  1. I love this game, but I will probably never play DQ7 again after this.

The movement doesn't bother me. What does is not having the ability to Zoom at all in the past. I get not being able to Zoom to other areas, given the nature of the game, and it wouldn't make sense in light of the continents being completely locked off, even from one another in the duration of the party's presence, but even Zooming back to the one town you get to see (or two/three in a handful of scenarios) would have been nice.

I don't know, the problem I have is the so-called backtracking fits in well with the storyline. It helps solidify, in part, the way the timeline works out, and how the interlocking element functions. Maybe a zoom to the warp point would have been nice. Or having visited the town in the past, Zoom would be available in the present time, which would avoid a lot of traversing hassle, and probably eliminate the issue of story-forced returns to other towns. Like the Dig Site or Emberdale.<...

Yeah...that would have helped, since you'd still be forced to use the boat in most playthroughs, as few will go all the way to level 8 in the first area, or just lock off Zoom until after Emberdale, since the story requires boat travel for Ballymolloy and Emberdale...which makes sense since it provides that sense of...oh wow it really is the same town as in the past.

  2. I played DQ7 for 10 hours yesterday O_o

I think the most I've ever played it was around 7 hours on and off in one day.

  3. I really should update this status, but I'm too depressed to say anything funny.

OH, wow, I'm sorry to hear that. I hope he passed peacefully.

Thanks. Sorry, I always forget to check my status replies. He did pass peacefully, when it actually happened. It was a very emotional passing, though, as he was in the ICU for two or three days practically just waiting for it to happen.

  4. I want to do the Dark King event, but it's more important that I grind the Gold Coast levels for the entire weekend. :-( Decisions decisions.

  5. Just got my fifth and final Leon!

  6. I've been grinding Palaise de Leon for days and haven't gotten anymore Leons :(

  7. I can't believe I've put this much time into DQMSL

I guess I technically have five. They all have to be level 80 before I can buddy boost them too -_-

  9. Just when I thought I was done with DQMSL, the Balzack even reopens. Time for some Buddy Boosting!

  10. Dragon Quest III was way ahead of its time.

Yes, yes it was. However, are you referring to anything specific?

@Ignasia: The Immigrant Town, Class system, & Flying vehicle (Ramia) were the most standouttish things. For a game that was originally released on the NES, these seem like features that would appear much later in the series.

  11. Dragon Warrior VII never ends...

Every end is a new beginning. Every beginning is another beginning's end.

Nope. That's why it's so good. You never have to stop playing.

      Ignasia, I love that song...

It is really enjoyable. Nothing wrong with a long epic story.
