I have achieved possibly the most amazing feat ever in the history of DQ6.

Firstly, I have managed to defeat Dark Dream in 1 1/4 round. It cannot be done in less.

Secondly, I have managed to bring the possibility of the most awesome save-state ever to all who would like it.

I have a total of 19 characters in my party, all of whom are Level 99, and all of whom have mastered all 18 classes!
There is 5.66 Million gold in the bank ($5,660,000 gold) which can be used for equioment for any additional monsters you may wish to recruit and build up.

The existing characters are already armed to the teeth and have the best armor available, although some may realize a small benefit from a visit to the Greed Town casino if you care to take the time, they may end up with a slight improvement.

Or, you may simply wish to kick Dark Dream's arse...or maybe you just want to experiment around with different monsters and see what their potential is. I only bothered to work with monsters who could achieve level 99, and there are a few monster types I did not bother with...so as to allow the user to decide which, if any, monsters he/she may wish to recruit...there is open space left to recruit a few more.

Anyway, these are the stats for everyone I have in my party. Bear in mind that, for the purposes of comparison, they are all set to Hero Class. All of them have mastered all 18 classes, and all have achieved Level 99.

Very nice. How did you defeat Dark Dream in 1 1/4 round? And can you link your save state, it would be cool to see, thanks.

Her savestate will be hosted within a day or so on the Savestate Shrine in my signature (check it out then). Also, she beat him in 1.25 rounds by having 5 characters use Mandate with maximum MP. She'll explain any further details.

And I'm assuming you have like 300+ hours into it (neglecting the speed up framing)? I envy your patience...

Probably more than 300 hours even WITH the speed-up framing, and yes, I used that.

And yes, the way to nail Dark Dream in 1 1/4 round is to select guys with the highest MP, and have them unleash Madante on him.

I have four characters all at 999 MP, and even then, four shots didn't kill him, so it is not possible to do him in in just one round...even use of the Echoing Hat does not help here, because only Spells...and not Skills...are echoed. So you do not get an echo on Madante. I know, I tried!

But, then in the next round, you change out all your characters...and the very next shot of Madante, the 5th shot...will kill him.

so you end up beating Dark Dream in 1 1/4 rounds.

On the edge of your seat for this one, eh?
Well, it's on the way as soon as I can confirm which file to send...I believe it is the .zst file, am I right?

Oh, and by the way, this for everyone...there is an easy way to recruit monsters if you use codes. Make sure you have a Beastmaster in your fighting party (I mean an active Beastmaster...and not in your wagon, but actually out there fighting.)

The codes only are guaranteed to work for the first of each type of monster you are recruiting. They may or may not work for 2nd and 3rd of same monster type...and trying for that may produce side-effects I'm not aware of.

I won't try it until this Savestate is safely enshrined at Platty's site, where I can get it back again if I screw up.

But, i'd like to know the best place to go to attempt to recruit a Metal Babble, if someone knows, I'd appreciate it. I do intend to continue working this game up.

anyways, here's the codes...

DD85-EDD6 - this code will cause all but the most difficult to recruit monsters to offer to join you, so long as all other conditions of recruiting are in effect (an active Beastmaster in your fighting party, and room for your new recruit at Luisa's, or, preferably, in your wagon itself.)

DD84-E766 - this code will cause the most difficult to recruit monsters to offer to join you, so long as all other conditions of recruiting are in effect. See above.

Again, beware that, when using these codes, they are not guaranteed to work on the 2nd of any type of monster...and they are not guaranteed to not cause side-effects when used to recruit a second of the same monster type.

Example, if you already have a Lamp Demon...this may not work to recruit a second for you. It might, but it might not. And it may produce side-effects, I am not sure. On the other hand, if you have no Metal Babble currently in your party, the very first Metal Babble you fight and defeat will offer to join you.

Also, there is a limit of three of each kind of monster that can be recruited, period. So, no matter what, you can't recruit more than 3 Lamp Demons.

Hot damn! Excellent job, Kalisiin! Maybe I'll try and make a near perfect DWVII savestate (probably easily exceed the 500+ hour mark with that one, haha). Wow, unbelieveable. I might have to play around with this one, hehe. Good job! Also, Kalisiin, regarding the Adobe Acrobat. I'll give ya a PM regarding that (sorry I haven't responded too it).
God Bless the Troops!

Game(s) I'm currently playing: Star Ocean: The Last Hope (XBox 360)
Game(s) I currently have, and need to play: Warhammer: Online (currently on hold at the moment), Star Ocean: Second Evolution (PSP), Dragon Quest V (DS)
Game(s) coming out in the future I (eventually) need to get: Blue Dragon Plus (DS; Feb. 09), Suikoden Tierkreis (DS; Mar. 09) and Dragon Quest IX (DS; Q3-4 09).

The website is updated. You'll probably be able to download this tonight when JaHaViAn uploads the files to his server. Have fun!

Awesome!

One point, though. On the DQ5 savestate I sent...there are TWO GAMES on the save file...one is married to Bianca, the other married to Flora, and both have defeated Esturk, and exploited the unlimited Small Medals trick.

Already on that one, bud. I have near 185 hours, and i just passed level 55 with Jaha (hero). He's 3 classes from mastering all the human ones, Gabo is on his last class (summoner), aira and melvin are playing catchup.

I haven't even beaten Orgi for the 2nd time (2nd disc). i just beat the fire leg (got Fuego helmet) but kinda got sucked into a FFV quest i never even got past level 3. I think this DQVII one will go well beyond 300, if not 400+ hours

Kal, your savestates are up. at least the first ones (5 and 6). Enjoy all!

Indeed!
I noticed my savestates were now officially up and running. I'm glad because now I can monkey around more with DQ6 and perfect it even better.

I'm gonna try for a Metal Babble, a couple more Lamp Demons, a couple more Slime Kings...and gonna get rid of some of the weaker monsters.

then I will work all my NEW monsters up, and have an even BETTER ultimate save state, which you will be welcome to once I am done with it.

You should mention though, on the DQ5 savestate I sent, you have two games on that savestate, and you can be married to Flora or Bianca.

Because I have both of those games available to me in that save file. You should, too.

If you don't, let me know, and I'll send along the Bianca save as soon as I figure out how! I thought the .zst file is the file your game refers to when you first load up the game, meaning there can be more than one game in the .zst file.

I used the codes to recruit a 2nd and a 3rd King Slime, as well as a 2nd and 3rd Super Tensk with no problem. It did not, however, work for me, trying to recruit a second Lamp Demon. No side-effects, either.

I have also released Pierre the Slime Knight, and Jimmy the Mud Doll...both are rather useless at this point, the only point of Pierre was to win the Monster Style Contest. Their stats weren't worth keeping, so I released them. Now I got four new monsters to take thru the jumps and get them up to 99 and fully classed out.

Then I need to re-assess my party, and decide who stays and who goes. And I think you can only have 24 party members.

I know I'm already stuck with 7 humans, Rookie and Drago...they will not let you release them. so that's 9 places taken. My Lamp Demon isn't going anywhere, and that's 10. My 3 King Slimes and 3 Super Tensks will make 16 that are keepers. My 2 Healers aren't going anywhere, and so now that is 18. I want a third Healer, too, so that is 19. If I can I want 2 more Lamp Demons, which will make 21. Meaning only 3 spots left. And no Metal Babbles yet, dunno if I will want one or not once I see how good/bad stats are on the first one. I also have Unkel, Melby, and Mecky left. They would theoretically take up my last 3 spots, leaving me with no openings, if I could get 2 more Lamp Demons. So I need a Metal Babble first. if they are good and I want them, I'll have to release the three mentioned party members. Otherwise, I'll keep them.

But, at this point, there are 18 on my list that are not going anywhere, and once I get another Healer that will be 19 that are not going anywhere.

Decisions, decisions!!

But I want to make the biggest, baddest, most awesome team in the history of DQ6, and make it work. It'll be so AWESOME!!
