Video games of all sorts, let's plays, monsters of all descriptions, and of course, Dragon Quest.
  1. This isn't possible to do with a Japanese cartridge of the game, an American 3DS, and a download of the Patch, is it?
  2. https://www.change.org/p/square-enix-localize-dragon-quest-3ds-spinoffs?recruiter=129589880&utm_source=share_petition&utm_medium=facebook&utm_campaign=autopublish&utm_term=des-lg-share_for_starters-no_msg&fb_ref=Default Found this petition a while back. I already signed it, but basically it's to help get some of the Dragon Quest Spinoffs localized. Courtesy of Project Hero, another group that wants to get Dragon Quest to western shores.
  3. Sorry about my long absence. I was going busy with life stuff. Anyway, I wanted to get an opinion from you guys: I own an Xbox One, but not a PS4. And I want Dragon Quest Heroes. The trouble is, I don't want to get a PS4 just for one game. I just wanted to ask: Do you think it would be good if Dragon Quest Heroes: The World Tree's Woe and the Blight Below came out on Xbox One? I think it would be the first Dragon Quest game on a Microsoft console ever.
  4. I'll be honest: I'm rather uncomfortable using forums. Strangely, however, I love using Facebook, which I started using about half a year or so ago at the suggestion of my therapist (I'm autistic, by the way, that's why I have a therapist). That being said, I'm not just a fan of Dragon Quest. I'm also a crazed fan of Skylanders. Yes, I'm 20 years old and I love Skylanders. I've probably collected over a hundred of those things. So what does this have to do with what I said earlier? Well, on Facebook, you can join groups dedicated to certain things. I joined a group called "All About Skylanders." Guess what that's about. Anyway, I'm going to propose that, in order to expand the Quest for the West, even if it's only ever so slightly, we should start our own Facebook group! I know Dragon's Den itself has a Facebook PAGE, but that's different than a Facebook GROUP. In a group, we can make it closed, so that you can only see what we post when you join. And to join, you have to be approved. What do you guys think?
  5. Well, I've said it already, and I know it's been seen, but I feel guilty for putting it in the wrong place. But to me, Dragon Quest means perfection. Every Dragon Quest game I've ever played is superb, regardless of whether or not I've finished it. The monsters are well designed with comically pathetic enemies like the world famous slimes mixed in with menacing horrors like the final bosses. The characters are easy to become attached to, especially Abel, the main protagonist from Dragon Quest V (Well I heard he's supposed to be called Abel). And it features gameplay across all sorts of different genres: Standard JRPGs, Monster Collecting, Platforming, Real Time Strategy, and Hack n' Slash (in both 3rd and 1st person). There's an omnipresent, undeniable, and always appreciated charm about the games. And above all else, it remains consistent in design from game to game (well, as far as character design goes). In short, Dragon Quest, means RPG greatness to me, and I hope that Square Enix will realize that fans in the west are sorely missing these games.
  6. Alright. So what does Dragon Quest mean to me? It means perfections. The monster designs are perfect in every way, shape, and form. The characters are enjoyable, even if some of them are silent (like DQ5's Abel's love for his family and DQ8's unofficially named protagonist's love for Medea). The gameplay is top notch and easy to grasp. The style remains consistent, recognizable, and therefore iconic. A few of my all time favorite games are Dragon Quest games: Dragon Quest Heroes Rocket Slime and Dragon Quest Monsters Joker. To me, Dragon Quest is a spark of hope in a world of chaotic garbage like Call of Duty and Madden NFL. Hope that some day, games like Dragon Quest X, DQ7 3D, and even Terry's Wonderland 3D (that's one I'm really dying for) to come to our Goddess (or Almighty, if you're into DQ9) forsaken shores. Man, that was mouthful.
