  1. Finished the game last night. Got the standard Medea ending. Reached the Dragovian Sanctuary but didn't face the Lord of Dragovians yet. I kinda don't feel like doing all the extra stuff. Really loved the game (didn't finish it on PS2 when I had the chance) but I think it's too much of a hassle since I'll have to spend several hours grinding in order to get a chance on the Trials and Memories Lane. So I think I'm done. Time to play some Metroid 2 remake.
  2. Finished the Cassino side-quest last night and spent some time getting tickets. Got enough to buy: 4 Liquid Metal Armors 2 Falcon Blades 1 Gringham Whip. Awesome upgrades. I think I'll mess around with the alchemy pot next and see what I can get. Why would you sell your 3DS?! I really didn't like it that much. I had a New 3DS XL with A Link Between Worlds, Pokemon Y, Kid Icarus, Mario 3D Land and Resident Evil Revelations. Got tired of it and sold the whole thing. Bought an Old 3DS XL for 1/3 of the gig I got from the previous one and I kinda wish I didn't. I still have my DS and that thing is a beast, I spent 4 years playing it every single day. I just can do it with the 3DS. The game library is not that appealing to me and apart from Dragon Quest 8 there's not a single game I want to play on it. Ok, maybe the next Metroid. But that's all. The 3DS was gathering dust here until I decided that it's time for me to finish DQ8 and say goodbye to this whole 3D world. I just played all I wanted.
  3. Defeated Dhoulmagus and Evil Jessica this sunday. Now I'm just joking around completing the Codex side quests and trying to upgrade my equips since I'm still using the ones I bought from my first visit to Argonia. I'm considering spend some time hunting for Metal Slimes so I don't have to grind later on. What bothers me is that the world map is so vast but so... empty. They could add some more stuff to it or scale it down a little bit. Want to sell my 3DS so I might start moving as fast as I can in order to complete this game before selling the handheld.
  4. My Xbox 360 DVD Drive just died last week. I have it for 5 great years and never had any problems before, so I'm not mad at my old friend, just upset. The C6 Capacitor and R1 Resistence just exploded while I was replaying Bioshock Infinite by the hundredth time. Sent the drive to this guy in São Paulo who's supposed to be a console repair specialist. Still waiting for a response. Hope we both have a happy ending, bro. =)
  5. Played a lot during the last couple of days (gotta thank the holidays for this). Just arrived at Argonia. I have my party at level 25 and have been doing all the Codex Photo Challenges until now. I have a total of 95 as I'm writing this. Also played a couple of rounds in Monster Arena until I reach Rank D. I'm using an Axoraptor, Skeleton Soldier and a Fowlfighter. Found 48 minimedals. I reckon that altough the maps are vast they are pretty much empty and the geography is boring. You pretty much roams around trying to find the chests (which are always in a corner) while avoiding some pesky enemy battles. Great game but I wish the maps were more populated or smaller.
  6. Angelo just joined my party. Still unsure if I should go swords or bow with him. Forgot how the voice-acting was great in this game. I really wish I could play my 3DS on the bus so I wouldn't have to wait so much between my game sessions.
  7. Got the orchestrated one. The awesome music is back. The only thing bothering me now is the oversaturated colors. Wish they also had a patch for this.
  8. Dude, I think that might be going too far. I mean, who could even handle that size?Is it even possible?Someone posted a video on Facebook of it. 18 inches is the current record. Wow. She must be something else. So... We are still talking about snow. Right?
  9. Bastion and Transistor. The games are awesome, love the solid gameplay, the atmosphere, the story and the amazing soundtrack. Really, at this point I'm willing to throw my money on anything Supergiant Games release.
  10. I really wanna get the game. But the syntethesized music and the over saturated colors made me unsure if I should. Games are definitely not cheap here in Brazil, so I gotta be careful. I'm considering maybe take the PS2 out of my closet and give it another go.
  11. Lords of The North - Saxon Tales Book 3, from Bernard Cornwell. The first two books are awesome. Sometimes Cornwell focus too much on the mundane aspects of life in Britain back in the old days. It's not unusual for him to spend 10 pages describing daily activities of the characters, which will make no impact on the story whatsover. I believe he is doing this just to make you feel more close to the caracters, more attached to them. Kinda works, but sometimes it's boring as hell. I have to confess that I'm having a hard time reading this one. But I expect to finish it as soon as possible and go read something else for a while.
  12. Wow. It's been a long time, since my last login. After 4 years working as a Management Consultant I finally got a job as a Software Developer (back to my expertise). I'm working for the biggest e-commerce company in Latin America. Colleagues are nice, environment is great, the job is awesome and the payment is not so bad. Finally have some free time to spend with my family and friends. And I'm not half stressed as I used to be when I was a consultant (My health was terrible back then). Also discovered myself as a wanna-be photographer. Bought an used Nikon P520 and while learning how to operate the damn thing I fell in love with photography. Definitely gonna improve my league with a DSLR as soon as I can. Here's my instagram with some of my pictures. Please, feel free to leave your opinion. https://www.instagram.com/leonardomarinh0/ Also had an EuroTrip in 2015 (Yeah, it's old, but I should really come back here more often).
  13. Played a lot of this came after the release but never finished it. Today I just loaded my old save file and found my characters in level 41 and my log report saying something about me eating some fygg that now I should wait to become a mortal. I have no idea what to do next. Last thing I remember is that I took the magical train back to the realm in the sky and defeated some bosses next to a huge tree. That's where I stopped playing long time ago. I've been reading the walktroughs on Gamefaqs.com and according to what they say all that's left for me is to beat the final boss. Problem is my characters are not in the heaven realm anymore and I can't find a way to take the train back there (my Zoom magic won't take me there either). Where is the damn train? Oh, Wise Ones, please enlight me.
  14. Haven't heard about Top Coder or Code Chef before. Thanks, Faolan. I'm signing up in both right now.
  15. Awesome App, Yoon. Thanks a lot. Reminds me of my youth when I used to spend the whole day with the PC on and Dragon's Den's maps in my browser while playing DQ on my GBC. Also, do you mind if I help you translate the app to Brazilian Portuguese? I thrust you have a strings file for the app, right? Keep up the good work.
  16. That's a great idea, Woodus. Maybe a web app that could evolve into an Android App later? Humn... I'll think about that and come back with something. First piece of advise work on analytical thinking and problem solving skills then start coding small things from scratch and then start working on bigger things. Two if your going to use someone else's code find out what License (ex BSD, GPL, or MPL) it is under if you can't find a License contact the Author of the code to ask before you use it you save your self and anyone your programming for the hassle of having to redo everything. An other thing learn about the different types of Licenses. Without writing your own programs from scratch and without experience don't expect to land writing code for some of the bigger projects you wold just wind up frustrated and wind up on giving up programming. I'm graduated in Information Systems, ethanej. Already worked a lot on analytical thinking, algoritms, problem solving skills, data structures and programming. What I'm lacking is real world experience. What we develop in University is far from the scale and complexity of real life applications. I've learned a lot from University, but since I'm working as a Consultant I'm far away from development teams. Now I can't apply to intern programs anymore and nobody would hire someone graduated but without exp. About writing my own programs and the frustration, I agree with you. Right now I have no skills to try anything. That's why I'm willing to do small projects for free, just to learn and let people know my name. How about an app that when you win a Pachisi prize you can transfer it to your DQ3 mobile save's inventory? That would be hard since it will have to modify your save file from the oficial game. But I think it's the same principle of hacking save files like people use to do with Pokémon games. If I remember correctly some of the challenges from Pachisi Tracks demands you to defeat some enemies using your hero. If I can access the save files from the mobile game that challenge can be replicated. Really? Wow, that would be great. Thanks Kalmana. I'll PM you right now. =D
  17. As some of you know I'm Brazilian, graduated in Information Tecnology last year and I'm currently working with Management Consultant for the last 2 years. Turns out that I'm not really interested in Management Consulting anymore. All that calls and conversations about Finance, Budgets, Goals, SWOT analysis, Key Performance Indicators and everything else is kinda boring. I didn't sign up on I.T. for this. I wanna build cool things that matter. Develop apps, sites and games to keep people entertained. But I have no development experience. I have academic knowledge and some free courses experience building simple aplications using C, C++ or Java and the internet trio (HTML, CSS and Javascript). But never build something real or something from the scratch. I have plans to become a better programmer and leave the country in a couple of years and to do that I need experience and an impressive resumé. Anyway. All this history just to ask if you have a project, or know someone who has, and need programmers to help you. I need to build my portfolio, and you probably need cheap labour. So I can do it for free right now. You just have to have a little more patience since I'll need more time getting to know the tools and patterns as I'm building my way to the top. I'm posting in development forums and social networks too. And I really appreciate if anyone can help me. I can contribute via web and we can create a schedule for me to send the updates. Something like that. All I'm asking is a chance. Help this man go for his dream if you can.
  18. Spent 3 weeks in Europe. Started with a week in London, then spent another week in Paris. After that I went to Italy and explored Florence, Venice and Rome. Got so many friends, and visited amazing places. Saw a lot of nice stuff and got more confident in doing all of this. Now I'm back to Brazil and I can't imagine going back to the routine.
  19. Canada is a pretty chill place to live. If you wind up in Alberta, both myself and KZ are around there (I'm central and he is southern) Oh, Thats great. I'm having a hard time deciding between Toronto and Vancouver. Since they are the main destinations for immigrants I use to hear a lot about this cities. Haven't gathered information about Alberta yet. Any recomendations? Gave up on Quebec since I don't speak French. (omelette du fromage?)
  20. It's been a while since I come back here. It's good to see that you guys kept the forum alive during all this years. I now have a Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems. I'm currently working in Management Consulting and... hating it. I miss the technical stuff and get bored in reunions and calls talking about budgets, goals and reports. I didn't sign in I.T. for this. I want to build cool stuff. I'm studying to try the IELTS or TOEFL exam and apply for some jobs abroad (Canada, here I go). And finally, my vacations starts in April and I'll be doing an Eurotrip to London, Paris, Venice, Florence and Rome.
  21. I graduate in the next week (finally). I'm also back to the boards. Missed you guys. =D
  22. Bad quality. Sorry... But, anyway here it is. =D Viva o Brasil! \o/
  23. Great Teacher Onizuka. Started to watch it 2 years ago. But couldn't finish it. Now I got the chance, and I'm loving it. Pretty good, I strongly recommend to anyone.
  24. Just pre-order my copy from e-Starland. This is my first international purchase, so I'm kind nervous. It will take around 15 days to deliver the game here in Brazil. So I think I'll only get my badge in the end of the month. The biggest problem will be indeed have to wait until the end of the month to get my hands on it.
  25. I used to love III and have it as my favorite DQ game. But now I finished DQ IV and started to play DQ V in my Nintendo DS. And I must say that V is pretty much better. The history development, the characters, the monster recruit system and the soundtrack is awesome. I just can't get enough of it. So, for now I stay with the V.
