  1. I don't know if anyone cares, but Square Enix has announced that there will be a second Dragon Quest XI S stream on 27 March 2019 from 21:00 - 22:00 (JST).
  2. I know I'm double posting,  but I never expected to see this coming this soon.

Kind of sad, Reggie is one of those guys who creates memes almost everytime he opens his mouth.  I don't know if anyone else can top that.  Plus the guy actually likes Dragon Quest.  Hopefully Bowser is a fan as well.  Christ I hope so.  It's kind of sad knowing he won't show his face at anymore E3's or special directs (in the ones where he is present).  He might be slow when he speaks, but he was definitely a presence.

I'm going to miss those Reggie "no RPG" memes from way back.  That was almost as awesome as Kaz Hirai's "Giant Crab Boss from historical Japan you can flip for big damage!"

On the one hand Fils-Aime will be undoubtedly missed. On the other hand. we have a massive new influx of Bowser memes on the horizon.

  3. I wonder how people would react if Last Idea RPG turns out to be a mobile game.  I hope that's not the case.  https://twitter.com/LASTIDEA_RPG/status/1098145331638820864?s=19

The name reeks of “maybe we’ll accidentally make another Final Fantasy.”

Remember when Tokyo RPG Factory said they were going to potentially create one last game?  I get the impression this is that game.  The Last Idea being their last chance to develop something that is worth the investment.

Nevermind, I failed to see this.  So they continue onward.  Maybe SE sees them as still profiting, even if in smaller increments.  Keep going until they hit gold or something.

      So now I'm really curious.

Also, definitely Eal.  I think they were clearly aiming for that given, despite the overwhelming sales of FF15, there are a LOT of frustrated FF fans who feel the series has gone off the rails, including in Japan.

    Quest #182 - Screenshot + Saying Sport

Sylvando: "And don't let me see frowning - you're at the head of the world's premier gladness-bringing parade!" Protagonist: "Does not compute."
  5. https://nintendosoup.com/rumor-more-dragon-quest-titles-could-be-ported-to-nintendo-switch-this-year/ I'm guessing that the Dragon Quest games in question is the ports of Dragon Quest I, Dragon Quest II, and Dragon Quest III that was released in Japan on the PlayStation 4 and the Nintendo 3DS. But who knows what might be ported over?
  6. I can tell you it's the same on the Dragon Quest subreddit. There was a long post on the Dragon Quest subreddit where one person was ranting about how Square Enix is saying f#@$ you to the people who bought the PlayStation 4 and the PC versions of Dragon Quest XI by making Dragon Quest XI S exclusive to the Nintendo Switch and how that person might personally boycott Square Enix if that's the case.
  7. And to play devil's advocate, Square Enix did say that Dragon Quest XI on PlayStation 4 and PC needs to do well in order for future Dragon Quest games to be localised outside of Japan, so I don't completely blame people who bought the PlayStation 4 and the PC versions to feel upset. I'm personally OK with the exclusive features of Dragon Quest XI S being available as a DLC patch (that may require payment) for the PlayStation 4 and the PC versions, but at least a year after the release of Dragon Quest XI S.

    Dragon Quest XI Progress

I had a chance to make some good progress yesterday. I've got Hendrick and Rab in my party. And I've stopped by Phnom Nonh for the second time. And I'm now ready to go to the next dungeon.
  9. Funny enough, I've heard some people say the PlayStation 4 version felt incomplete to them once they've heard about the exclusive features coming to Dragon Quest XI S, which I personally think is a ridiculous claim.
  10. Unfortunately, many people who bought Dragon Quest XI on the PlayStation 4 and/or PC are very angry at Square Enix (and presumably Nintendo as well) since the new features that Dragon Quest XI S is getting (switching between 3D and 2D mode, switching between English and Japanese dub, etc.) is likely to be exclusive to the Nintendo Switch version and may not come over to the PlayStation 4 and/or the PC version. And many people are demanding that Square Enix put a DLC patch (even it requires payment) that brings the new features of Dragon Quest XI S to the PlayStation 4 and/or the PC version; I'm guessing that many people would want that DLC patch to be released on the day Dragon Quest XI S is released.
  11. Where's the shameless plug for Dragon Quest XI S?

Dragon Quest XI S Pre-Orders Available!

Autumn 2019 is a very general release date since a specific month and a specific date is not specified (and you have to consider September, October, November, and early December are the months associated with autumn). So Amazon defaults to 31 December 2019. But Amazon will update the release date when Nintendo announces the specific release date (albeit not instantaneously).
