the Terry in DQH1 isn't the same Terry who appears in DQH2.

This is what I meant. Infinite worlds theory and such.

Furthermore if we really want to go down this rabbit hole, its not like Dragon Quest hasn't already had multiple versions of the same characters... DQV Hero exists in a timeloop, Terry has an edgy as heck tragic version of himself he beat while commanding monsters as a kid, Terry also has no memory of being this monstery commanding guy, Kiefer also kind of did the role monster adventure but conveniently forgets about it... Ramia specifically brings up dimensional disturbances in DQH1, rather than merely saying worlds. Its a game made for fun, for fans to enjoy. Treating either title as canon in any way is a bit silly in my mind because if so then Nera and Bianca would have been able to just go and save the world themselves given how much power they gained from their pre-wedding night other world saving adventure...

I'm with the theory that Empyrea just ereased their memories to mantian the multiverse order.

I dont think there's multiple versions of each characters.

I hope in DQH3 explain this and why are certain heroes choosen.

  2. I don't think they did, but some people made a point on Jessica specifically. Honestly I personally tink that the characters that return, aren't the same as they were in Heroes 1. A different Terry,a different Jessica, ect.

What do you mean by a "different terry or a different jessica?" if im not mistaken there's only one of them, unless im missing something?

Do you mean there's diferent versions of the DQ8 world?

    ,

I'm also curious why the lack of DQ2 and DQ5 representation, i can understand why there isnt 3,9 or 10 reps, but those 2 have "pre-made" party members.

I hope we get a Parry/Sancho pair-up next game (however Parry/Madchen seems more likely).

  3. What elements of Heroes did XI incorporate? (Or if it's a spoiler, just say that :P )

2 of Camus Skills; "Bushin" (The Alena divide attack) and that Earth Spell are from Dragon Quest Heroes.

There's 2 or 3 weapons from DQXI that are from the Heroes games as well.

This makes DQXI the first core game that introduces elements from the DQ spin-offs.

I hope we keep getting elements from the Heroes games and the other spin-offs.

The monster series has a $#!& ton of original monsters and skills that could be used in the main series.

I dont think Builders has much of it going on, trough.

  4. I don't really care about the hero in any of the games tbh, he's just there for me.

He's a pretty uninteresting party member, heck even the DQ2 party or Nevan was more interesting than the heroes.

DQ8 hero has the best desing, trough i like him.

I'd like if in DQ12 they spice things up and allow the hero to talk, so not only the party members talk.

Heroes did it, it worked just fine.

Seeing how story-driven DQ11 is compared to the rest to the series, i think DQ12 might have the first voiced hero in the series.

I'd like to see another 8 party in 12 , trough it worked pretty well in 11.

  5.

videogame characters i hate [are everyone] from FF12

    Ditto!

Um, yangus...i think ashlynn is a LONG ways off fron being the worse playable character ( Prince of cannock (dq 2) and cristo (dq 4 nes) ).

    Cristo!? But... but... but... but...

Nah, just Ashe. (Bacsh is pretty bad character as well, but at least it makes my annoying sister entretainted)

Prince of Canoock? Until he is in a Dragon Quest Heroes game im not going to juddge him, since we dont know that much about the DQ2 party.

Kiryl is okay, i guess i like him.

  6. That is it? Meh. Few new monsters were kinda cool, but my main point of interest is what seems to be a

Loss Leader (who also has "evil" version), and the Dhuran-based monster in dragon helmet

    - wonder what's the deal with these? I cannot read Japanese...

Those Dhuran-based enemies are just regular monsters.

i mean in DQVIII they had some of the bosses recolors as regular enemy.

DQ4 has the best age balanced party of the series ineed.

    Teenagers; Alena,Kiryl

    Young Adults; Hero,Menna, Maya

    Adults; Torneko, Ragn

    Oldies; Borya

I wonder how the othe male characters will react to Sylvia, trough

Man 4 had such an iconic cast, not particularly well developed, but still memorable. I think Silvia will partially play the part of comic relief sometimes irritating other characters with his positive attitude.

Sylvia is a pretty interesting character, indeed.

According to ppl who are already playing, Silvia seems to

self-identify as a woman and uses female pronouns

    .

    So yeah,interesting indeed)

So is he the first transexual/LGTB party member in the series?

I believe so yeah. It's kinda cool really. I mean there have been crossdressing jrpg party members like Faris from Final Fantasy 5 but I can't think of any trans ones.

i have a gut feeling that some people hate Sylvia cuz he's trans.

Eitherway, im surprised SE decided to make a trans party member, they'll know there will be hate for it

I mean in the age we live in now there will definately be people who will be pissed just becouse they feel like square enix is listening to SJW's and all that crap. I have even seen people who were angry at Yoko Taro of all people just becouse there was a machine with a female voice who identifies as a male in the game.

I wish people would respect other people that are diferent than them.

I don't know why there's guys that care so much and get pissed off with gay men so much, like why do they care? it's lke they're afraid that they might like men or something

Yeah, for some it is religion, for some it is the idea that it isn't natural, some just think it is gross and uncomfortable and some just like to hold on to the idea that any and all things related to "social justice" is a bad thing.

If it is well written and fits naturally into the game I can really appreciate that kind of stuff. I love how Yoko Taro revealed after the first Nier game that one of the main characters was gay. And it is super inconsequential to the story, but when you look back at certain lines of dialogue it makes a lot of sense. And it even added something to the character. Or just a trans character like Sylvia who looks super comfortable with herself sounds great as well. I love more representation like that.

Yeah, it's nice to see how comfortable Sylvia is with being hemself and she doesn't care about what others think of her.

I really like the range of ages in the party, it feels like there are people from all walks of life just like in Dragon Quest 4. It's not just all young people. I'm gonna have Hero, Martina, Rhou and Silvia as my main party as soon as I can. I love Silvia, he's so extravagant and flamboyant.
