Long time DQ fan here, favorite in the series probably being 4, as I love Torneko. As you might have guessed from the title, I live in Tokyo, Japan, so it's pretty much Dragon Quest heaven around here. I'm originally from NYC, but I've been here in Tokyo the last, wow, almost 7 years already. In the time I've been here, my Japanese has gotten pretty good (at least in terms of input - reading and listening - still, after all this time, a bit shy to converse allllll that much), so it's a dream as a JRPG lover.
Started playing Dragon Quest X the day it came out a couple of weeks ago and am loooooving it (Level 18 Weddie Thief). My reading is holding up pretty well so far. The story and quests are easy enough to understand, so it's been pretty smooth sailing. (Now I just need more free time to actually play it!) Also have been working on Dragon Quest Monsters: Terry's Wonderland 3D when I'm on the go. Bought a 3DS LL a few weeks ago, so it's nice and big now.
Otherwise, I play any and all JRPGS. Finished up Ni no Kuni on PS3 not long ago. Beautiful game, that. And played Persona 4 The Golden on PSVita before that. Also a big 1st party Nintendo fan. Really looking forward to Luigi's Mansion 2, Paper Mario 3D, and Animal Crossing 3D this fall. (Although the recent New Super Mario Bros 2 was pretty terrible.)
Besides games, I teach international relations at a university here in Tokyo, and play the cello and the ukulele in (small amounts of) free time.
So anyway, that's me. Looking forward to talking some DQX. Thanks!
(By the way, that's my DQX character in my avatar pic. Aren't I cute? And slightly 12 years old looking...)
