  1. Guilty. Of repeatedly screwed over by Squeenix. Do it! My poor anus hurts. Thanks SE.. :/
  2. Safe Passage then go straight south from the teleporter, don't go upstairs.
  3. Hah, I had just done the Lighthouse and Cave to Rhone/Rendarak last night too.
  4. Hey, Horii agrees too. That said, they aren't going to localize only the mobile release when the massive undertaking is the thing keeping the remake from us. People say that home consoles don't sell anymore in Japan, but once the smartphone boom settles I think home consoles will be the focus of attention again. It's true that with smartphones and handhelds you have the benefits of taking them anywhere with you or watching TV as you play, but I think fans of video games are still feeling the desire to play games on the big screen. Also, with handhelds because the controller and the screen
  5. I've always been saying the west isn't going to get the mobile version if we aren't seeing the 3DS release. They aren't going to only localize it for mobile at $14.99-$19.99 a pop when a localization is the primary thing holding it back. Not when they can sell 3DS copies at $40-50 and mobile at a lower price in the future after they've capitalized on sales. It's either both versions (possibly staggered) or neither for DQVII in the west. Regardless of whether mobile is based on the PS1 release or 3DS, they'd still have to re-translate.
  6. Amazing. Even if both don't get localized, I'm positive the PS4 one will. And I need it in my veins, either version, new DQ.
  7. Something to do with her name or a variation of her name meaning dream in Gaelic.
  8. For all we know, Horii could have had to approve the changes, or at least had them run by him. He could even appreciate them. That said, yes I'm greedy but I would rather keep the puns, name changes, alliterations and accents. Not at the cost of no DQ games overseas, but the puns/jokes aren't the thing keeping DQ from being released, it's SE's impossible expectations.
  9. DQ puns, accents and alliteration for life.
  10. Apparently the prologue features both types on separate screens, and the battle thing is explained by what controls you get into battles with. D-pad gives 2D battles circle pad 3D. You have to choose between the two after the prologue to play the rest of the game in, but you can switch between the two at any point.
  11. i also find DQVII the better game over DQVIII, though the one thing I've praised DQVIII for is the presentation, scope, scale, the grandeur of it all. Not sure if unpopular or not, but DQVI is an awesome DQ and a personal top 5, beats DQVIII for me too. I also love the puns and accents and find they add to the charm for me. I prefer the new style over the older games, plus give me Plus Alpha (and to an extent 8-4 though toned it down) any day of the week. I love their work on the series, even Ragnar and Alena's chapters in DQIV, on top of the entirety of DQIX and their other works.
  12. Also, the 2D/3D aspect simultaneously on the dual screens for the 3DS version is only for the opening parts/prologue. After that you choose one of the two to play with, though you can apparently switch at any time. So it's like they are developing 3 separate versions of DQXI, so that fits 3 play-throughs of DQXI for me if localized. One for the PS4, one in 3D and one in 2D. http://www.siliconera.com/2015/07/30/dragon-quest-xi-on-3ds-wont-simultaneously-be-in-3d-and-2d-for-the-entire-game/
  13. While I'm not holding my breath, this might be something! /facepalm
  14. I absolutely love DQVI, one of my top 5 DQ games (next to DQVII, DQV, DQIII and DQIX), and have felt that way the little I played of the SFC release (up until they announced the Zenithia Trilogy DS for the west) and the DS remake. Feels very DQ to me, plus I love the cast. I also like the fact the game makes you figure out where you have to go and what to do, I'm always talking to NPCs constantly in games anyways and exploring, and DQVI is just a blast. Definitely surpasses DQIV for me, and in some cases DQV. Anyways, regarding DQVI, I'm one who had more fun with the World of Ruin aspec
  15. I agree. It's like picking a favorite ice cream flavor. Even if it's not the best, it's still ice cream!! No, that was never reported. It was reported it would be big and on TV with a home console. They never said exclusively or no 3DS. Seriously, they need to not do the punlations this time. I can't take that $#!& at all. I couldn't read the dialog for DQIV DS at all because it was so bad it made my eyes water. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the old translations, outside of a few spell names and monster names (HornyHare? CurseOff?). Now it's all so bad it makes me cry
  16. Yeah, I get that impression as well. This is likely to be the defacto DQ, that when we see DQ13, then 14, we'll look back and be all...wow, that was quite the release, wasn't it? DQ11 stands out as a truly magnificent title. Well, when this comes from the DQ event, you know they always give it their all but this one may be a special case. Sugiyama, who turned 84-years-old this year, said he will do his best to work on the title, and will give it his all as long as he’s still alive.
  17. Well yeah, each one is playing to the accompanying console's strengths, I imagine the "map" in DQXI will just be one you can bring up on the screen like DQVIII. I really want both versions myself.

Not that stoked about it? I'm excited as hell myself, and could possibly see DQX in the west too considering the PS4 release. That said, I'm 100% confident we'll get the PS4 version of DQXI, and quite hopeful for the 3DS release considering it's not a remake, spin-off or MMO on the 3DS. Not really a demake either, just two visions for the same game, one an old school styled effort and the other one an HD release more to follow in the foot-steps of DQVIII. Genius either way, I want both. I really love the dual screen uses for DQXI. Three actually. The Past, the Present, and the F

  20. So DQX coming to PS4 (and NX) also. Would be nice if we saw it, but yeah.
  21. Didn't they say both were releasing by the 30th anniversary?
  22. 3DS version will have 2D sprite battles + random battles when playing with the D-Pad and 3D battles when playing with the circle-pad. Ambitious title, ps4 and 3ds please ;;
