Hey, fam! I finally join many of you who have attempted to finish DW/DQ 2... and the few of you who have completed it! It's an honor to share the YouTube link below for video proof. https://youtu.be/6RZy5dTMBFs Also, I wrote a journal of my solo journey. Kinda my thing to do! It may help others who want to complete the game solo too. https://supersommerville.wordpress.com/2021/01/25/dragon-warrior-ii-nes-solo-challenge/ I had to get another WordPress account, some carrying over everything I wrote to the new account and updating my links is work.5 points

new dump! i'll add captions along with a title to spice the read a little! DQotS Gadabout Doodle doodle of my DQotS character reaffirming and proud of being a gadabout main. People around love the drops, and it's fun to make your battles luck based. (Based off the lovely DQIII manual art) Think of Thy Platty Children This one is an inside joke within the Den's discord, because for context Bluestar encou5 points

Hello, I'm Branny and I've been lurking this forum for many years! I've finally decided to come out of the shadows after listening to the slime time podcast. I've been a Dragon Quest/Warrior fan since 98 and have always been a hardcore RPG fanboy! I started the series with the Moneters 2 and then with DQ7! Glad to finally join the forum and get to know everyone!4 points

A little preview for a piece I'm currently working on! Not yet finished though, Angelo and the background especially still look pretty rough, and I intend on adding Dhoulmagus as well!4 points

Sorry for reviving a dead post but I recently started playing the 3DS version of 8. I'm just after the part where you help the mourning king. Found that amazing area that spawns Metal slimes and been using the camera refresh to grind those out. I went with a basic build for my team, swords/Courage for Hero, Axe/Fist on Yangus, Whips/Wands on Jessica and Bows and swords on Angelo. Anyone playing this again or for the first time in 2021? I'm going to bump this because it's become necessary again, but not in the exact same context. This shouldn't have to be said, but all of this also applies to the Discord server. I know there are multiple, but some seem to consider the one I made years ago to be the "Official Dragon Den Team Discord." (Edit: Just to add, the Discord server has no official affiliation with the team. We're all just a part of it, but I digress.) It's blown up a lot over the past few months (nearly 250 people!) and you guys are awesome for making that happen. Now we have some not-so-awesome people bring3 points

Good work beating it at all! I beat DW1 and 3 several times on the GB/C ports, but I never beat #2. Until I saw your video, I didn't really think it was possible to beat it solo. Gratz!3 points

I felt these episodes were done quite well. I was glad that the pacing was a little faster (covering 4 chapters worth of content) in episode 20, so we could get the aftermath of the battle. The soundtrack was also on point these episodes as well. Talking about the soundtrack, with the CD going on sale next month the composer has been showing off a few of his tracks on Youtube lately. It should also be mentioned that the Dai Suki TV Youtube series has changed from being a once monthly live stream to a weekly per-recorded video put out right after an episode of th3 points

@Bluestar joins as a guest host to interview my Nintendo World/NY DQIX Tag Mode Tuesday co-op friend, @RPG Wizard! https://anchor.fm/dqslimetime/episodes/Episode-032---RPG-Wizard--DQIX-Multiplayer-eq57e8 Here's the original Dragon's Den Topic for Tag Mode Tuesday's group. Things I forgot to mention on the podcast: Dekablue wanted me to point out that the NYC staff at NintendoNY were always surprised how long we kept Tag Mode Tuesday going as a fan event. It actually started out as an official Nintendo World event at Rockefeller Center, before it eventually became a fan-ru3 points

Thank you! She's definitely very eighties, one of the reasons I love her design so much! I also drew Angelo today! I remember not liking him very much on my first playthrough, but going through his party chat dialogue has really improved my opinion of him. I love his constant sarcastic quips.3 points

As promised, I've got a few screenshots and bits of information to share before the first early release: Main Menu Story Mode Dungeon Text Only a couple of days to go until the release. It will be available on the 6th March 2021 via the Mystery Dungeon Wiki discord: https://t.co/HoXVtaZsWl?amp=12 points

Well, it'll be a couple days before@YangustheLegendaryBandit gets his copy, but we're doing a little staggered start here. I gave it a go this weekend as I'm going on a podcast Wednesday explicitly to talk up this game as the host is NOT a fan and what better way to celebrate their huge milestone episode but to talk about games they don't enjoy. [emoji1787] Suffice to say, so far this is everything I've wanted out of a JRPG since I played Ni no Kuni 2 in the fall. Really loving it. I think this is going to be a lot like Dragon Quest XI, it's not like it does anything super different or has a2 points

I have made a lot of progress in Dark Souls 2. I am at the final boss, but I decided to tackle the DLC first. I am working on the Crown of the Sunken King and I really like it so far. If only all the areas in Dark Souls 2 was this good. I am using a dual wield Greatsword build. Power stance in this game is super fun. Love the damage output. If this game is going to gimp parries that much, I might as well go with it. Honestly, power stance is the best thing about Dark Souls 2. I just wish it wasn't exclusive to this game.2 points

It happens! I didn't get around to actually putting time into Dragon Quest Builders until a month before Builders 2 came out. Sometimes we need a good reminder of how great DQ is and to get off our butts and play it already! I'm still waiting on that for 11S, but I know it'll happen some day!2 points

Just some random fanart in progress, i still need to work on them I'm not the greatest artist around but sometimes drawing does help my mentality was going to post them on the Discord server before but felt nah no one would really want to see these so i saw the art section and thought i'd make my own art thread so it's optional for people to see my work? or more or less some random art2 points

I posted a chart I made for DWM2 previously and got some requests to make one for the first game too (I've also updated the DWM2 chart too). Do let me know if you spot any errors. For anyone like me that dislikes shuffling through .txt guides when playing these games, hopefully these will brighten things up a tad! I had no idea that the personality names were almost completely different between the two games either; makes it a tad confusing jumping from one to the other. Woodus - Since you asked before, I'd be happy to let you host these on the Den should you wish! https://2 points

My buddy is attempting a single sitting run of DWM2 right now. www.twitch.tv/thechuggernauts Anyone have any tips to shave off a few hours? I think right now the plan was to go straight for metal slimes and tank through the game as quick as possible. Any tips? Looking like it'll be a 20+ hour run.2 points

Plus, you can't tell me that settling in to a new game an wandering the opening encounterless dungeon with the nice dungeon music isn't totally a chill evening kind of thing. I love doing this every time, and it got taken away from me in the 3DS version.2 points

Gonna have to give this game a shake when it releases. I love Mystery Dungeon games, but the only ones I've played is the original one, the PS1 version we got here, and Adventure Bar Story on the 3DS.2 points

Started playing Guacamelee 2 this morning. The soundtrack and visual for this game are so what I love. I love good vibrant colors in games. The humor is super well done too. Most lines get a chuckle out of me. I'm really looking forward to all the references the game will throw at me. Just in the starting area there was nearly half a dozen of them that I recognized. and some that I didn't.2 points

The thing about YouTube (or self help videos rather than text and images) that irritates me is you can't CTRL-F a video and search for words. I don't want hear about this guys life story to find out where the f-ing screws to take the headlight out of my car are2 points

When I do get around to playing it, I will be playing the PS1 version myself. I like playing it at my little CRT station I have set-up. Grandia 1 has been a blast that way so far.2 points

I'm happy with the forums and do not wish to replace it with Discord/etc. This is the best online community I've ever seen, let alone been a part of. That said, I don't feel the Den needs a revival. It's not dead. Quiet, yes, but that's part of what makes the Den so special. There is relatively little drama here.2 points

Festivale was a fun time yesterday when I played the game after work. Managed to get a lot of the Festivale related items in various colors, and decorated my island accordingly. It’s all very colorful now haha. I enjoy that Festivale is essentially a combination of Mardi Gra and Carnival. And that music that played during the celebration was nice. Seeing all your villagers dance along, throw confetti and help you trade for other feathers was fun. I was able to get 3 of the Festivale Floats, so if anyone needs one just let me know.2 points

I've gone through all of the items I'd already translated and followed that format, I'd compromised so much in some places but now it looks so much cleaner. I'm hoping to have news about an early-access demo before too much longer. mobdro Regards, 9xmovies2 points

But GBA plays GBC. What'd you get modded for GBA? I know. I’m a bit of a collector and looking for an excuse to add a GBC. I got a custom color scheme and backlit screen:2 points

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08397JQZG?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share I used this exact replacement to fix my joycon. It's very easy, took less than 10 minutes start to finish. If you don't have the tools cheap kits are available on Amazon. Nothing wrong with having backups.2 points

Picked up Octopath Traveler again since I can play it handheld mode again without controller issues. Been dealing with drift on my left joy con so I’ve geared away from menu based games because the drift can totally screw up command inputs. Long story short, got a new joy con with a proper d-pad thanks to Platty, and I’m happy I can play in handheld mode comfortably again. Anyway, I’ve completed Alfyn and Olberic’s Chapter 3. I feel bad for poor Alfyn since he’s had to learn the hard way about who he should and shouldn’t trust, while I was glad to see Olberic found some closure to his tro2 points

Been a while since the last post. Figured I'd go ahead with a couple updates: -Guide has resumed. I'm working on incorporating .mp4 files to make it a lot easier to view all a character's attributes. -Progress on DQH2 for Switch has resumed. Am currently headed towards the battle at the Great Divide. Been just power leveling my crew, and waiting for my computer to return from repairs. Can't really understand a lot of hiragana and katakana, so trying to pick skills for my characters has been impossible without the Steam version to refer to. -Honestly, I really don't like the perf2 points
