    Ending suck x100 now with that last spoiler. I hadn't heard that part yet. The day after I started the online petition for it, I read the spoilers and it immediately made me want to pull the plug. Without saying it here for all to see, yeah, that really sucks. It cheapens the whole Dragon Questness of the movie. If that's the entire message and plot, basically you just screwed with the most cinematical, cohesive, lovely story just to prove a point & send a message. If that's the point, do it via some other proprietary series. Bleh, sucks they licensed out the name for that.

    Forward There was a group of Japanese screeners who were so horrified by the ending, they leaked it. Ever since reading it, it's just cemented my disdain for the movie. They also ignored one little nugget as well, though probably because not as many Japanese gamers would take an issue with it, due to social stigma and constant repetition of it:

    Both of these ideas are strange choices, particularly for the first DQ feature film, particularly when riding high on its high-fantasy legacy at the moment. DQ5 has reentered top ten sales figures in Japan in the wake of this film release. These two choices feel, to me, like pulling punches and not completely trusting the audience to love Dragon Quest simply and purely for being Dragon Quest. Personally, I think that’s someone’s miscalculation, and I hope they don’t do it again. Of course, I don’t actually know the reasoning and I haven’t seen it for myself, but that’s my hot take. Also, @Plattym3 and @ignasia, I’d say you’re both right. Consoles definitely went through a decline. I have no statistics and am not interested in the research, so everything I say is based on my lived experience, my friends, and the kids and adults I’ve taught: PS2 dominance was, I think, a point of pride to Japanese gamers. There was a real love and respect for Sony, like with Nintendo and Sega before them. Sega had faded, and it took Nintendo a while to establish that “old Nintendo feeling” with the DS/3DS. Xbox never really took off here (yes, understatement), but awareness of the console wars and trends toward handheld took some luster off PS3, I think. PS4 seems to have more momentum, in part I imagine because 3DS era has been in slowdown for a long time. And then there’s Switch. Switch is why I think you’re both right. I believe before Switch Japan was actually headed for death of consoles. Japanese gamers and the casual public have fully embraced mobile. Many still loved their 3DS, but I stopped seeing them out and about probably…three(?) years ago? Switch has not only filled that gap (though I basically never actually see people playing it in public), but (I feel) reinvigorated the entire industry. Switch feels like Famicom-era gaming. It had a freshness and fun vibe that transcends even the 3DS, I think. I hope they get on integrating 3DS-level social features and UI before the momentum fades! Also… everybody has Switch. I teach kids now, and literally all of them have it. I know several adults who have it or want it. Switch has a feel good factor that is definitely revitalizing interest and somehow making public gaming okay again, rather than public shaming. I think there may be more Switch playing on trains and in public again as the Lite and better-battery Switches release this autumn. I hope so. That’s the real test. I used to never get on a train and not see people on their 3DS/2DS/DS, with occasional Vita and PSP. It’s still all phones on the trains at the moment, but I do think that may be Switching.😉

    Whilst it's nice that Dragon Quest gets more exposure in the West due to Super Smash Bros Ultimate, there's still a long way to go before Dragon Quest becomes mainstream in the West.

    If the Switch version weren't around the corner then I would say that they're allowed to spoil whatever they wish...its been a year, etc. But you're right, a lot of people have been holding off for this version. They should have had a spoiler section at the end of the podcast. That said, the DQ community is pretty insular, and I feel like Puff Puff Hour has been more of a "retrospective" look at the series. They're used to reviewing decades-old games...it's not every year we get a new DQ game. If you're new to the series then spoilers will abound for many of the games in DQ communities. Though I agree that, even though we're almost a year in since release, XI should be treated differently since the Definitive Edition has yet to be released. Sent from my LG-H871 using Tapatalk

    Makes sense. Tomoko and I were thinking of buying up a bunch of $20 Kubota sake in Japan that sells for $100 a bottle in the US, but ultimately we ran into that issue as well. We would be bootleggers if we did that.

    Finally getting around to playing Dragon Quest Heroes. About 3 hours in. So far? Enjoyable.

    I got absolutely destroyed. I survived the pools but ended up getting knocked out by two really good players. One of the players that knocked me out is room mates with one of the best Smash players in the state. I didn't stand a chance lol On the bright side, he did compliment me for my King K. Rool play. So at least I had that going for me.

    Ogden! Love those games! This was my progress from like 3 days ago because I find I’m more likely to keep playing if I don’t post that I’m playing something until I’m decently deep into the game. I’m at level 20, equipped with all the best weapons currently available, and defeated the third boss. I like how speedy the fights are, makes level and money grinding a quick affair. It’s a good pastiche of Dragon Quest IV. I’d love to see their take on V.

    I’m happy to say that disc one sounds great from the soundtrack. I was afraid it was going to be damaged/scratch in my iTunes library when it played because it looked like there were some scuffs on the disc. Everything checked out for the soundtrack being official and I figured it would be fine, but still, glad all the music plays ok on disc 1. I like how they handled the music with different renditions on the race tracks. For example, on the Cloudtop Cruise track, it plays the regular version twice and then, in a third loop, you wind up hearing the rock version that plays in the storm cloud area of the track. Another example is the Music Park track, where on loop two it mixes in the piano, xylophone, marimba, and timpani drum sections at different parts. It’s really cool they did that.

    III doesn't have the monster animations, which prevents it from being the definitive version. It's based off of an old phone port that couldn't handle it then, but since the animations were present in the GBC version, for them to not have gone back and added in those sprites is cheap and lazy.

    There are 3 older episodes of Slime Time around here on the Den too. Two predate DQX and one is a year later. We're hopefully reviving the name brand for good!

    Damn that’s a funny way to end it. I’m morbidly curious to see how it played out. It seems so jarring. Also, what is the context to Iggy’s spoiler? The way it’s phrased, it sounds like they just slapped a message on the screen and ended the movie.

    Yeah, I never knew about what’s in the spoiler tag Iggy mentioned above, and frankly after reading that I may take back what I said about wanting to see the movie. Like really, THAT’S how your going to end a video game related movie? That’s #$*!ing stupid. I can’t believe they went with DQ5 now as the inspiration/base of the film. 5 isn’t my absolute favorite DQ game, but it’s one that’s in my top 5 and has a pretty great and emotional story. I’m very confused by the choices they made now, and am feeling pretty mixed more than I was before on whether I want to see it or not. I mean, the DQ fan in me wants to see how the series/game is represented on the big screen, but...

    Got a review copy of the new Switch title, SteamWorld Quest. I absolutely loved it. Awesome battle system and the characters all had some serious issues to deal with under the sometimes silly & formulaic story. It was visually beautiful and just a really fun game I couldn't put down.     I dreamtrain have a dream. There's all sorts of mods out there rebalancing abilities and difficulty out there, such as FFT, the reloaded patches for Golden Sun 1 and 2, and there's one out there for DQV that lets you recruit more monsters, I'd love to one day see the same for Dragon Quest 6 and my objective here would be to see what the community that actually likes this game thinks, pool ideas and see how much interest there is in this happening, maybe we could crowdsource this eventually. First off something that would kick up the game as if you were playing under the Stronger Monsters Draconian Quest where major bosses can get up to 3 turns, are a bit more likely to use desperate attacks and get around 20% increase in stats (Exact value not confirmed), and grant them some new skills so they normally wouldn't have to keep you on your toes. Since you don't have any skills in the first third before Dharma/Alltrades, perhaps include a soft buff (not in stats, but get extra options for damage and mitigation) so you don't feel like you're doing Rhone with only boring plain auto attacks, I haven't really thought through this part of the game yet, let me know your thoughts if you disagree and would actually like it that way for that portion of the game. Secondly, a rebalance of the jobs so that everything feels useful and you feel a bit more encouraged to try the other classes and have more options to deal damage aside Focus Strength/Knuckle Sandwich on bosses (if its possible to tweak the resistances table for this), the point of a difficulty increase is not so that for bosses you have no choice but to do a turtle formation on bosses just doing 80 damage total each turn while you try to survive. I'm really against difficulty by inconveniencing, I think that's boring, if I want to hit like a wet noodle I'll turn to II or V, I really feel you should feel strong while fighting back the stronger monsters, and I feel XI achieved that with the draconian quests: in some turns you had to regroup because of the onslaught of damage and conditions, but when you could deal damage it was meaningful because of the selection of options you have, thats what I would like to achieve with a difficulty mod. At the same time I would recommend removing the free pass you get with just Boulder Tossing everything with gladiators at no cost. Also, as I'm not sure how much is feasible to edit the existing game, the scope would lie in using the existing abilities available in VI, but if it was possible to code in a few custom-mades that behaves like skills from IX and XI to grant diversity to the options available that would be great (in which case it would be worth to grant these new skills to enemies also so they hit keep you on your toes). Another thing I think would be worth editing, is the Whack resistance many abilities have that essentially makes them useless in most scenarios. I'll start with what I think is the class that requires the most rework: Ranger and its sub-classes, this path offers a lot of out of battle utility that I think would require further editing of the game out of combat so you feel they have an actual impact, but more on that later. The first thing this class needs is a lower battle requirement to unlock, lowered from a total of 435 down to 315 (In comparison the much stronger Gladiator requires 350 between Warrior and Martial Artist, and Sage needs 340 between Mage and Priest), this alone makes it somewhat more competitive with the other classes for it to be a path for Hero, some tweaks would also be added so that it's not an absolute chore to progress this class and the end result of this class path is to be a jack of all trades being a secondary damage dealer in comparison to the Gladiator and being a decent backup healer second to the Sage (mirroring the healing support Ranger gets in IX). Thief Monster Master Merchant Ranger So that is it for now, really open for suggestions so long as they make sense, enhance the gameplay in a fair way and aren't made up skills/classes that don't exist outside the world of Dragon Quest.

    The other day on the DataHoarder subreddit, somebody posted an archive of around 90 GB of video game commercials dating backing to the 80s through to modern consoles. I looked through them and pulled out only the DQ ads as I thought someone here might want them. They aren't all very good quality, many of them having been captured from VHS and then compressed digitally, but for many of them I imagine they're the only copies in existence. There are Japanese as well as international commercials. Many of them, like some of the EU DQIX commercials I had never seen before.     Unfortunately, many people who bought Dragon Quest XI on the PlayStation 4 and/or PC are very angry at Square Enix (and presumably Nintendo as well) since the new features that Dragon Quest XI S is getting (switching between 3D and 2D mode, switching between English and Japanese dub, etc.) is likely to be exclusive to the Nintendo Switch version and may not come over to the PlayStation 4 and/or the PC version. And many people are demanding that Square Enix put a DLC patch (even it requires payment) that brings the new features of Dragon Quest XI S to the PlayStation 4 and/or the PC version; I'm guessing that many people would want that DLC patch to be released on the day Dragon Quest XI S is released.

    I won't post it as a spoiler, but just note that at some point in (Woodus is correct) Act 3 where those same items taken in that particular snapshot are copied from Act 1. So essentially, you're playing along in Act 3, and after certain very particular events, quite a few people have found certain items that were one-time are suddenly doubled. The most notable one being Belle's Bow, which almost everyone would have on Jade in Act 1. This led to discovering that the game takes a snapshot of all items at that certain point in Act 1, and without spoiling things, this event is called-back during a critical event in Act 3, and in the process of this those same snapshotted items are carried over again into the present day of the game, and end up in your inventory. I don't know the details of the relationship or significance of these events or what unfolds or how it unfolds, so anyone who does don't talk to me like I do. I haven't spoiled that aspect for myself, but it's gameplay related so I had to know and pursue the research.

    @Woodus You might want to add a page for this data I'm about to impart: In Act 1, the moment the orbs are shown to Benedictus in Arboria allowing access to the First Forest, the game makes a copy of the full inventories of Erik / Veronica / Serena / Sylvando / Rab / Jade. Not the Luminary, just the other party members. This includes equipped items. At some point in Act 3, all of the equipment and items from those party members from that unique snapshot in Act 1 are copied over in an event that takes place. So all the items and equipment from that moment, upon giving all of the orbs to Benedictus in Arboria, are copied over and end up in your inventory. Now, because of this, there are certain 1-time only or limited supply equipment that can be copied over to allow doubles of, and certain items that probably should be copied over. Use the Campsite in the Heliodor region, get Erik + Hero to Pep State (easier early game, but the steal rate will be much easier), then save, and save scum Itemized Kill until successful (it's easier if you want for Serena + Veronica as you'll have one Robber Glove, and can more easily steal a second from the Robber Rabbits around Gallopolis, but still very doable here). Once a single Bunny Tail is procured, equip it, then just kill indiscriminately and with each new Bunny Tail, equip them to speed up the process. It isn't hard to get 8x with just Erik. Takes about 20 minutes maximum. If you wait until 2x Robber Gloves, it will probably be around 10 minutes...assuming Erik + MC are in the Pep State. It's easier to get them there if both Veronica and Serena are in the Pep state as well (rate of Pep is MUCH higher with just Erik + Hero alone, but overall it's just easier to farm later on). I do recommend getting at least 4x while you have just the Hero + Erik though. Do note that Itemized Kill requires the Hero learning Flame Slash, and Erik learning Half-Inch. Note, you do not have to upgrade any Bunny Tail, they give the same +1% chest drop rate regardless of upgrade level. Make sure everyone has the following things equipped before farming: Uniforme de l'Academie (all three women), and Bunny Tails in both slots on everyone. Best if the rotation is men only, keeping all three women in the active party at all times. Seed of Strength -> early hunting around the Gallopolis Southern Campsite, with 4x potential battles immediately on the way to Gallopolis, and 6x potential on the way to the Gondolia Checkpoint. An alternative is the SW-most island. Seed of Deftness -> Sniflheim region, lower section of the map, between the two spawning locations down in that oval shaped area of 2x and 3x Chillanodon Seed of Agility -> Around the ruins of houses just near the Ruins of Dundrasil, the Southernmost three houses especially, but anywhere in that Southern section. Seed of Magic -> Abuse the healing statue in The Other Side, and there are three platforms with at least two Hypothermions, probably the worst seed to farm for, and the one most easy to overlevel the party Seed of Life -> The Other Side, first area, or The Champs Sauvage at night, lower section near Phnom Nonh. Seed of Sorcery/Therapeusis -> Royal Library, floors 2, 3, and 4. Just go to town. Do realize that having only 1 monster in battle does seem to negatively impact chances, so Therapeusis will be easier to farm than Sorcery at this time.

    Hopefully it doesn't have to come to that, but a lot of people are having far more problems with SE with the CE codes than I did for Amazon, and Gamestop purchasers are reporting for GS. Amazon took some time, but after four contacts they sent me the necessary codes. A few are still waiting though. Gamestop seems to be the same, but SE seems to be universally difficult. Apparently the only non issue is Steam, then PSN took a few days for some people. My biggest issue is that I live in New Mexico. Amazon's warehouse with my copy is in a suburb of Phoenix. There's a direct route from Phoenix to Albuquerque where I now live. Rather than send it there (and my potentially getting a copy on the 4th or 5th, as it was initially sent out on the 3rd), they flew it to Kansas City, Missouri. It's been sitting in Kansas City since Tuesday. No movement at all. One person on GameFAQs who works for Amazon and is a developer for their transport logic scripts attempted to explain to me how this is actually saving Amazon money and not Amazon simply assuring that 5~8 business days will actually be within 5~8 business days, and this is somehow far more cost effective for transport by some metric I haven't enough knowledge to see and understand without being part of his team. Can't explain why because that breaks protocol and whatever confidentiality agreements he signed, but c'mon, that's utter horsecrap. This is way more costly for them given major distribution routes directly from Phoenix and Albuquerque, as I've gotten quite a few packages from the same warehouses as that's the closest to me. Sometimes my packages get sent right away, but never games. Never ever games. Calling does nothing, but maybe I might take your post as a bit of advice, as talking to Indians in India to get service in the US is insulting.

    Hi, everyone! Here's the Dragon Quest X Online Config Executable translated to English. I actually came up with this project for personal use but the more progress I've made during the process, I really felt like this is something I should share. The DOWNLOAD LINK and INSTRUCTIONS come after my RAMBLINGS below: First and foremost, I know that there's a perfectly good reason to be suspicious with this, I'll mention below the programs needed if ever you decide to create your own translation instead of downloading and using the ones I worked on. I'm actually surprised when Woodus pinned this almost as soon as I posted it! I guess that he already ran it through different anti-virus programs and made sure this isn't a Mimic. Even though I might sound a lot more suspicious by saying so (because I might appear persuasive), I'm still going ahead and inform you that this is virus/malware-free and it definitely doesn't have a built-in key logger of sorts. I don't have any knowledge whatsoever about developing viruses, etc. I've scanned it with a free version of Avast and Malware Bytes before uploading and scanned the Mediafire download as well just to make sure. It's still clean! I'm just another DQ fan who simply has good Googling skills. All I did was hex edit certain files in the executable where the Japanese texts are stored and recompiled it. How tos for hex editing isn't that too hard to Google. If ever you don't trust Mediafire (I read what was probably a conspiracy theory about Mediafire tweaking unprotected files), please let me know of a better alternative to upload it to. I've been studying Japanese almost daily for more than 6 months now. I just started Intermediate Japanese grammar last month but I've put it on hold because I no longer have lots of free time. My Japanese is still that of a Kindergarten student though! I worked on this project around the last week of December until the first week of January (about 2 weeks), losing sleep over it. At first I thought that undertaking this project wouldn't be that hard because the things needed to be translated aren't that many judging by the things we can see in the Config at first glance. There were times that I felt like pulling my hair but in the end, I think it's all worth it! I tried translating all the Japanese texts I could find in the executable and I believe I've translated about 90 - 95%. There are some that I couldn't find in the menus itself. I guess those text only come up as prompts that pop up on a particular occasion (errors, etc.) and some texts for debugging, which I mostly left alone. I'd really appreciate your feedback! Commments, questions and suggestions are more than welcome! And if you could point out typos (other than the one you can see in the screenshot above. Lol!), grammatical mistakes (English isn't my native language), please let me know about it here and I'll work on it as soon as I have lots of free time again. In most cases, I wasn't/am not able to fit grammatically correct descriptions in the Tool Tips so they end up sounding like Engrish. If you need clarifications about the options, feel free to ask it here. See NOTES section below for more details about the way I translated stuff. ========================================================================================================= HOW I DID IT: Thanks to Google for leading me to the following two main tools necessary for translating it: - Resource Hacker which lets me view, extract and replace most of the contents of an executable file (DQXConfig.exe). http://www.angusj.com/resourcehacker/ * Just open DQXConfig.exe with it. *The Japanese options we see in the Config can be found in the files in the first folder "ETP"; 193:1041 and 247:1041. *Just Right-Click each file and choose "Save "." resource..." then choose your preferred location to save it in. I chose to name it using the same numbers to help me remember what file I'm working on and it'd be less confusing to recompile it. *You then just need to open those files in the hex editor below. No other hex editor can display the Japanese characters correctly. - wxMEdit, a hex editor, and probably the only one that lets us view the Japanese characters in certain files in the executable. When you open either file (193:1041 or 247:1041) from the ETP folder as instructed above, all Japanese text will show up as garbled symbols and letters. To display the Japanese text correctly, simply click View > Encoding > Unicode > [uTF-8] Unicode 8 bit https://wxmedit.github.io/ I also shouldn't forget to mention the following as well; - GIMP for editing a couple of images with Japanese texts on it. - Capture2Text, a small "OCR" application that lets me capture Japanese texts in simple fonts and... - Free Online OCR (www.newocr.com) for Japanese texts in different fonts found in images. - Google Translate, Bing Translator, and Babylon for the translation. *Google Translate offered the translations that makes sense most of the time more than Bing Translator did. ​Babylon was just a last resort when the first two could only offer unintelligible translations though it more crappy translations than the first two did. - Jisho.org, to help me make sure about the translations and a good way to find Kanji characters that the OCR fail to accurately capture. ======================================================================================================== DOWNLOAD: http://www.mediafire.com/file/2o4c3f1dfxbbfam/Dragon_Quest_X_Online_Config_-_Translated.rar ======================================================================================================== INSTRUCTIONS: I'm not supposed to release it today because I still have some tests to do but I just read earlier in the Questions and Answers topic that someone's friend is having a bit of trouble about the Chat Settings so I felt like I should share this today to help out. - Go to where the game files are installed ( I used a custom installation directory for mine but I think the default is; C:\User\Games\SquareEnix\DRAGON QUEST X\ ) There should be two folders in the DRAGON QUEST X folder: Boot and Game ​- Open the Game folder and you'd see your game's original DQXConfig.exe there along with DQXGame and DQXOffline. There's no need to touch those other two files. Right-click on a blank area to make a New Folder and name it "Backup". It's better to be safe. I am not liable for any inconvenience caused by having to download and reinstall due to corrupted/missing files. - You can then either move the original DQXConfig.exe file to the Backup Folder we just made or just copy and paste it in there instead. ​ - ​Extract the edited DQXConfig file to the Game folder. If you still have the original .exe there because you chose to copy and paste a backup of it instead of moving it, simply overwrite it with the edited one when prompted. Update: If you're using an updated Avast just like I do, it might scan it first because it is an Unknown file and eventually tell you that it will submit it to their end for further testing and cracking. It might take a while. Back when I was working on it, Avast didn't have the "submit" feature yet and all it did was scan it, finds out that it's actually clean, and then launches the Config without any other hassle. *Now I am required to right-click and check the file's Properties to let it Open as Admin. I'm not sure if Avast modifies it to stop me from launching it without Admin permissions. Update 2: Avast's behavior I mentioned above only occurs if you run it from a different folder/location. If you overwrite the actual executable with it in the Game Folder, it doesn't occur. ​Additional Info: - You can actually extract it anywhere you like, the Desktop for example, but I don't think the changes you make in the Config will actually be applied to the game. Also, the Recommended Settings button won't work. It will fail and tell you to reinstall the game. - The Key Presets and the GamePad Presets will be blank if you don't extract it to the correct directory. - Saving the changes you make will make the app crash. So I guess the purpose of using this outside the correct directory is for simulation purposes only. But then, accessing some of the settings and features of the Config app will sometimes make it crash. ​ - You can't open both the edited and the original Config app at the same time. (An error along the lines of "another instance already running") - IMPORTANT: Whenever the game gets a new update, the edited DQXConfig executable will be overwritten with a new one. So far, I saw no big changes between the one I've edited and the current DQXConfig version. If I'm not mistaken, the version I've edited is about 2 - 3 updates behind but it still works with the latest updates the game received. KEEP IN MIND THAT WHENEVER THE GAME GETS AN UPDATE, always copy the update DQXConfig.exe and overwrite the one in the Backup folder you make. So this way, you'll have an updated Backup of the executable. If ever SE completely changes the game's Config app (new buttons, tabs, options, etc.) then I doubt this will work with the game anymore. Please let me know here so I could also attempt to translate it. ======================================================================================================== Notes: - Please note though that I tend to be OCD-ish at times. I left some of the Japanese words and English terms they used intact and even chose to keep some of the Japanese symbols such as "※", which will displayed as a "?" if your system's region isn't set to Japan, just to stay true to the original. Kinda like how I miss some of the original Japanese spell names, etc. Example; "Button Guides", which refer to the button icons the game uses to represent GamePad buttons in the game. But I may eventually change it if there's a demand for it. - Some of the Tool Tips might be too vague. I asked one of my Japanese Language Exchange partner and he told me that the Japanese explanations aren't that clear as well. - I decided to use the closest English words for most of the Japanese terminologies for now, such as "Direction Key", which I later found out, seemed to refer to the D-Pad on controllers instead of the ones on the keyboard. And also - ​I've also translated even the Japanese texts in all images, not just the Dragon Quest X Config Dracky banner. - About the Mouse Settings dropdown box items, they appear in a separate file and I actually translated those as well but for some inexplicable reason, it still appears in Japanese! I tried opening the .exe itself in the hex editor and I coudn't find those untranslated Japanese text anymore. I really can't find out why this is so so I just gave up on it and left it at that. It's possible that its getting those text values from someplace else (another file outside the Config executable). - There were some cases though where there's only one appropriate English word to translate it to according to the context but I couldn't fit in so I had to cut it short instead, such as "Sense" for "Sensitivity". - This is Version 1. In the second, and most likely the final version, I'll try polish the translation and resize the dialogue boxes/pop-up prompts to make the texts fit better. RAMBLINGS continued: - Google Translate seemed to have improved a lot since I last tried using it to translate Itadaki Street for the PSP (which I didn't complete after the hard drive where I had the project saved failed). Probably 2/3rds (60 - 75%) of the translations were spot on compared to Bing's translations. - I get the feeling that the translations Google Translate offered were probably "contributions" made by other users, which suggests that I'm not the first person to attempt translating the Config App. Anyway, since most of the time, I didn't have enough space to copy the exact translations, I lazily substituted some of the words with a synonym with the least number of letters just to make the words/sentences fit. If ever I decide to tackle pointer tweaking in the hex editor, I might come up with version 3 which should let me fit longer texts. ============================================================================================================ If you have any issues with it, let me know and I'll try to help you a.s.a.p. EDIT: Polished this post to make it more organized. Included a few details for those who want to translate their own DQXConfig executable.

    I visited a used game store and they had a ton of Nintendo Power magazines. Most of them were from 2000 or newer, but they had one issue, from May/June 1989, and it had a two page preview spread of Dragon Warrior for the NES. I can't remember if I included this when I found a bunch of the DW stuff before that Nintendo Power repository went down last year, but I scanned the 2-page spread for people to see, since it's been nearly a year since that anyways. I love the western spin on the art. Toriyama's style would have been just fine, but Trying to catch the D&D players for this series in the west, I understand.
