  1. Hmm, it seems "Iru to Ruka no Fushigi na Fushigi na Kagi" had only a japanese release, is there an english patch project for it? I'd love to play this version, it's probably the best version right? If I can't find a translation patch for it, I'll be happy to go replay the original gameboy color version, but I'd much prefer to play on 3ds, so I figured I'd ask here about a translation patch for this game before giving up. I've always felt like dragon quest monsters joker 2 pro was the definitive best dqm game because it had like 500 monsters, but it's been a decade since I played the original non-joker dragon quest monsters 2 on gameboy. I should totally replay dragon quest monsters 2 to compare, I bet it'll be something I appreciate even more. Although I do like the cool 3d art in dragon quest joker 2pro. edit: whoa i just realized dqmj3pro is already out, i wonder if pro solves this thread's complaints?
  2. Please reissue this invitation. It is expired. I would like to join. Is this the same patch I used? when I played through the game about a year ago? and asked you personally a few silly questions about it? or has new work been done and updated since then? in this file?
  3. dq10 didn't ever get an english release did it? also is terry no wunderland the 3ds version of dqm2? is that the one you meant? or was there a 2d release on 3ds of dqm2?
  4. even in dqmj2pro the strong and strongest monsters aren't even palletteswapped... plus similar but technically different monsters might have lazy art but their existence might mean unique abilities which end up mattering? plus uh? aren't they all ride-able in dqmj3? makes sense if they have to do more art for each monster and they still want lots of monsters then they'll need some pallette swaps?
  5. saying that large size monsters limits the player's freedom to play the game how they want is just.... silly. the game was simpler and less complicated without large size monsters. ya know what else limits dqm? the fact I can't use a machine gun or a jet plane :-p mark rosewater wrote a beautiful article on magicthegathering.com about how limits are what made game design entertaining. if you want unrelenting freedom play some sort of no-ruleset imagination based pen and paper game... or... probably what you want is to join an improv group :-p or just watch "who's line is it anyway?"
  6. Metal kaiser is totally worth using less monsters for quite a long while. At least in joker2pro where metal king and grandpa slime are much much harder to fuse than the kaiser is. I agree the three tile sized monsters are awful but some of the two sized monsters aren't so bad. If they act twice and have good stats. Big monsters are AWFUL at scouting though because they don't get to act twice during scouting to makeup for their size... but healers/mages with high hp/mp/def/agi/wis and low atk are already bad at scouting so imo sized two mages are totally fine. Most of them are bad, but most size one monsters are also bad. Plus ... most monsters in the game aren't very good, but they look cool, size 3 monsters make for epic feeling boss fights! recruiting bosses even if they're not that good in your party is still fun, I like the ability to recruit 100% of every single enemy in the game, that's one big feature for me of DQM which games like say SMT don't always have.
  7. I'd love it if this came out in the us, but I wonder, how hard is it to do a 3ds fan translation? impossible? I know that for nds translations emulators really help the translation process right?
  8. That's okay, it has been lots of years, I just thought maybe you'd know, I can always just try all the cheats and see what happens! Yeah I found a save editor but the UI for the save editor I found is entirely in japanese so I'm not sure how to use it. I've re-read your cheat code list a dozen times and I think one of the cheats might allow you to select a monster in your library and then immediately trigger a fight with it, combined with the cheat to unlock the entire library that might let you scout any monster. I'm still struggling to beat the final couple bosses in the new world and I still have 100 non-egg non-wifi monsters to breed before I try it though, so I'll try it after I do those first. It sounds odd though to fight a battle inside the airship, so maybe that won't work!
  9. I don't know that I have any idea how to do that, and manually editing the url leads to the correct results (for all of these except dracolord). if I find them all and put them in my post that'll at least make it possible for someone to find what they're looking for by manually editing url's (even if it's not convenient)
  10. http://www.woodus.com/den/games/dqm5prods/synthesizing.php entirely ignores Mechan-o-wyrm aka Mechanowyrm it can be selected as mechanowyrm but it only appears as mechan-o-wyrm. if you search for a result of something it can be an ingredient for it will appear as mechan-o-wyrm. if you search for it as an ingredient though it will not appear, nor as a result. I think this is a bug due to the fact it has two names in different places, if anyone still edits that database choosing a name and sticking with it should fix it. this is a pretty minor issue. sorry if this isn't worth bringing up. edit: NOT that minor!!! same bug! King Cure Slime versus King cureslime! In the database it appears as King Cure Slime (such as when you search for King Slime as an ingredient) but on the dropdown menu you can only select King cureslime! which isn't a real monster and isn't in the database and is not part of any recipe as an ingredient or result (because it's supposed to be king cure slime in the database) not sure if there are anymore typos like this. Further proof and a workaround! just edit the url manually yourself: if you use the search you get this url: http://www.woodus.com/den/games/dqm5prods/synthesizing.php?searchfor=King+cureslime&specialonly=yes&whichcol=ingredients&submitbutton=Submit+Query you can edit it manually to get the results you want http://www.woodus.com/den/games/dqm5prods/synthesizing.php?searchfor=King%20Cure%20Slime&specialonly=yes&whichcol=ingredients&submitbutton=Submit+Query found another typo: Liquid metal slime king should be Liquid Metal King Slime Also Kapurigon should be Kap http://www.woodus.com/den/games/dqm5prods/synthesizing.php?searchfor=Kap&whichcol=results&submitbutton=Submit+Query another one: dracolord versus http://www.woodus.com/den/games/dqm5prods/synthesizing.php?searchfor=Dragonlord&whichcol=results&submitbutton=Submit+Query dragonlord works but it is dracolord you can select on the dropdown box.... actually though manually inputing dragonlord gives the receipes that involve dracolord (the little man even though it shows the icon of the dragon) there's no way at all to search anything for the other dragonlord (actual dragon) because the database can't handle two monsters with identical names... the monster list solves this problem by calling one dracolord and one dragonlord but the synth searcher doesn't have that seperation. another one: Alphyn needs to instead be Nodoph TimeSage needs to be Time Sage she-slime needs to be she slime
  11. Sorry to keep pestering you, but I have another question. Since you're the one who posted all the cheat codes over at gamefaqs http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/608644-dragon-quest-monsters-joker-2-professional/58704037 (cool!) Do any of these let me get the eggs without wifi enabling the egg store? or the egg monsters directly via a cheat? I want to get all the wifi monsters if possible by cheating, after I beat the game. I can see here holy slime knight claims he cheated to get unobtainable monsters https://web.archive.org/web/20111004032741/http://dqmj2p.wikkii.com/wiki/Savegames but I have no idea which cheat he used to do that, none of them seem to say they give you a monster? or an egg? Ideally the best cheat for me to use would just enable the egg merchant and let me hatch the eggs normally, I don't want to get overpowered, I just also don't wanna miss out now that wifi is gone..,
  12. does this mean joker 2 professional if is dead forever? http://save-nintendo-wifi.com/ this site mentions fan servers but it doesn't mention anything about ANY dragon quest games? is the OP in this post referring to a different fan project? if so maybe it's making progress? where would I go to check? did you ever manager to save professional? or is that much harder than saving the regular edition?
  13. You haven't added any confusion, the pages themselves confused me a bit though! I guess that means that there flat out is no good/useful english resource for the things I am asking, and the japanese wiki I've been referring to is the best one. Another question, what exactly needs to be done to make the liquid metal king spawn? I found this chinese wiki for dqmj2pro https://translate.google.com/translate?sl=auto&tl=en&js=y&prev=_t&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&u=dqmj2.ffsky.cn%2Fafterclearpro.htm&edit-text= It's also mentioned on the japanese wiki but not that clearly, I guess I'm just not far enough into the game for him to spawn, I'm still clearing out the final castle. I guess he doesn't spawn until you beat that? From the translation though it sounds like there's another spawn condition on top of that, but maybe I'm just misunderstanding it. edit: found another easily google translated japanese wiki! https://translate.googleusercontent.com/translate_c?depth=1&hl=en&ie=UTF8&prev=_t&rurl=translate.google.com&sl=auto&tl=en&u=http://kumicyou.sakura.ne.jp/dqmj2/&usg=ALkJrhgufpsSd06Nqw72_u1X79rEEWXR9A one of the highlights is the item list full with the sources of every item in the entire game! if they're drop it has droprates and location the monsters spawn! https://translate.googleusercontent.com/translate_c?depth=1&hl=en&ie=UTF8&prev=_t&rurl=translate.google.com&sl=auto&tl=en&u=http://kumicyou.sakura.ne.jp/dqmj2/item_item.html&usg=ALkJrhhvF5wxu9uHUQhhMUr6PwAV5Yix_A I think this might be a detailed guide on the oldman named GJ spawning and offering challenges... which I've never seen... might have to beat the new world to trigger it? https://translate.googleusercontent.com/translate_c?depth=1&hl=en&ie=UTF8&prev=_t&rurl=translate.google.com&sl=auto&tl=en&u=http://kumicyou.sakura.ne.jp/dqmj2/yori_gj.html&usg=ALkJrhgGOw-JigXwsQ1cOHzJheBM_LM4VQ#3 and this is a great guide to the small parts the vending machine needs to upgrade itself (that I never really knew about before at all) https://translate.googleusercontent.com/translate_c?depth=1&hl=en&ie=UTF8&prev=_t&rurl=translate.google.com&sl=auto&tl=en&u=http://kumicyou.sakura.ne.jp/dqmj2/yori_shop.html&usg=ALkJrhjMuOt3tpjtfo8_VWCq9jqp9BE1fg
  14. oh are those for pro? I thought those were only for dqmj2 vanilla? the subtitles of those pages doesn't mention the word pro I cannot off the top of my head think of a pro only monster to check it, but I bet you're right. Also I must've just wanted to tack on a new skill. Only the captured metal dragon must've only had assassin... and the child has uber blizzard uber healer abliterator ward and ice breath ward... the skill search pages http://www.woodus.com/den/games/dqm5ds/startingskillsets.php?searchfor=Ice+Breath+Ward&submitbutton=Submit+Query doesn't mention where to get ice breath guard or abliterator ward at all but I found: http://translate.googleusercontent.com/translate_c?act=url&depth=1&hl=en&ie=UTF8&prev=_t&rurl=translate.google.com&sl=ja&tl=en&u=http://www.dqmj-2.com/skill/hubukiburesu-guard.html&usg=ALkJrhi3rIvE3tm6jN1M02PFgReSW1Qi2g this confirms that metal dragon's children can start with ice breath guard? despite metal dragons not having it? looks like a hole in woodus's dqmj2p skill search page? is this because these skills are new in pro? and that search page is only for non-pro?
