening s
  13. I'm just happy someone around here is even willing to entertain the notion. I've always wanted to hear War Cry in 8-bit. Thanks for the heads up, Erdrick! Don't sweat it. If it sounds fun, do it. No rush( except in my MP3 player ).
  14. I've searched the forums almost since day one, and only found one thread regarding the flawed, but sweet spinoff. Am I alone in actually liking that game? Despite the spotty slash detection and crude movement in the map, the game basically allowed me to do exactly what I used to do in these games when I was 10 -- stand up and act out the sword slashes and spell castings -- only this time, it actually means something in the game! Also, the game featured iconic weapons from throughout Dragon Quest History. Last I played, I had the Zenithian Sword from my all time favorite game in the se
  15. Hi there! I have just met you, and I have a key for you. It is very very imporrtant that you.. SQUIRREL! ... Hi there!
  16. Cats?! Where?! Oh my Goddess, WHERE?! * chases after them excitedly *
  17. Recently joined this place, so Dragon's Den Forum is what's new with me! Eagerly awaiting Xenoblade Chronicles 3D for N3DS at the end of the week, but until then? Kinda dull lately, actually.
  18. Wow, this is an old topic, to have no replies. I'm playing this game recently, and it's awesome! This game seriously needs more rep. It truly is good.
  19. " 'ere, now! Yew lookin' at me bum? Cheeky monkey!"
  20. You kidding? Spice is vital! He who controls the Spice, controls the Universe!
  21. I love this stuff! Awesome work all around! May I make a special request of the community? I would love to hear War Cry ( standard Battle theme of Dragon Quest 8 ) in 8-bit NES sound via Famitracker.
  22. Hands down: Deborah Briscoletti from DQ5 DS. I still married her in my playthrough, just to see what egotistic garbage she'd sling, and to get a slightly better spellcaster daughter but aside from humorously annoying dialogue and minmaxing offspring, did she really have any redeeming factors? Not that I could see.
  23. Mattcraft: Woof Woodus: The honor is mine. Excellent job on this amazing place. Democrobot: This does not scare me.
