  1. Mobile games have flooded the market. It should be f2p with microtransactions if it wants to do well. Paying anything over 50 cents on mobile is a no buy and most people I told about Dragon Quest agree. Especially bad ports. Final fantasy games for mobile have done very well for being a paid game. Its a change and like most things it takes time to accept change. Mobile is going to be a major platform for video games. Final Fantasy sells by name alone, Dragon Quest doesn't. It could have if Square took the momentum after DQIX like Capcom did with MH3 (MH4U is now the fastest selling MH game in the west, congrats to them!) But Square threw it away and the only people that care about the name are the hardcore fans. So yeah, I don't suggest Dragon Quest to anyone in a game shop any more cause why should I? I'll suggest em to get better games from the likes of Atlus or Nintendo. Least you know you're going to get the game solid game over here. Not some lazy overpriced port for your phone.

  3. I've told a fair few people not to bother with Dragon Quest Heroes since it's just a typical hack and slash game and that they should only get Dragon Quest I+II+III only if on sale cause phone games should not be expensive and ignore the rest of the badly ported games.
  4. Final Fantasy...good? Outside of online games Final Fantasy has been awful after FFIX came out. Don't forget that Square have yet to even announce Braverly Second. But here we are in a world where even games like Project X Zone 2 gets announced and right away is announced for the west as well. Truth be told I have no feelings towards the so called 'King of JRPGs' Square-Enix any more when they've been giving us nothing nothing but average games outside of the Dragon Quest games since the PS2 era, yet companies like Atlus, Namco, heck even Nintendo are giving the west titles that we want and are mostly all solid games. It just means my money will be elsewhere instead of Square-Enix, I'm not buying an overprice system like the PS4 for a musou game either. They keep saying they listen to fans but I think they only listen if you have Final Fantasy in the sentence.
  5. It's not shutting down, it'll keep going via PC for a while. (Then on phone...I think) Like I said, you never know with Nintendo fans, a lot were hesitant with Monster Hunter, now so many love it. They've yet to experience an MMO so it may be surprising if they enjoy it more, also MMO's are built more on the community, if Nintendo fans can build a family friendly community then people will come (Even ones that aren't into Dragon Quest but just want a new unique MMO) Heck even doing a promo where your character can dress up in Nintendo gear will get them more interested in the series. Also f2p is a double edge sword. I love f2p (Play Guild Wars 2 daily) but they get boring quite easily since updates and huge patches come out are very few, meanwhile paid MMO games usually get a lot of content every few months allowing every few months feel new and fresh. So the question is A.Get as many members playing it and hope to God a couple will continue to keep playing it because big updates are scarce. B.Don't get as many members but instead get a dedicated committed group which you'll know you'll get a regular income on a monthly basis cause the game continues to be updated. And God knows why Square doesn't do that especially for PC members, pay for a bit extra to allow you to freely play on any of the games. There will be dedicated Square-Enix fans that would be down for that. More easy money for Square.
  6. Same reason as to ask can Square justify to keep FFXI online? Since it's deader than dead game it still makes them money with the very small community it has and only now are they ending the expansions after like 14 years? What better way for Square to make money than to tap into both Sony's fan market (FFXIV) and Nintendo's fan market (DQX) in the west, when both games still have so much life in them that could easily last another 15 years.
  7. Everyone's sad mate. A really good looking MMO is not available to PC/WiiU and 3DS users in the west cause...'They need to make sure they understand the market better'.
  8. Where's IX? I can customise the character how I see fit. Heck if DQX was out here I'd choose that one because it prob has more options (Customisation for the win!)
  9. As long as it's not another sword character I'm fine. Smash is an amazing series cause it has such unique characters, if I was 13 I would prob want a hero, but now I think Slime would be cool. Also when people say what kind of there's no move set for slime, well, I never ever thought Pacman could could have a move set in Smash either but he has.
  10. But Pokemon has always been the same game so I haven't bought any since...I was in school. I don't get what you're saying? and pretty much yeah. I bought their bad touch screen games and I'm not buying an overpriced system like the PS4 with really weak specs thanks.
  11. I'll pre-order a Dragon Quest game when they bring RPG's not another boring Musou game that's been done a million times before.
  12. Wait a minute. Do I have to go off on my FFXII rant about how it can play itself for long periods of time...? You just described every modern offline single player Final Fantasy game since X came out. Heh, youll be surprised with FFXV then. Tap X to summon Ramuh when your HP is at 0 to win the game. Also 'See those mountains? You can't go there'
  13. It's interesting that they even put it up really. Are Square finally interested in having more than Japan to play this MMO? If anything from the looks of it, if they brought the game over here they'd do something similar to that of Monster Hunter. The rest of the world play with one another while Japan keep to themselves.

  15. Like a Smash Bros card game, cards of a lot of Nintendo franchises that can be done. Easy $$$ and if done right (Like Hearthstone) than Nintendo will roll around on another mountain of cash.
