woodus,

I noticed that the screenshots on the walkthru page for dragon quest V contain english messages.
By which system was the english version released? All I know is that DQV was released by superfamicom, but how do you account for the english messages?
Also, I've only noticed that those websites selling DQV for the superfamicom feature sample pictures with only japanese messages only (same deal for the PS2 re-release).

Please kindly let me know (pointers to webpages and other useful remarks will be appreciated)

Thanks in advance,

supermanifold

There are actually 2 different English fan-translations of the SNES DQV game. You must play it on a ROM and have the translated .ips file. There was never any official English DQV translation by Enix.

;) We're currently hoping in vain for Squeenix to translate and release DQV PS2 remix here in the states. But as Platty said in order to play DQV right now you will need to get an Emulator (Preferably ZSNES) and the ROM. The ROM can be found at QualityROMs.com along with one of the IPS for it.

" Bring it. I'll love it. I've decided that anything that has Dragon Quest slapped on it is amazing. Slap a DQ logo on $#!& and it's the greatest thing since sliced bread. If the Final Fantasy fan girls can do the same with their series I'll do the same with mine." ~ Chaos

That project is now part of Kojiro translations. And as of right now only 7% of it is completed. So it will be a while.
Dragon Quest VIII solo quest could not beat the god bird with angelo level 59.
Dragon Quest VII solo quest completed with hero
Dragon Quest IV solo quest completed with hero
Dragon Quest III solo quest completed with hero
Dragon Quest I solo quest completed with hero (like their was another option)
Dragon Quest IV solo quest can't be done with Kiryl at level 99

That would be me! The thing is that I have a 1600 AMD which with no graphics card which is not really capable of running the game in pcsx2. If it was I would use the debugger to figure out the compression of the game. But as it stands I can't seem to get anywhere.

meep... It's on hold too... LONG while... however, not forgotten, have we find a LZSS godhand ... We'd all pound this game into a million pieces...
