  1. In the span of about five hours I trained everyone from under 70 to 99. Got a few Slime Crowns out of it, but no extra Orichalcum. Rare alchemy ingredients like those seem so scarce that there might as well be a finite amount of them. Now to figure out the best armour for everyone, then I'll finish up the dragons and boss gauntlet.
  2. Beat the Monster Aren's highest rank with Skeledoid, Octurion, and Nohi. Skeledoid was the VIP due to his ability to put those tree monsters to sleep. Now I'm grinding for Memeory Lane and pulling my hair out over one unaccounted-for Mini Medal. At this rate I'll end up with 138 out of 139. Question: Do those rare monsters that appear after beating 30 of their common counterpart serve any purpose besides Codex challenges? Rare drops or anything?
  3. ...and it turns out I already recruited it but didn't remember. The shame! Nice! What's your strategy for raising everyone's tension and using Oomph without getting debuffed first?I'll give you a hint: get Jessica's Sex Appeal up to 68 points.Huh, figured that would be as ineffective against bosses as Sap.If you know Estark, you'll know why the move works on him.Youngins these days. No sense of history or respect for the classics. I refer you to DQIV. Now. Played it many times, that bit just slipped my mind. Is that a DLC thing, or is there another set of requests after filling
  4. You could simply back up the photo since photos are saved in the SD card. Then you can delete the extra data. Oh well, next time I beat the game again.

  6. About to delete the extra data. It'll cost me a nice portrait of Trode that you can only see in the postgame, so this had better work.

  8. Okay, where in the heck is the Archdemon/Archfiend? All the guides say it's on the bridge near Tyran Gulley, but I've been up and down that bridge countless times and it's just not there. I've beaten the game and am S rank in the arena.
  9. Did this battle have an enemy that called for backup? It happens when a certain combination of enemies flee while others are defeated. Most commonly when metal slimes appear alongside other foes. Either that or Yangus tried his hand at narration.
  10. I believe it can be found at Neos, if I remember correctly. I believe it can be found at Neos, if I remember correctly. Come to think of it, I did find a treasure chest there when I visited after doing the Citadel. I thought I just hadn't noticed it the first time. Thanks!
  11. I missed a treasure chest in the Black Citadel, but didn't make a big deal about it because someone on GameFAQs said you can go back there after beating the game. Am I missing something, or was that a bald-faced lie?
  12. I showed my friend a picture of Trode the other day and now she keeps asking me how "Pepe Yoda" is doing.
  13. Just starting the postgame world. Even with my party around level 50, Rhapthorne was kind of tough. Hero had to spend every other turn Omnihealing. This isn't exactly the right thread to ask, but are there any good MKS-hunting moves besides Executioner and Lightning Thrust?
  14. The Flight accessible always have at least one spot where, regardless of what point you trigger to land, it plants you on that particular spot. That one area is the only spot with two spawn points for the same flight accessible area, depends on how close you are to which side when you click to land. Makes sense, thanks.
  15. Very handy, thanks for your work. I notice there are two flight-accessible spots marked at the south end of the desert. Is that a mistake? I can only find one.
  16. I think that's what he means he's already done. Oh, I think I misread then. In that case, Morrie's Claws are really good. His later Attack skills are very nice. As for Red, I'd say Knives. Her last skill, Blade Cascade, can apparently rack up damage really well if she reaches 50 or more tension and Oomphed. I was leaning towards their unique weapons, but I remember claws and fans not being that great in DQIX. I'll at least go for claws if they're so highly recommended.
  17. Both Red and Morrie have over 100 Skill Points saved up because I'm not sure which weapon to invest them in. Both already have their unique skillset maxed out. What would you guys suggest?
  18. Just got the Soulstone. Thanks to an hour or two of MKS grinding, my main party is now about six levels higher than they should be. As an aside, I can't believe anyone found the Pirate's Cove without a walkthrough. Only one very nondescript NPC over at Savella Cathedral so much as hints towards its location.
  19. Neve rhaving played VIII before, will I regret naming him this? That depends. Do you want an actual name, or a nickname? Actual, but I've been on the naming screen for four hours now so I'm getting desperate.

  21. Cre-at-iv...ity? Is that some key item?
  22. Just got the game today, and now I am stuck on that most difficult of segments: The character-naming screen. Is there no standard name like Madason or Auster this time around? That would make things so much easier.
