  1. I checked. They blend in with the other items far too easily; but you where right, it was in the big chest. Gonna build it now! Thank you so much!
  2. I'll look again tomorrow, but I don't remember seeing it in there either. I'll post again what happens. Thanks for the help thus far.
  3. I heard that kind of answer elsewhere, but how do you make it into an item? I don't understand. The bearded guy took the papers, deciphered them, and then I have the blueprints. (But not as an item. Only place I'm seeing it is in the menu listing the different blueprints. Where do you press square, exactly??? In what part of the menu do you press square? I press it when I'm on the blueprint, cursor on the name, -- nothing happens
  4. I apparently forgot how to bring up blue prints and to overlay on the town so I can build them. I touch the touch pad -- nothing happens. I need to build the stone stockade. I have the materials, enough space on the edge of town I believe. All I can do is open the menu, go into buildings, and look at the stupid thing and a 3d model. Pressing square, or the touch pad while on it do nothing. What am I doing wrong???
  5. Thank you! Why can't the manual even mention that? No one on yahoo answers would answer either. It was driving me batty. Again, thank you for your quick reply.
  6. In dragon quest heroes, how do you use Yggdrasil leaves? Can't figure out how? How do you revive allies? This is driving me nuts! Not the manual, not the internet -- no one has come up to this question?? Someone please answer it! I've obviously only reached through early missions, when reviving isn't needed, because I HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO REVIVE CHARACTERS? Not one single person online has encountered this problem????
  7. I know its a long-shot, but Nintendo has opened themselves up to possible ideas for new characters in DLC for Super Smash Brothers. I voted for, and suggest others do the same, for the Dragon Quest Hero. I wrote in that they could have the first main hero of DQ, as Sword/Shield fighter -- and also include alternate skins for DQ Heroes 2 - 8 (like they did with the Koopa Kids) I know it likely won't happen -- but it's something intriguing enough that I think, if other people also voted for this, it might be considered. I mean, Dragon Quest is a legacy series for both America and Japan. 3ed party fighters might be an even bigger challenge to be approved -- but, again - Japan REALLY likes Dragon Quest. Lucas was approved, and he doesn't even have a game in America. (though clones as easier, I know) This should at least be taken seriously, if they see enough people submit it. Remember - only vote once. Here's the link: https://cp.nintendo.co.jp/us/
  8. I have been walking in endless circles, trying to enter the gate to Hamlin. Arther is no where to be seen, and the guards say I can't enter without a companion. No guide on the internet seems to be helpful either (even on this site!!! It just says, suddenly, the guards will let me through. HOW?!) Please tell me. I'm at level 9, and not getting to Hamlin any quicker. edit: never mind. Found him. It should be pointed out -- you HAVE to talk to the King of Midnal (your character's father) to hear that Auther has left Midnal, and then find him in Leftwayne.
  9. I am very excited about Dragon Quest 3 on the iphone -- but I need to know, are the rotating panels (seen near the end of the game, and especially in the final castle) still there? The controls on the IOS work well enough - but not under that amount of pressure, wether left is right, up is down, ect, ect. They made a few things easier (the farie flute in DQ1 is lit up like a chistmas tress) -- those rotating panels just seem like something they might consider taking out, given the new control scheme. So are they still there? Are they just as horrible, as when using a D-Pad?
  10. http://www.siliconera.com/2013/05/31/square-enix-invites-fans-to-ask-questions-for-their-upcoming-e3-event/ Square-Enix is apparently going to have a Japanese Fan Questions segment for E3. While english question likely won't get asked, the article notes, I thought it would be a good idea to suggest we tweet in questions (or comments -- NICE comments, not angry) asking about US releases for Dragon Quest games, like DQ Monsters Terry's Wonderland, DQ7 3DS, and DQX for Wii U. Just tweet with this hashtag #北瀬ã•ã‚“ While its a longshot they would reply (it is Final Fantasy-centric) -- it might at least give us all a chance to directly tell Square that we want to see Dragon Quest over in the US. (it couldn't hurt)
  11. http://www.siliconera.com/2013/01/02/dragon-quest-vii-brings-its-streetpass-stone-trading-feature-online/ They announced that Dragon Quest VII is going to feature street pass - but also an online option, for trading Stones. That sounds to me like a change added specifically to make the system work better for a non-Japanese audience, don't you think? I sure hope they announce US releases for the various Dragon Quest games. Dragon Quest Terry's Wonderland would definitely be first, right? At least this news about the Stones sounds promising. (at least on the N3DS front)
  12. I thought, if they re-did Dragon Quest VII, it would be similar to the previous games (taking the PSOne graphics, and putting it on a handheld). They seem to be going much farther than I would have hoped for.
  13. Can someone tell me what was said about DQX in Japanese Nintendo Direct (gametrailers wasted an half hour of my life, because they mis-identified the english version as having the same info)
  14. Having an ending sounds good - but having it continue on afterwords is also good (replaying DQ9, you find a lot of fun just leveling up; becomes a good pick-up and play game) My question, though, is which race is best to start with? I keep thinking the little Pupo-whatevers would be cool to try out (they are cute, after all)
  15. Has anyone seen this article? It says there's a hint in a Nintendo Press release that Dragon Quest X might be brought over to the US. That sounds promising, right? And if they are going to the trouble of bringing over DQX, then DQM:Terry's Wonderland and DQ VII seem like an easy "Yes". http://www.dualshock...ossibly-hinted/ It's a rumor, though. Fingers cross, though. EDIT: Sorry, see it - this was already brought up by Sir Gooey. Still - lets have some more optimism about it!
  16. Well, its always taken time to properly bring them over. Missing the Christmas window isn't that concerning to me -- because they obviously put effort into the translations. Plus, any game not being Skylanders or a big-name shooter aren't going to be big sellers in the Christmas season. (It's always after Christmas, the games I want to get come out) What do you all mean by Square-Enix having given up on the franchise over here? DQ 6 got released (if it's through Nintendo, I didn't notice a difference in quality. So by all means, publish through Nintendo) Looking forward to March. Seriously, wether published by Nintendo or not, they haven't failed us (on the main titles) yet. BTW, I got Fortune Street for my iphone. It plays well even blown-up on the ipad! I feel quite lucky we didn't get passed over in the Fortune Street area yet, either.
  17. Thanks. I really want to stay optimistic - as Square-Enix has yet to let us down bringing main series titles over to the US. But the silence really overpowers optimism. I sure hope they do bring all the Dragon Quest games to the US. Seriously, its one of the few series that immediately is treated like a "Must Buy".
  18. I've been out of the loop for a while - but I'm pleased to see Dragon Quest X is doing well. I was surprised and delighted to see Dragon Quest VII is in the works -- but, have any word been given about when and if these games will be published in America. I still see no US Release date for Terry's Wonderland, for the 3DS. I get that it takes about a year to translate the game and push it over here, but It sounds like Square Enix has been playing worldwide releases closer to the vest than usual? I'm getting a Wii U - and even thought its not the same market place as Japan, I think Nintendo could do very well releasing the game over here (paid fee or not). Maybe they could include an ad, when you begin a session, to make it profitable. With so much silence, it makes me nervous that they are simply going to pass on bringing the series over to the US. I think, if they do bring it over, it would be wiser to release it solely on the Wii U - since the higher presentation value, and the year-release difference, would make the Wii U version more attractive to begin with. (Plus, the regular Wii, despite it's earnest efforts, never managed to be an MMORPG friendly.) Beyond that, though, I would just LOVE to get Dragon Quest 7 and DQ Monsters Terry's Wonderland brought over here. Considering the 3DS still lagging library of titles, some solid RPGs seems exactly like what the system needs. Can anyone tell me if there's been any word about any of this?
  19. I actually went out of my way to buy this game for the PS1. Excellent game - but there came a point where I got stuck, unable to advance -- and thinking of going back to it, after all this time, I would rather start from the beginning. It's a very long game, even by regular Dragon Quest standards. The addition DQ9-style graphics is cool! Someone said that the job classes will be visible? Very nice addition. But I'm glad I was able to play the original, and know what its like, before moving onto this new version. Has a US release been announced? I know its most likely going to come over, but Nintendo has been frustratingly slow in announcing anything. Still now news on DQX? Not even for the Wii U? I heard about the price of it in Japan, which doesn't sound that bad. I really would be willing to pay $5 (not over $10, though) to be able to play DQX. I know its going to take a long time to translate, and bring it over here -- but they could at least talk about it. (I've been out of the loop - has there been any comments by Nintendo?) I really hope they considered an off-line mode, for the US at least. (I know that is wishful thinking, though) No word on Terry's Wonderland for the US? It really would be a shame if Nintendo didn't do a US release, considering how badly the 3DS still needs quality games. The one thing I hope they add to Dragon Quest 7 - is a way to manage all the interlinking times, and keep track of what you've done, and what is left to do. Thats a big reason I would rather start from scratch - because all of my progress simply had to be remembered.
  20. Well this is good news. But I'm not going to get my hopes up until something more offical gets stated; it still feels like a longshot. But I'd definately buy any kind of anniversay collection they put together (translated NES/SNES, or the version that where originally released in America)
  21. That final boss is just plain hard. I was literally down to my last breath -- having kept me and party alive and going for a good long while. When I no longer had any magic, or supplies left to utilize -- that's when I finally beat him; on the dot -- another few seconds and I would have been dead.
  22. The best pre-order bonus ever was the Paint Brush when you got Okamiden. I looked online, and it isn't even available on ebay. And it was such a good peripheral -- the larger size really made it easier to use, switching between regular controls and using the Stylist. It was so good, and such an improvement to the actual game, I think they should have included it with every copy. As for what I'd like to see with Dragon Quest X? A wacky idea - but why not a slime-shaped nun chuck? Or a Stuffed Slime - it doesn't matter. What would be cool, though, is if they had a Collector's Edition. Include CDs of all the music in the game; booklet with artwork, and maybe a disk with a documentary. Or if not that, why not a disk giving us American players the original 3 NES games? That would be worth an extra $20 - and would definitely make the purchase seem more worthwhile for the inevitable time I stop playing it, or it's no longer supported online.
  23. That is exactly right! I had that same problem when buying the PS2. If you have a PS3, the kind that has backwards compatibility - then it has digital saving for ps1 and ps2 games. (That's how I played my copy of the game.) Either way - nice to see other people jumping on board for the longest DQ adventure ever! I thought it was very, very good -- if a bit slow. Got stuck on one powerful boss, and never got back to it. I swear, it's been so long I'd simply need to start over again - I wouldn't remember anything about the world explored already.
  24. Yeah - but how popular is Dragon Quest compared to Final Fantasy in America? It's like a death sentence to come out with an MMORPG, requiring a fee, with a still under-aware public of Dragon Quest. The only thing going for Dragon Quest X, in terms of getting a lot of attention, is that it will be coming out with, or sometime soon after the Wii U release. I love Dragon Quest - but I also realize the reality of it's popularity over in America. There isn't a single Dragon Quest release without somebody saying "they just ripped off Dragon Ball Z". That's not good for a game launch depending so much on constant gamer support, just to remain in the market place and be a viable MMORPG.
