#381492 Article on Nintendo Everything on how Square-Enix says they will bring

Posted by Slime Master on 03 April 2014 - 03:59 PM

;) Not gonna happen Platty, sorry :P

Anyway, Square-Enix could learn a thing or two from other gaming companies like Ubisoft and Bethesda. At least they LISTEN TO THE FANS, that's why their games continue to enjoy popularity.

#381394 Ryu's Rants - Oh wow. NOW SE realizes we like JRPGs?

Posted by Slime Master on 01 April 2014 - 08:25 PM

;) Nintendo might be the ones to talk to about Dragon Quest to be honest. But yeah, it's about time Squeenix got their heads out of their butts (and in Japan particularly out of Lightning's Clevage... >.> ) and LISTEN TO THE FANS. The reason games like Skyrim, Mass Effect and Dragon Age and even Assassin's Creed are successful here in America are due in part to the developers taking in fan feedback, something that Square Enix seems to refuse to do.

Posted by Slime Master on 13 March 2014 - 11:37 PM

;) :whoa: Now there's a shocker, the man who designed the characters for perhaps one of the most famous RPGs of All time cites the Dragon Quest games as an inspiration to get into the field.

#379652 This is it! The Ultimate Dragon's Den Giveaway! :D

Posted by Slime Master on 07 March 2014 - 03:43 PM

;) My first encounter with Dragon Warrior was back in the summer 1992, my older brother and a friend of his rented Dragon Warrior III from our local video rental store, one of the things I liked to do as a kid was watch my brother play through games and probably the biggest thing that stood out for me was the monsters, in particular the Slime enemies. Later on, my brother borrowed a copy of the original Dragon Warrior game from another friend of his, this was the game I played as well as a young child having beat it a couple of times when I was 8 years old, I too then started renting Dragon Warrior III as I viewed that as my favorite of the NES games, unlike my brother I didn't get to terribly far in it ^^; Unfortunately however I didn't have a chance to play Dragon Warrior II or IV on the NES until I grew into an adult and emulated the games on my old computer, in fact, I wouldn't play another Dragon Warrior title until the games were ported to the Gameboy Color, needless to say I was hyped up to play them (thus finally playing Dragon Warrior II for the first time  ).

As I mentioned before, probably the biggest thing that stood out for me during my youthful exposure to Dragon Warrior would go to the various monsters designed by Akira Toriyama, again the most imprinting upon me being the lovable looking Slime enemy. As a result I became a fan of RPGs in general but I will never forget how Dragon Warrior I and III forever changed my life, which of course brought me here to the Dragon's Den where I met and became friends with many awesome folks who post here and share my enjoyment of Dragon Quest :)

#378583 Wii U - Gamepad theory.

Posted by Slime Master on 25 February 2014 - 12:47 PM

;) I really wish Nintendo would go back to their roots and make a simple controller. I was never a fan of the Wii Mote and the Wii U's @DS sized Gamepad makes my brain explode. I guess I'm an old fogey stuck in the past when it comes to controllers.

#378475 Does Square Enix Deserve Us As Fans

Posted by Slime Master on 24 February 2014 - 09:51 AM

;) Follower_Of_Light.... You sound more like a Final Fantasy Fanboy if you ask me.

Seriously, Sqaure-Enix keeps spamming Final Fantasy 13 and Kingdom Hearts and paying little attention to Dragon Quest and like Ryu Mentioned NO attention AT ALL to the SaGa and Mana game. Also do I even need to bring out how neglected the Chrono Series is?

#378362 Dragon Quest Timeline Theory!

;) Also at the end of the original Dragon Quest the hero also speaks to the King before he departs with Princess Gwaelin.

#378337 What is the black sheep of Dragon Quest?

Posted by Slime Master on 21 February 2014 - 08:38 PM

;) @Eel: Exactly! I suppose I'm stretching for reasonings behind why I don't think Dragon Quest IX is the Black Sheep. Yeah the huge grind fest is probably the biggest reasoning behind it but again the original Dragon Quest was also a huge grind fest.
