  1. Bit late, but better late then never... Yeah, I love MGA. I've played it through before and it's definitely one of the most interesting mix of games I've ever played. It certainly isn't MGS, but it is great in its own right.
  2. OK, the big post-summer update, in case anyone cares. I've finished the following this summer: Daxter ICO The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker Lego Star Wars Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence Resident Evil 4 Shadow of the Colossus Shenmue Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth Currently, I'm flip flopping between Baten Kaitos, Metal Gear Acid, and Knights of the Old Republic.
  3. I finished Valkyrie Profile, but the ending kind of sucked because I got the B ending. Next time I go through it I'm going to need to get A ending, to see the REAL ending... I also played through Shadow of the Colossus again, and I still love it. I'm thinking of replaying ICO again (it's only like 6 - 7 hours...) just for the heck of it now. Anyway, I've gotten back into playing MGS3: Subsistence. I want to play the whole thing from beginning to end like I did with MGS: Twin Snakes and MGS2 not too long ago. Then I'll see if I can force myself through MG1 and 2 on my Persistence disc, just because I need to play the whole thing. The... ugh the graphics are just so sh*t ass it's hard to do it.
  4. Yesterday, I played about 4 hours of Shadow of the Colossus (second time through), and today I'm going to finish this run through. I love this game. I'm probably currently on and off also playing like 20 or 30 other games, most of which downloaded. Damn you bittorrent, damn you modded xbox, damn you 1.50 PSP, damn you lol-didn't-even-need-to-mod-anything Dreamcast, and damn you to hell PS2 with independence expoit + 12 GB HDD + self made flip top.
  5. I bought Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth the other day and I'm simply absorbed. I'm going to have to finish it before I play anything else. I can't recommend this game enough to anyone that has a PSP, or if you can find a copy of it for PS1. After I'm done with it, I'm going to get back into playing Paper Mario, Lego Star Wars, and Tales of Eternia (again for PSP), and then after that I'll be playing RE4, KOTOR2, and Grandia 2. Ugh, and I also have an urge to play and finally beat Chrono Cross (been putting it off for a while) so that's all going to have to be done before the summer's out.
  6. I finished Wind Waker last night, and I still think it's a great game. I also finished Daxter last night, and I'm working on finishing off Viewtiful Joe 2 (which I haven't played in 2 or 3 weeks). After that I'll try to put an end to Ratchet and Clank 3, and then get back on track with Resident Evil 4.
  7. Well, I already downloaded and used 4 CDs for the Dreamcast version, and I can't find a download for the XBox version. Still, it's only like $15 CDN used if I ever wanted to get it for Xbox...
  8. Well I'm playing a ton of games at once right now, so if it sounds like I'm listing off my entire library of games just bear with me. Dreamcast: Grandia 2 - I'm in Roans kingdom for the first time. This is my 3rd time through this game. Shenmue 2 - About 3 hours in. It's hard to play without voice acting like in the first GCN: Resident Evil 4 - I'm in the castle, and I think I'm nearing rescuing Ashley but can't be sure. Tales of Symphonia - 3 or 4 hours in Zelda: Ocarina of Time Master Quest - Inside Jabu Jabu's Belly Zelda: Wind Waker - Just about to fight Gannon as soon as I do one more puzzle. PS2: Devil May Cry 3 - This game is so hard, I think I'm on mission 4 or 5 but I'm slowly working through it ICO - I'm just putting this here since I beat it last night and it was amazing Zone of the Enders 2 - Just started this one yesterday, lots of fun PSP: Daxter - One more mission and I'm done Tales of Eternia - About an hour in, started 2 days ago Untold Legends - At least 2 hours in, started 2 days ago XBox: Fable - Maybe about 45 minutes in, just started 2 days ago Star Wars: KOTOR 2 - I've been playing this all day. I'm up to 9 hours. Great game, I need to get the first. And you thought I was kidding when I said a lot... Yeah I am playing all of these regularly, at least every 2 or 3 days.
  9. I'm playing Dragon Quest 8, and I just got to the first town with a ferry. Anyone else there's a woman there practically identical looking to Maribel selling herbs?
  10. I'm currently replaying both Dragon Quest V and Half-Life. I'm just about to go get the Mirror of Ra in DQ5 and am going through the trolly system in Half-Life.
  11. The first time you played on Easy, though. Easy is very easy. I usually just assume first playthroughs are on Normal in most games. As for the 5 hour game, did you skip through all the cutscenes or something?
  12. On "if" you can beat MGS2? It really depends on your level of difficulty, but it's not impossible even on Extreme. If you mean "when", it'll probably be 10 - 12 hours if you've played it before, maybe 14 - 16 if you haven't. And for reference, I've played MGS2 at least... 6 times through.
  13. Yeah, I've also not playing many games lately. I did beat a few games that were lingering around the last bit for a while a few days back, and I played maybe an hour or two of Gran Turismo 3, but that's about it this week. I've mostly been reading. I can't seem to put down this "A Song of Ice and Fire" series. It's really quite good, though once I'm done the third book I'll have to wait for October or November for the 4th one. <_<
  14. I didn't know about the tower one, but I could swear the haunted mansion came before the cave. They were both steming from the same area, but the mansion was closer to the beginning, no? I never actually beat it, but I remember a lot of people saying they spent over or near a hundred hours on FFT just beating the game, then like an additional 100 doing other stuff. Anyway, I'm trying to play Front Mission 4 (borrowed from a friend) exclisively right now, and I'm... some 13 or 14 hours in after a little over a day.
  15. First time I beat Grandia: 60 hours with both bonus dungeons. Second time I beat Grandia: 45 with one bonus dungeon. The second dungeon was too long, but the game seriously isn't that long, especially when you know what's coming next. I also found that I didn't have to really specifically "train" per se at all, but rather just fight every monster I saw in the game (which brought me high enough to get nearly every spell, minus the ones that required like 99 Fire, 99 Wind, etc.). By contrast, first time through DQ7: 110 hours pre bonus, 135 after the boni dungeions. Second time, sqweeked in a little over 90 without any bonus, and then didn't play the bonus because... they weren't wourth it. This game definitly required me to train specifically, especially the first time through since I got lazy and had to go to slime island a few times, or stay in the Dharma region extra long (losing Keifer really hurt me). The second time I did fair chunks of training with every new area, especially at the beginning.
