  1. Regards: I have the honour to announce here the release of a new patch, that I have created, that fixes all the bugs that existed in the English translation of Dragon Quest 1+2 for SNES, like the game freezing dialog in the inn of Beranule / Beran, the Prince of Cannock's cloning bug, or the endless dialog with a nun after defeating Hargon, near the end, as well as an untranslated variant of the DQ1 ending that was still in Japanese, when you complete the game by carrying the princess Laura in your arms; besides many other important bugs (like the one that cuts a dialog during the DQ1 fin

  3. Hey, guys. I've been a long time lurker on this site but I finally decided to post what I've created for my favorite Dragon Quest/Warrior games! I've created 2 editors to edit monsters and skills for Dragon Warrior Monsters: Cobi's Journey/Tara's Adventure for the Gameboy Color! I'm not even sure how relevant this is anymore, but I decided to post it anyway. Here's some screenshots of the programs: And here are the changes I made to Slime in game: I hope that the few of you that still play this game enjoy this program as much as I enjoyed ma

  4. Hey guys, so some years back there was a topic asking who the cover artist for DWII was in NA. Nobody managed to figure it out, however years later I tracked down Chris Hopkins as the artist for DWIII and IV on NES and I did an interview with him. Well the only thing we had to go off of for DWII's cover art was a lone signature in the corner. Now @Dwaine seemed to think the signature was "kis" however it looks like we may have been looking at it the wrong way. This painting wasn't done by a Western Artist, but a Japanese one! The very same signature appears on t

If you have any suggestions for the "background" images for the forums let me know (I just left the ones that came with the theme for now). Hi! in the introduction forum I have mentioned that I'm an artist (more like a hobbyist with a professional level but makes no money from it), and since I'm going to start making DQ fanart moving forward I felt like making a thread that I will continuously update whenever I make new art . Consider this thread as my art dump, or something along those lines, thank you for passing by! Also, I will feel free to take anyone's suggestion or comment as an idea to be drawn in the future, but this isn't a request thread . I didn't really know what to do first to introduce my art, so

Like the title says, my best friend, my brother from another mother, died on a motorcycle accident on February 10 of 2021 and I've been devastated. I've always loved reading, video games, getting into manga and anime and rpg's have been my favorite genre since I was a kid. Unfortunately I never got into Dragon Quest (although I was well aware of the series, Dai anime etc) until recently that I popped DQ XI s into my Switch and began playing i

Currently 150ish hours into my first playthrough of DQXIs with super strong enemies. Also playing DQVI for the first time when my wife isn't available to watch XI. The site is now behind cloudflare CDN and firewall which is why the browser check comes up when accessing the site at first. I need to see if I can find a fix for tapatalk yet, and the news on the main page isn't working as I was using an RSS reader for that. I may just have to write my own code for that.

  11. You can run over and instant kill enemies on horseback in DQ11 and most enemies who are weaker than you will run away as soon as they see you or will just ignore you. There are already ways to ignore and avoid battles, and with DQ11’s 3D mode having such large open areas and dungeons you can avoid monsters pretty easily anyway. 2D mode can be left as is since its supposed to replicate the old school DQ style, and in that case you have things like Holy Water and Holy Protection to help prevent encounters with weak monsters. I thought DQ11 handled avoiding/dealing with encounter

I was a huge fan of the Monster Joker series when I was a kid. And now I would like to draw a lot of the monsters of this franchise just to practice a bit. I love creature design and this is a good opportunity to practice. But since I'm kinda new on this I would like to know some good ones to start. I know some names but I played the Spanish version of the DQMJ2 so I don't know most of the original names and I want to search for good image references of this c

One is for the original Game Boy, and the other is for the Game Boy Color. Apparently, the game had released before the GBC system was actually available for purchase, and there was a second printing to emphasize GBC compatibility. I recently got both versions together to compare (each cost me $1 before shipping, lol), and here's a breakdown of my findings: Fronts of the boxes: Backs of the boxes: The other four faces of the

Besides getting them for my DQ collection, I scanned most of their manuals and uploaded them to a dummy Google Drive folder (I don't want to put them on my Google account with my real name): https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1EvblbX9BAQVFQlzUBwstvBMFDKvhx6b3?usp=sharing Right now, it has manual scans for DQ IV and VII on PS1, Slime Morimori/Rocket Slime 3 on 3DS, and Monsters 1, Cobi, and Tara on GBC. 18. Good evening folks! I've been working on my free time on the making of a French and English translation of Item Monogatari, a book of several short stories about items and their respective lore from DQI to III, initially realesed in 1989. The first chapter, "Sword of King" is done and completed (chapter 11 "Armour of Erdrick" is almost done) and I thought I might as well share it here, as I also shared it on Twitter. :'D Hope y'all like it! Chapter one features Rubiss too, should you want more of her after reading the first volume of the novel Seirei Rubiss Densetsu! Click me!

While it's not unlikely that DQXII might "double down" on QoL, but not because people outside of Japan like it. The games have always had accessibility in mind since the very beginning. https://www.gamasutra.com/view/news/125100/Horii_Accessibility_Is_A_Cornerstone_of_Dragon_Quests_Success.php It seems that Shin Megami Tensei V would be more of your speed at this rate, judging by some of your suggestions.

  20. Thanks a lot for the positive response! There are like 12 chapters iirc in the book, but despite starting with chapter 1, the one I'm working on now is the 11th. Since they don't really follow each other, I took the liberty of working on those whose item's story I was the most curious about. Chapter 11: Armor of Erdrick will then be the second chapter available. Then it'll be the one on the Mirror of Ra!

  22. Those games would look nice with an HD 2D Octopath Traveler style look. It would be fun to watch your monsters following you around the overworld if they were given a bit more animation (and actual diagonal movement sprites) as you explored. Seems they are making this style of remake for Dragon Quest 1 and 2 as well (as Yuji Horii actually got the whistle blown at him for spilling the beans on that), so maybe when it comes down to it we’ll see an Erdrick Trilogy HD 2D release in one package.

The NES graphics were very well done and you couldn't immediately tell there was a hole in the wall. I started at the far end and kept trying to walk up until all of a sudden I was outside. It was pretty exhilarating to my 12 year-old self. I have a feeling I had a small booklet walkthrough for Dragon Warrior 2 so I don't think I figured out that Rhone (Rendarak) Shrine sneakiness on my own.
