I was playing, and one of my partners had a Liege Lizard whistle. I tried looking into where to find it, but instead found some other items tied to events we haven't had yet, like the Joker 3 hero's outfit. Can anybody shed some light on this stuff?

The time has come for a new card pack in Dragon Quest Rivals. This one will be slightly focusing on DQ3. Also, the game is currently celebrating its 3rd Anniversary and is giving out a bunch of goodies, including an expansion to the Story Mode.

I agree. Fortunately it's a lot of the heaviest hitters were in the older packs, which seems to be what you missed. Stuff like Estate and Jamirus for example.

Just a heads up. The 8/13 release date is based on Japan time. It will likely be earlier depending on your timezone. Perhaps even Wednesday night?

We got a new trailer, mostly for the story mode, that also acts as a sort of overview trailer for the game as a whole. We also have a release date for Story Mode, and the new card pack, as August 13th.

I feel that it be a big risk for Square to localize this. Lots of text and voice work to translate, all for a free to play, fairly niche genre. Buuuut, with the rebranding being designed to pull in knew players according to the devs, this is as good a time as any.

No set release date aside from August 2020, but we'll be getting a single player campaign complete with skill trees and other RPG mechanics. At the same time, the game will be retitled to Dragon Quest Rivals Ace, and add a bunch of new cards. More details coming August 6th, and I'll post them as soon as I have them.

Yes, it's quite extensive. Some of them are less tutorial and more puzzle. So if that's your cup of tea, go for it. Also, each month, that little gate with the Stars resets so keep that in mind when it happens next week haha.

I think I need to head back to the tutorials. I do enjoy the gameplay, but I absolutely can't stand playing games against or with others. It's like my solo DQX journey, just let me play with & against AI. There's a simplicity there I enjoy.
Sorry...haha. did I mention we're getting a single player mode sometime in July?

This is actually the best time to give the game a try if you're on the fence. From now until June 30th, you can use any card, whether you own it or not.

Also, can you customize your deck in that mode?The bronze thing with the Stars is Ranked Play with other real people. There will be a story mode coming in the near future though. As for changing your deck: on the main menu, tap the cards, and than the suitcase. Here's an image

Erik's tutorial is shorter because he was added later. And while yeah, there are a bunch of different currencies, they pretty much all go into getting more cards. Some cards are exclusive to certain characters, like Hendrick can only be used by Terry, for example. It be too much to breakdown all the different mechanics they've added over time, but if any of you are interested, I'll answer questions to the best of my ability.
